I almost decided not to go at the last minute. I had been writing to several women on a weekly basis for more than 3 months. The letter writing had been going very well, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to choose. I didn't want to put all of my eggs in 1 basket by writing to only 1 woman. Weeks before my departure, 1 of the girls told me that she didn't want to write to me any more. I had confessed to smoking a little pot once or twice a year. She accused me of being a drug addict. Another told me she didn't want to meet me because I had decided to go with a tour group. Another said that she was too nervous to talk to me on the phone. When I arrived, I had no way of contacting her because I had no telephone number, and she didn't respond to my emails until after my departure from Russia. The last one was a Ms WOW with over 200 letters to her credit. Her pictures were amazing. I flew to her town and she met me at the airport. She looked nothing like her pictures. We spent 3 days together. She was very nice, but we were not compatible. Out of all of her suitors, I was the only one to ever visit her. I am very thankful that I took the advice of some of you gents that recommended that I go with a tour group. Not only did I meet a bunch of great guys, but I met more beautiful, intelligent, sincere woman than I could have ever hoped for. I had the time of my life and can't wait to go back to Russia. I am writing several of the women that I met at the socials, and I will return in 3-4 months. There's 1 girl in particular that I really clicked with. I need to spend more time with her to be sure, and the INS expects return trips too. For anyone with doubts, JUST GO! Russian women are amazing! I can't imagine that anyone would be sorry they went. I find it interesting that you were the only suitor to Miss Wow. I guess alot of women with fewer letters never actually get to meet anyone also. You never know how compatable you are until you meet them face-to-face. Dont waste your time and efforts on these Miss Wow losers guys, find a nice lady, with no huge letter count, and GO and meet her !!! I read that it was quite high for tours. Would it be the same for other encounters? But I also believe that many women do this just to increase their odds. The problem that arises from this is e.g. ( The Michaelbutler story) where a woman has 5 or 6 guys invited to see her for her week off in June. Whether or not she was intending to meet up with them is an unanswerable question. Hopefully Michael won't find out. But I think we have managed to talk him out of it thankfully !! I personally wouldnt ever bother to do anything buty decline a Miss Wow, Ive said it before Dale, I want to be number 1, not number 201 !! If you really want to find a good woman, then look for the ladies who have been here about a month, and had very few letters, these are the best bets for finding sincerity, honesty and a really worthwhile lady. Del` The actual stats for "good" women meeting and marrying are low, but of the ones that Do meet a man in the flesh the stats are very high. I cant recal exact figures, it has been a long time since I read the info and I dont remeber what I had for dinner the night before last, so forgive the unqualified remarks. All I recall is that in almost 80% of the ones who meet the same man more than once, a marriage, or at least a fiance vsist happens, Im sure it was as high as that ... it was about 18 months to 2 years ago that I read it. Of course there will be a % of meetings that never get past that stage, but the ones that proceed to further meetings and visits tend to go to marriage in the end :o) Some dont, but thats usual in home grown relationships too. dma Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 5/8/2004 2:04:56 PM   Indeed, I also thought I read that the statistic was unusually very high. I think because of the circumstances, it has to be. Everything seems greatly magnified. In other words, if you really mean this, if you really want a Russian partner, then you Will find one, it may not be the first one you meet, but you Will find one eventually !! BUT !! That doesnt mean if you dont treat her right, or you find one like my first one who is a child in a womans body, that she wont do something stupid as mine did !! Or levae you in your own country, or go back because you treated her badly !! So do Not be complacent !!
