If you get nervous so easily, I suggest you surrender your fragile western ego to the first feminazi that shows interest in your nervous ass and surrender you will, your income and your nuts.
whatever makes you happy, mate....
Do not look for scam everywhere, otherwise you will get not only nervous but it will drive you crazy. If you do not believe that it could be a Russian than just do not pay attention to it. Search for something that really exists.
camped69,
Being very popular dating services attract not only competitors for love but swindlers as well. There are men, for example, who use beautiful women's pictures, submit fake profiles on different sites and thus make good money! Be vigilant.
Camped69- Write her back and ask her what city in russia she lives in. If she says she lives in Cincinnati and she's beautiful, I'll be happy to check her out for you as I live in Cincinnati also. :o) Roadrunner is the ISP for Cincinnati Bell Telephone. Cincinnati Gas and Electric is doing an experimental program here now where all you have to do is plug computer into an electrical outlet to receive internet signal. Can't wait to see what Cincinati Water and sewage treatment plant comes up with. Probably something where you just throw computer in the toilet. I've almost done that a million times already. :o)
I know that Anastasia Web is only in it to RAPE every guy who is foolish enough to believe that he actually is receiving letters all of the time from legitimate women. MY WIFE IS LISTED ON AMASTASIA WEB. First, she is my wife. Second they have her listed as 39 years old and she is 42 years old. The photographs are old photos of her when she was with European Connections 3 years ago. EC was legitimate to the best of my knowledge as I met my WIFE on their website. My wife looks great but the photos of her now on Anastasia web have been touched up a lot. Anastasia web DOES NOT CHECK PASSPORTS TO VERIFY THE AGE OF WOMEN EITHER. Anastasia web is ONLY concerned with collecting 8 dollars from each silly guy who believes he is actually receiving mail from the beautiful woman he thinks he is writing to. In all actuality...girls in an office churn out letters to men all over the world. EC had many women doing this in Kiev and Moscow...My wife knows this very well as she spoke of it many times to me. Many of these agencies do this. ALL SCAM to one degree or another but Anastasia SCAMS BIG TIME. My Wife is quite beautiful...not 39 but 42 married, from Kiev and yes, her (our daughter is now 9 years old. My wife is 165 cm...has been for years and her weight is approximately 54 KG and she still has the sexy clothes she is pictured with on the website. They have her name as LANA but her real name is Ilona or Iolanta and we were married on 31 December 2002.
I can only say, Anastasia web is a SCAM if they are advertising my wife and receiving lots of money I am sure at 8 bucks a pop from unsuspecting men all over the world. To all of you American men...ans all of your European Blokes...LANA is definitely MINE and I am keeping her. I do love her very much.
I'm not far away, I live in Madison Indiana. Next time I'm in Cincy, which is a lot. I will buy the first beer. We can drink in Salute to Coach Huggins.
As far as scams go. Vigilance and common sense is the prevention and not the cure. As long as people don't want to work honestly for a buck
there will be scammers in all walks of life. I won't paint any of these girls as scammers. I trust but verify. Plus there are so many anti scam web sites very few of these girls slip through the cracks without notice.
Thanks for the posts. I guess I just expected a .ru extension. Got me thinking. After 7 letters nothing about money has come up. She answers questions most of the time. As for being able to get her on the phone, no go. Some of my FSU friends think that either she is using a translator and her english is not good, or she is married looking for a pen pal, or it is some elaborate scam. This issue has got my curiosity going so I think I will see how it pans out.
Hello! I came across this message here by accident and decided to post my reply. I am working for Anastasia Intl.
I would like to share information we have with everyone on this forum. Lana (ID number on www.anastasiaweb.com is 60524) is from Kiev. She attends the local agency called Fortuna-Kiev.
Steve, in order to prove you that before activating any lady on our website we contact them by phone and check their availability and the information our partners have added to the database. Before putting any profile on the website our partners (local agencies) check ladies passports. I have contacted this local agency (Fortuna- Kiev) and requested a copy of Lana’s passport. So, I am sending you the copy of her passport to your e-mail. You can see that the information that we have about her age and marital status is correct. If anyone else who reads this message wants to see the copy of the lady’s passport, please let me know and I will e-mail it to you.
To clarify the situation we asked our partner in Kiev to tell Lana about your message and ask her to post a reply right here. What she told us is that she has a pro forma marriage with Steve and you, Steve, according to what she says, are aware of this fact. She told us that you mutually decided to be friends. More so, you are supposed to know that she attends marriage agency in Kiev. But let her explain everything herself.
Why Lana did all these things – we don’t know. We can not see the people’s inner world. We do guarantee only that the lady is not married and her personal information is correct and that she is seriously looking for a foreign man to get acquainted and possibly married. The only way to make sure that the lady is not married is to check her passport and that is what we did.
In the words of the obnoxious, know it all, crass, crude and brutally pragmatic but down to earth and well meaning MOI....If you sign up with an east/west dating website that charges you PER LETTER, you're a moron, or at the very least, you have been suckered.
