Just wanted to share to gems I have found in my quest to learn Russian.
The first is a company called unforgettable languages, their web site is unforgettablelanguages.com
The method is wild.... if you go into their Russian demo, and spend five minutes there, you'll have eight to 10 words of Russian permanently etched into your head.
It's way cool.
The second is a book many of you have probably seen, it's the series "learn the language in 10 minutes a day."
Cool! Also "The Complete Idiot's Guide To Learning Russian" is a good book, if you want to learn grammar, the cyrillic alphabet, etc. I just started reading it. I guess you can say I'm somewhat of an idiot when it comes to Russian,...
You can find a lot of interactive language CD's on ebay. I picked up
Learn Russian now from Transparetn Languages on ebay for 15 dollars. It uses Russian speaking people and has interactive conversations. It uses more than 2500 words from simple to complex conversations. Plus an extra cd with global writer and Russian grammar tutorial.
Passport to Russian by Charles Berlitz is a great language book.
Along with the Oxford Russian Dictionary with over 45000 entries.
Seth- I remeber doing the "unforgettable" 10 word test.3 months later I can still remember two of them, "old" and "cow". It's not the first thing that I would want to say to a russian woman. Good invitation for slap to the face or best, a piece of beef that takes a half hour to chew. I personally would go with the "Learn the language in 10 minutes a day for 8 years"
