Here is another 'postal question' (which may or may not be related to yours).
A few years ago the postal services of some countries could offer a 'fax + post' service: You brought your document to your own post office, they sent it to a post office in the country of destination, where it was printed and then forwarded by mail.
-it allowed 'next day delivery' to recipient with no internet or fax.
I don't know whether it is still done by the postal services. (perhaps a private service?)
-and perhaps it is not relevant to your situation (?)
"... reminds me of the good ol' days, when we had the "pony express." ..."
-actually: somebody somewhere once complained that in that particular instance the pony express could deliver a letter in one day, while it now takes 3. (I forgot where it was).
It took about 2-4 weeks for the letters from my friend who lives now in Towson MD to reach me here in Lugansk, and the same time to get back. So if this can be of any help, I will be very glad:)
