Idiot detector was treaded with some disdain by his lady because he was an electrician.
Maybe it would be interesting to compare some jobs and educations.
electrician and electrotechnician are at mts (middle technical school) hts (higher technical school) and university. both hts and university are i think within the definition of university in both fsu and usa, but i don't know for sure.
So here the Dutch system for comprising then somebody else can do us and fsu.
LTS/LBO/Leao/LAS lower school for professions etc from 12-16 year (iq range 80-110)
VMBO lower secondary from 12-16(15) year (iq 80-110)
MAVO lower general (prep for next level edu) 12-16 (iq 90-110) 4 year
HAVO middle general (prep for next level edu) 12-17 (iq 110-120) 5 year or 2 after MAVO
VWO higher general (prep for next level edu) 12-18 (iq 120-) 6 year or 2 after HAVO
MTS/MBO/MAS/Meao e.a. middle professional edu after MAVO/VMBO (iq 100-115) 4 years (3 if )
HTS/HBO/HAS/Heao e.a. higher professional edu after HAVO/VWO (iq 115-130) 4 years
University/ Technical High school after VWO (iq 130-) 4-12 years
(All edu's starting with an H are allowed to call themselves bachelor in usa.)
Maybe even that some of the medical doctors are actually comparable to HBO nurses
From a Russian weblog from a girl who married Dutch there was a surprise that only so few Dutch had higher learning as it was ??% in cccp (?? forgot anybody ?) i think that higher learning might actually be lower in fsu and start 2 years earlier, am i right about that?
bookkeeper Meao
accountant 4 year basic or 8 year for register accountant university
secretary (every girl that does some administration or typing calls herselves secretary) an actual secretary has general HAVO or VWO with languages.

We here the eduction starts with primary school (1-4 class) from 6-7 years old up to 9 years old.
Then there goes the secondary school (5-11, now we have 12 classes system, but don't ask me about it, I finished 11 classes system:) from 9 years old up to 16-17 years old.
Then there goes Institute or University, depending on speciality the education may last 4 or 5 or 6 years (for doctors obligatory and then they study for a couple of years more, if I remember it correctly).
You can start studying at specialized school after 9 class, if I'm correct. Also there technical schools.
As for me I finished the Lyceum here, and the course of studying was from 8 class up to 11 class. And Lyceum is thought to give education higher then usual secondary school does, so after the Lyceum I was able to start working if I wanted. But usually they require a diploma of higher education.
Wanted to add that the age may differ, I mean that in the same class there may be pupils studying with age ranging a little bit. it depends in what age the person started his education.
One other thing I have noticed, many girls on sites list there education as high, or even tell you there qualifications but rarely seem to have jobs that suit these qualifications. I know of coarse you could study somrthing and not be employed as this when you finish, the same happens here. But In FSU it seems to be common. Do people go to university just for the sake of it. The girl who was worried about me being an electrician said that she studied to be an economist, but she worked as a customs officer at the train station I think. What have they got to do with each other. I asked my girl about it and she said that at school they are forced to study some subjected which are not realy relivent and they spend little time on them but get a certificate for it when they do not fully understand this topic. On top of that I read somewhere that these FSU qualification rarely mean anything here in Australia, is that true of other countries.
I also noticed that most girls list their education as high. That they don't have a job that fits the schooling isn't so surprising because of salaries in Russia that can make that a bankclerk makes more than a scientist and a hairdresser more than a teacher.
But i also noticed that engineer means i operate a sowingmachine, manager or food preparation specialist probably means housewife and teacher English at the university means i can't spell a damm thing. embellishment if an artform ;=).
But my question before i believe already was is university the only form of higher education in fsu? And or are there different levels of university?
If the girls with a higher education are indeed disdain about the other educations idiotdetector and me might have a problem, most girls listed are higher education and girls with special secondary or high school will probably not very easily learn to adapt to the new culture language and job requirements, also their kids might have the same problem esp. when they are a bit older.
Locally i noticed if a girl accomplishes something it is always a bigger accomplishment then when the boy does the same, they are still not adapted to equal (actually better) opportunity also a girl will never date down on the social ladder only up. There is even an English word for that but i can't remember what that is.
I think the confusion comes in the translation in the example of Economist, we in the west when we thing of Economist, we think of the Milton Friedman types. Economist is the Fsu, and Ron I did like the CCCP reference, I remember when the Russian Hockey team came to the states that was on their jerseys. Back to economist could be something as simple as a business student. Not someone who has studied John Maynard Keynes or the likes. I don't put much stock in one's education or their pedigree of education. Also the listing as a Physician, it could be they are legitimate Doctors or someone who has studied to be a Physicians assistant. It kind of makes me laugh though I wonder how many women would thumb their noses at Bill Gates for being a college dropout, that must make him a real dumb ass.
It's a normal thing that if a person studied to be somebody he works on a different job, so what is the problem??? If you have a higher education then you can ajust to any work that is within your possiblities if you can't then sorry I'm afraid it will be too hard for such a person to find a job. And also as there not too much job, a person should ajust to something else:)))
The hairdresser earns more then a teacher, because the hairdresser works in the private sector and the teacher in the municipal. And there where a private businesman can afford to pay more the municipal government can't. So that's why there is just a gap in the salaries.
People go to the University by different reasons, some really go to get a higher education. Some to meet with new people and try to find a good husband or a wife. Some ujust to have fun. It all depends.
There are 3 levels in the University, Barchelor, Specialist and a Master. Though I consider myself the Barchelor not to be a higher education at all, as Barchelor includes only 4 years of studying, and usually these 4 years they include just common subjects and nothing too special on the profession the person chose, though it also depends. Specialist, this is the 1 year course of study, the 5th year, this is where really much more classes on speciality are provided. Master is the 6th year of studying, it's not obligatory to go through this year of studying.
"On top of that I read somewhere that these FSU qualification rarely mean anything here in Australia, is that true of other countries", well as far as I know my University did a hard job on making the diplomas they give out to be valid in some countries, I'm not sure about Australia, but in many countries in Europe it is a good diploma. But I'm not sure about the countries.
What is thought, then it would be bachelor fsu is bachelor Hxx edu or the lower uni's in USA
bachelor uni is specialist and master is master.
Recognized value of a diploma is often not what you hope it would be, which is sometimes a bit logic, for example a nurse in the FSU does other things then a nurse in Thailand or England to name a few, so there would have to be some reeducation (other medication other procedures).
I've seen a program of a reeducation program on some west coast university in LA i think, that trained foreign doctors to become a USA nurse in 1 year (which was i big step up for the Caribbean dr shown in that program as he worked in the agricultural sector before going to school). My housedoctor (or is it home doctor) had a while a woman working there as medical assistant, drs here are happy with them as they are allowed to do some medical procedures that people trained to be a doctor assistant are not allowed to do, for the (Russian) it is a pleasant job as its pay isn't that bad and he/she get experience with the local medical system (and can have homework assistance from her boss) i think the reeducation program is 1 or 2 year night school after which you are fully recognized. For educations like languages most of them will be immediately be recognized as full. Lower educations will have more problems esp. if they are not fluent in Dutch. (in higher education English is often just as good but getting to be less so) (a welder will be a welder a truck has to start from the beginning a specialist welder will not be recognized but will be able to do so quickly with sector intern educational programs, bosses are usually very willing to help, administrative jobs will probably be a big problem, programmers just proof you are good, teachers in beta sciences will generally not have a problem (math is math isn't it) in alfa or esp. social will have more problems. The general rule is the higher the education the less the problem. But as noted before not all university is university definitions change per nation.
P.s. no legal conseuances can be drawn if i am wrong about something ;=).
