Like it says Im from Missouri, and will be heading for of all places Lugansk in the Ukraine. I met the young woman from a site, Confidential Connections, free for them but it is required to pay to write to them, I understand this since
it is a business.
I have read through the forums and now my guts are in a twist over this. My reservations are of course through aHotel of thier recomendation, also where thier site operates from.
Yes it is a little pricey and I am to arrive there the 14 of next month for a ten day stay. I am a little concerned about this whole trip since I will be going alone, and it's my first trip out of the good ol U.S.A.
Has anyone any knowledge of Confidential Connections, everything they say is all thier ladies are usually hand selected from the local college, They have a base of operations here in the U.S. and supposedly have very strict anti-scammer policies.
The lady I write to seems to be the real thing, she has told me all about herself where she works what she does in her spare time.
Any information at all would be great, from men and or women having any knowledge of how I should proceed since right now I am at a loss, an internet friend told me to look this site up after he heard of my visit to Lugansk , I think he would actually shackle me to a tree to keep me from going
I think half of your concerns have absolutely nothing to do with Lugansk, the agency, the hotel or the lady you're about to meet.
You simply lack the confidence and know-how that world travelers develop when we go somewhere new.
After 35 countries that I lived in or visited, the traveling skin is so thick that it is almost impossible not to put on the 'traveler' suit when I go some place new.
These are hard times for americans to venture out in the world, because our passport is seen as a reminder of the policies of our government everywhere we go, whether we agree with it or not.
You've come to a good place to get good advice.
Contact Olga at customer service for info on the angecy...then get in touch with TimH to connect you with his 'Ukranian sister' to help you ID the lady you fancy (TimH is a good guy and great source of info, despite his limeyness, chimney smoking and coke guzzling habits...:)))
I would strongly suggest you visit the anti-scammers websites to see if by any chance your lady is listed there...but beware that not all women listed there are 100% scammers. Sometimes a desillusioned or rejected western man places her name there out of spite...go figure.
another good way to get some peace of mind is hiring a FSY PI to verify all the info you have on the lady.
As regards this agency, never heard of them personally, but I do have friends in Lugansk that I have spent a lot of time with personally and an adopted Urainian sister too :o))
I must say however , that her source for finding out if people are real and if their address is real has dried up recently !! It was a friend of an X of hers, and since she has recently married a US man they dont seem to want to bve so helpful any more, but if you email me the district she lives in I can let you know if its a good area, or if its one of the scam resident areas.
In Lugansk dear :o)
There is an area of the city that I know where many scam girls live and meet up in cafe`s and internet shops to compare notes and teach each other their tricks and tactics !!
Dont worry though, I know you are not one of those girls ;o))
Dinner is almost ready, so time I wasnt here ;o)))
Many of them live in an area called Miriny, as to where they meet up, my sister Olya told me about that part but she didnt tell me the names of the cafes etc, as Olya has come across many scammers in her time as an interpretor for the agency she worked for I am sure that what she says is true, and that certainly I have personally met and almost taken to the cleaners by one scammer who resides in the Miriny district, that was how the subject came up for discussion with my sister Olya :o)
Miriny is a very poor and run down area, high poverty, crime and scammer population, as it was described to me "many of the women there are Desperate to get out, they dont want foreign man they just want enough money to get out of that area, they even compare scammers plans and notes and teach each other what to say, ask for, and how to play foriegn men"
Now that doesnt mean that Every woman from that area is a scammer, it just means that above all other ares that area is considered to have a very high rate of insincere women who wil do whatever they think wil get them money to get out of that area.
Hey hey hey Mirniy is not far from a place where my parents live:) actually they live 10 minutes from it:))) So I know that place:)) And that region very well:) Actually the region may be devided into several parts...some are not bad, and some are bad. Actually Mirniy is a block of flats:) And the whole region where Mirniy is, is called Artemovsk area, 1 of 5 (if I'm correct) areas in Lugansk:)
If I will have time on weekend will go there and maybe see some scammers??:)))of course I don't know which girls are scammers and which are not, but maybe I will be lucky??:)
TimH as far as I know Mirniy is a rather new block of flats, and all buildings there are 10-15 years old, it was build after the Lenin Komsomol Block (where my parents live) and that one was build at last in the 1985:)And nobody wears fur coats now:))) it's rather warm for them now:))))

:)))) to wait until winter is a lot of time, and my curiosity will kill me:))))
OK OK there are some buildings that are not finished yet, and only now people start to finish them:) There is a lot of dirt there, really, that's for sure:)
No dear, the building I saw was old, and falling apart. It had been finished a while ago, but then left to fall down again, with the residents still inside I wouldnt wonder !!!
And we apear to be following each other around on here again :o)))
Like a famous britsih admiral once said : "To hell the torpedoes". I'm not a worldtraveller but I visisted a lot of EU countries not knowing (at first) more than 10 words in their home language. I'm now going to St P and, by hazard, I will meet there a lady I learned to love
Oherwise, I would go to St P quite alone with only basic notions of Russian. As Father Tim once said, the big problem is to take back your loving lady at home but , for my side, I never had the least problem in any country when I was a mere tourist !
Enjoy the trip my friend; we won't live long enough to decide to visit the mighty world after our 60ies like JP II !
