I want to connect a video camera and a portable dvd player to the TV in the apartment we are renting next week in Moldova. Are the typical TV's there wired the same way as USA for video connections..either an RCA connection, normal coaxial cable connection, or if it is an older TV, a matching transformer?
I can't speak for what they have, but European televisions normally use the PAL video signal standard instead of NTSC such as in America. Unless your DVD player and/or camera also output signals in PAL, I doubt you can display your material on their TV's.
Now, there have been discussions recently that all the newer TV's actually support both standards.
good tvs are usually multisystem over there. so they should be able to handle NTSC too. ask the apartment landlord. check your camera. it should support both voltages usually. you will need a plug adapter.
Thanks guys. I can't believe I am leaving this Saturday! It will be a great two weeks. Her parents have a room all ready for me for my time in the Village, but it will be hard after spending a week alone with her in the city first.
If the TV has AV connection it should work. I sent a video player to Russia and it worked with AV connection and the TV in the apartment I was in had AV connections. After all arn't thay all made in Tiawan.