Ditch Anastasia and any other site like it.
You're not calling the women that get charged for letters morons, are you toad? You can bet your warty ass somebody is paying. Certainly not in all circumstances, but eventually you could be asked by girls agency to foot the bill when she can no longer afford it. Even if you have VIP membership. Our low monthly cost by no means covers all correspondence and translation charges. I do agree though that some companies try to rape us on letter fees.
Dale,
No, I was referring to the men who agree to respond to letters costing $3,4,5 or more per piece.
Anastasia, globaladies, etc etc etc...
Their tours may be great, but their system is abusivily expensive.
In addition to the exorbitant coumpounding cost to maintain a reasonable frequent communication with several ladies, these sites give you no guarantees whatsoever that you're writing to a real person.
I agree that for a service of this kind to work well and develop for everyone's benefit, the element of profitability must be present.
But if Fiance.com can offer me unlimited correspondence with an unlimited number of ladies for $30 per month, why in the world would I want to spend $100s writing to women that may or may not exist?
I don't know anything about costs to the ladies, and unless or until I make my choice to get serious with any of them, I don't think I should assume any financial responsibility for them.
Toad- 3,4,or 5 dollars is cheap copared to some places that charge 8 or 10 for a one way letter. You should go about it exactly the way you stated in your last paragraph, "I don't know anything about the costs to the ladies"
Dale,
When I started comparing websites several months ago, the most expensive ones were $3,4,5 per letter. I'm sure prices have gone up. heck, lol...blame it on gas price increases, right?
It made no sense whatsoever when several other ones offered what fiance.com and eastwestmatch.com offer for a flat monthly fee.
Knowing or caring about what women have to pay to contact me is not my responsibility, at least not until I deem it appropriate based on the level of relationship I have built with any particular fsu lady. until then, not my job.
I am in the middle of an on going scam right now. After three weeks of some really high highs of corresponding with my young, sensual, and beautiful Angelika, there started to be some discrepancies in her writings.
First she said she was from a little town called Berezvoka, only a couple of phones and the only internet available was the internet club in town. It was a joy for her to walk to town and pay to write me. She just does not have the time concept down too well, because she is sending me mail at times when all of eastern Russia is sound asleep. Well I would not think that the internet club would be open at 4:21 Am. Hey but I overlooked that as me being a little paranoid.
She has some money saved up and she wants to come to America to meet and maybe marry me. Well the whole deal with insurance, visa, air fare comes to about $1250.00; she has it all but about $720.00. So she lives in this little town in Siberia out in the middle of no place and I am thinking she would love the condo on St. Pete Beach with the sun, the breeze, and the blue water, Then there is the killer view from the 14th floor so I’m like getting ready to mail the money. But I was waiting for her to go to Barnaul to the Barnaul International Visa Agency to find about the length of time to get a visa. Well I typed in Barnaul in the search bar to find out about the visa process and what I got was the Russian Bride Black list of Barnaul. After that I became a little pensive to say the least, as my dream started to dissipate.
I immediately started shifting gears trying to pull myself out of the dumps; I like to think of myself as the eternal optimist. So I figured that I would really stress now more than ever that she call me. So Sunday at 12 midnight her time, she calls and says hi, I was overwhelmed I mean first time I have heard her voice. This call lasted 37 seconds and we got disconnected. Now I could be jumping to conclusions but in a letter I received several hours later she said she called from Samara which is only 1280 km from Berezvoka, can you imagine the conclusions I’m jumping to after reading some of these horror stories about scammers. I was thinking my sweet little helpless Angelika is really Borris the Russian Mafia guy from the old school.
Well I’m just going to chill because my mom raised no total morons; at best I’m a little slow. Last Wednesday I mailed her a Red, White, and Blue Teddy Bear, an abalone bracelet, an eighty dollar bottle of perfume, and fifty bucks in cash, to her address in Berezvoka, so the truth will rise up soon.
My mother said sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, I told her our family friend is the ambassador to Italy and he was going to pull out all of the stops to get her here; all she needed to do was mail a copy of her passport to me so that I could take it to him. Now this is minor treachery because I do know the Ambassador to Italy and if she sends me a copy of her passport I will be on my knees begging like a dog for a bone for Mel to help me get my little angel here. I wish I would have found this site before I pulled up the Barnaul Russian Bride Black list.

UP DATE!
While I was getting some help here it was suggested to call the Berezvoka Post Office and get the name of the Internet Club in town and then correspond there. The unfortunate part of this scenario is that the Post Office says they do not have an Internet club in town and even they do not have internet services either. Well I am positive there will be a logical explanation for this and who am I to judge. Mom said patience is a virtue, I’m sure my little Angelika would not intentionally lie to me. Maybe we have the wrong Berezvoka Russia. I think there are three towns with this name, yeah but with the same mail code now that would be a stretch even for an optimist like me.
