I am having a problem finding information on the internet about the b-2 visa process. Two questions:
Do I need to send her an invitation (and if so, where do I get one)?
Is anything else required from me(information, money, etc.)?
I appreciate your help!
P.S. Thanks everyone for the advice on my travel to Saint Petersburg. The info I received here was very useful. I had a great time!
I will say and I think the vast majority will concur that unless your girl has a wealthy background (I.E. she has a very good reason to go back), it is incredibly unlikely she would be granted a tourist visa.
A fiance visa is the most likely document that will achieve your desired results.
Scott is right. I'm not a yankee but even I know you stand no chance. I believe the fiancee-visa is called K1 (?), and you need some proof that you've been over to her, a photo clearly shot there (background a monument or something) apparently helps.
But why ask here and hear hearsay - surely you've got an Immigration Dept which can tell you all, and they even have the lot posted on a website.
All info firsthand a call away?
Oh, and real estate is sellable via remote, hardly a surely if you'd ask me.
Some fiance visa agencies swear by the K-3 type visa as the quickest way to bring her to you.
whichever way you go, make sure neither of you thinks any of the requirements are EXPENDABLE....there is not such thing as 'cutting corners' with a fiance visa.
Good luck!!

Dis: I would hire an attourney. From what I understand unless your girlfriends last name is Putin, or she is middleaged with tons of money to where they know she isn't a risk, the K-1 is the only way to go. Good luck
Thanks everyone. This is going to be difficult, I see. I am now unsure if this process will be done by the end of October, when her trip is planned. She plans on coming for only 13 days!
