What country, but I am sure they are all similar. The cheapest way is to buy a pre-paid card. Here in Australia we buy them at the newsagency, I am sure wherever you are they have something similar. You dial a local number and put in a code, then the phone number. If you only have a cell phone ( american Yes "cell phone") you will have to pay twice or whatever you cell plan is plus the phone card.
Just say where are you from and Im sure forum members will tell you about type of calling cards they are using.As far as I know in states there are many of them. And you can get around 150 min for 5$
So depending on the place you live you cna always find a way for cheaper calls.
Go online and search cheap phone rates to russia. I saw some offering 4 or 5 cents a minute. But unless you get a gal that speaks english, you'll need an translator on the phone with you. I paid 67.50 for 30 minutes recently. I'm also looking on the web to find cheaper rates, lol

I have used them before. Gave up on them, half of the time they never kept the appointment I set up. Very frustrating. Pay a little more and get someone you can depent on. Go to gs-1.com, I think they just changed their name to mastercall. Ive been using them quite a while now and there rates are great. I can spend $20 and have hours and hours of talk time. They have a few plans available and one that specializes in cell phones. Hope that helps
If I use my cell phone it cost $1.49 per minute. Using AT&T cost me 37 cents. Have not had much luck with phone cards. Have used Skype but have only had bad reception.
Hey all, I have one better than all of you. go to BIG ZOO.COM and buy a calling card online. Moscow is only 4.5 cents a minute and you can call on your cell phone or home phone through a local access number in your area or if not a toll free number. The toll free number is only 1.5 cents more. The rest of Russia is cheap also. like 16 cents or so. Check it out. If you dont mind send me your email as I can get some points for a referral. ALso the calling card costs .75 cents a month maintenance fee. Cheap considering ATT and others. I call my girlfriend in Ukraine at only 13.5 cents aminte versus att at .27. even 10-10-987 was .21 cents aminute plus .46 connection fee each time. i Thank izzfaddag (steve) for passing it on to me. A $20 card gives me over 7 hours to Russia.
