As for discos it depends on which region of the city you're interested at. Is it prokopyesk prokopiesk prokop'esk or prokopjesk? Go to supertravelnet or multimap both english language sites and they have different spelling. The spelling (at least of the larger towns) is written differently in different languages in the way it sounds most like the local pronounciation, so maybe he's right.
