I want to give my sympathy to anyone and everyone who was taken by this senseless loss of life. My future family has lost close family members. Both young and old in this trategy. I will spend some time over there to grieve with them. I am sure there are some people in this forum who may know girls who may have family over there. If you so, please send them a letter expressing your feelings. It will be very important to them. You may not know it but, your future family may have ties to this area too. Take the time out to find these things out. They may be 1/2 a world away but this act of terrrorism has his you too. By looking for a fufure wife in Rusia, you have also elected to take on the family and all the issues that go with it. So please take time out to find out how this has hurt you and take some time out to grieve with our Wester families.
Yes, dreadful it is indeed, and so senseless - nothing has been achieved other than stopping. This is the second time (?) Putin has ordered to barge into such a thing to end it, a consequent stance in any case, but this time also a lot of casualties fell.
Difficult to judge from far away, but I'd ask Israel for some hints - remember Entebbe?
Well it's a terrible tragedy, I hope we afford russia the same right to deal with terrorist, as we have used in the Uk and America, I hope there will not be any double standards
I would like to please you: have a closer look on the history of Chechnya and you will learn, that during that time tsarist, soviet and nowadays russian soldiers killed hundredthousands of chechnyans. In 1944 stalin let transport nearly the whole population of chechnya into prison camps only because he considered them as collaborateurs with hitlerīs armies (which was not correct).
In 1992 Chechnya decided for the same as Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaidjan: they wanted to be independent. Independent from Russia, which brought only disadvantages to them. But due to oilreserves and other strategic issues Jeltsin decided to make war against Chechnya - once more again.
Actually tenthousands of chechnyan people had to live mostly in tents in neighbouring countries - in summer and winter. ONly few hospitals, most people have not enough daily food.
During the last decade thousands of chechnyan children have been killed without any reason by russian soldiers. Children, who lost hands and feet due to russian mines.
What happened in Beslan is a tragedy - but it is nothing comparing to the cruelties russian soldiers did during the last years towards chechnyan people.
I donīt describe them as terrorists, they fight only for their freedom. NOthing else.
Ones man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. Regardless:
terrorism
The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.
terrorist
One that engages in acts or an act of terrorism.
Beslan was an act of terrorism, thus they were terrorists.
Except the Russian soldiers were acting as agents of their government. As such, these actions are normally viewed as "acts of war". I think the Geneva Conventions should apply in that case, but I would not count on it.
I agree about chechyna, however the irish are freedom fighters as are the arabs, they have committed and act of terrorism against innocent children, regardless of their cause, that is terrorism
Call them freedom fighters or terrorists. It doesnīt matter.
They come from a country which is completely knocked out. Knocked out from 18-20 years old russian soldiers. Young guys from the countryside whose parents hadnīt enough money to buy them free of doing military in chechnya like rich moscovan parents are doing.
A country facing war going back since 1840, when russian tried to invade there.
Under Jeltsin it was allowed for western medias to report about chechnya. Actually it is nearly impossible. No reports on the screen - nothing bad happens in chechnya. So simple.
Where are the russians who ever cared about the innocent killed chechnyan children?
Shamil Bassajew, the guy who is considered to be the planer of this tragedy, lost his wife and his 5 or 6 children because of a bomb, thrown by a russian military plane.
Those persons have seen all bad. They have nothing to loose.
ok. let's remember even earlier year. who owned that lend?:)
remember second world war. when German Fascists occupied Russia. did Russian partisans took hostages their own populations and killed them? so, terrorism is terrorism. those bandits were paid and most of them I think did not realize what would be the end and what they were going to do...
I agree, no matter the rights and worngs of the cause, and both side always have a case, they were children and it was a despicable act....I would fight if my country was occupied, but I can't ever imagine killing a child or civilian, that takes an evil kind of person
