In Afganistan the typical Soviet soldier didn't give a crap where the arms were coming from. They just wanted to go home because they had no idea why they were there in the first place. Why would you even think any war is a topic of conversation? Stay away from politics (including wars) and religion, unless you really want to engage in an argument. When I began seeing patients at the university, we would sometimes get this really messed up people. Everything we did was always filmed, and then the whole group of students would get to see the video. I remember this time when one of my classmates had to counsel a trisexual (someone who has sex with women, men, and animals) ...most of my classmates were speechless. Then, someone came with the idea of putting a sign right below the television screen that said... �Remember he is in pain�...with the purpose of avoiding to put any judgment in the guy�s actions. And what is mostly painful is that the men who were fighting there were not the professional soldiers, but smple boys which had to stay in the army for 2 years and who got so unlucky to be in the army i the time of Afganistan war. The USSR lost millions of people in the wars, so the wars are very painful to people, of course I don't speak about girls and boys who are 15-16 years, they can have any opinion, as they are much more different now.
