1. they can offer to arrange apartment for you for double price - most
popular scam now.
2. they can tell you that they used an agency to write the letters and
now they need to pay back about $1,000
3. you will be forced to use the interpreter $8-$10 per hour and the
girl will be with you only with the interpreter - this is also very
popular scam.
Most people think that scammers ask for money and never meet you in
real... But that's not true. Now scammers almost never ask for money
and meet people coming. Once you are here you have no choice and have
to use their scam services.
Imade a very recent post on another thread to the effect where the agencies are moving in more and more on, perhaps not scamming, but certainly taking the guy for everything they can.
A lot of agencies are holding the lady as their own and for as long as possible, they will make money from the letter writing and perhaps translation, but not enough to get rich on, and they will suggest that the guy buy the lady flowers or presents at their rip-off prices, but it's when the guy comes travelling that they can really make their money.
The lady is the agency's 'bread & butter', without her they are not going to make any money and this is often the case why requests from the guy for the lady's personal contact information go unanswered, because the agency haven't translated this request to the lady or they have bound her over not to provide her personal contact information.
The lady might have advertised that she has a reasonable knowledge of the English language but the guy will simply not be able to shake-off the interpreter who he may be paying up to USD20 an hour for, the interpreter may be helping herself to the menu and the wine list at the evening restaurants, she may be the one that suggests the expensive shopping trips even though the lady may not have requested the same and so it goes on.
As I said in my other recent post, the agencies are promoting their services with our money to the effect 'register with us ladies, we have foreign men who will buy you expensive gifts' and the bottom line is that many of these ladies, from what I have heard perhaps more than 50%, already have FSU boyfriends and they may be merely using the western men for the gift buying and/or to 'hold a gun' to the boyfriend's head 'marry me or I'll go with the foreigner' and this comes from a very reliable source.
The apartments scam, by indepenent ladies, has been around for quite a while, in the bigger cities it is normally possible to book accommodation via the internet but in the smaller cities often not possible but never send any money to someone you haven't met
Well I am not meeting anyone with an interpreter so they can forget that. And I am fed up of this site saying you can get phone numbers and addresses of ladies but they don't give it you when you ask. Like Martin says, they are holding on so that you buy another months subscription.
Whether or not they have FSU boyfriends or not I dont know, maybe some have, but some ladies repond to you like once a month with a single line about 5 words long and then it takes them another month to reply. Others reply daily but then after a few weeks they stop.
Most are messin about I reckon but there are some who are genuine too I feel.
Alex,
The scammers are increasing, not decreasing, and with so many guys around that will only think with their penis it is no surprise allbeit disappointing.
yes I agree, don't use translators (what for?), speak simple english, use a dictionary or get a woman who speaks english well or learn russian.
Then, go and see her in her town is cheapest but find out if she is real first by phoning her. The if things develop all well and good, but dont keep paying for sites if you dont get the goods. You may as well just go and park yourself in russia in a bar and chat up some chix yourself if you cant get the good on the agency sites.
Listening to you lot makes one see what a bloody minefield it is out there, seems almost hopeless to be able to contact a good woman. seeing ive only just got on here, makes you wonder if it's even worth the effort!!!
I have found a nice girlfriend and have been with her for two years. I didnt use marriage agencies, I didnt use interpreters, I get my own accommodation. Its not that hard!
I work as an expat and spend my R&R in Kiev. It is an advantage for me that I travel there for free. I have met with a number of women via online into sites without any issues. Most didnt progress past first meeting. I have dealt with many scammers wanting translation fees and other requests for money. I cease communications immediately as I travel regularly to the Ukraine and if they are genuine I would give money to them in person.
The trouble with me GeminiDreams is that i have never been out of the country, sad B*****D that i am, so taking a first trip to somewhere like the Ukraine would seem to me a bit like playing Russian Roulette! Especially after reading some of the comments on this forum!
Well.. you should admit that most of the men want an easy way... and scammers use this to catch you :) It's a full time job to find a good girl! And if you think that somebody can do this job for you for $100-$200 per month you are CRAZY! :)))
>you will be forced to use the interpreter $8-$10 per hour and the

I posted on this exact scam last Summer. Actually, it's $15 an hour, with the woman faking the date taking her cut and the translator the other. The agency may be getting their cut as well, although it's likely this is the pay-off to the "translator" (quasi-pimp). This how he/she is rewarded for recruiting the women and pay-off them off for going on dates.
I returned about two months ago after spending four and a half months in Ukraine, my tenth trip covering the entire country, several cities twice. When I have the time and the stomach I'll write a sobering post about the trip.
Another reason I never choose women who don't speak English is the interpreter. As buffed mentions, not only are they expenisive but they can be dishonest.
I WAS assigned a translator for use during the Social that I attended. There were chocolates bottles of wine and small gifts (with outrageous prices) available if a guy was so inclined as to buy something for a special girl. Most of the Ukrainian women, not wanting to give a bad impression, would politely refuse such things at a Social. The interpreter was not above asking however, that she received A LOT for herself as well.
The interpreter it seemed knew all of the scams, what to ask for money for, how to get two guys to give you money at the same time, how to confuse the guy and get him to pay much more for an item on a shopping trip than ity really cost and how to pocket the difference. The lady I met and was engaged to for some time told me that she was quite offended when the translator made these various suggestions right in front of me - and speaking in Russian (of course) to the lady as I was talking to. When I did go out with the lady I was interested in, even though she poke excellent English, of course the interpreter expected to be taken to dinner along with her "just in case any misunderstandings occur".
Hi Guys
Im just thinking there should be a total review of all Dating Marriage Agencies by a large organisation such as FBI.
With the story I heard recently of a girl being led to a country robbed then kidnapped organised crime is growing in many different ways!!
ello, I will tell you of my experience and let you make your own judgement. I spent 4 months getting to know a girl, it was not until the day before i flew to see her i found out the site i was on is a known scam site. I was in too deep so i decided to go and see her. When i got there the girl had her friend there who spoke english and she helped us for our first few hours. The situation turned out that they knew an interpreter who would help us and he would be cheap. The next day the girl turns up with her interpreter and off we go to a local bar. We sit down and we talk through the interpreter, the girl orders food for herself and decides to smoke. at this point alarm bells started to ring in my head as the girls profile said she did not smoke and she knew basic english, both of these points were totaly false she smoked and did not speak english. Ok the bill came, i paid and the interpreter used a club card which his agency has, basicly the agencies have discount cards for certain bars and restaraunts and they present these cards when the bill arrives and i pay, so basicly they get club points and i am paying and they are claiming, this is part of the money making scam. We leave and it was obvious to me that things were not quite right. Day 2 the interpreter turns up on foot at my hotel, he says the girl will be along shortly with the driver, yes this is another part of the con you get a designated driver who you have to pay for also. The interpreter says he wanted the arrangement fee for my meeting with the girl and his daily fee for his service which was 15 Dollars, and from what i have heard this is very cheap. The girl turns up with the driver and we go to the car, The interpreter tells me the girl would like to cook for me and we can get an apartment for 70 dollars a day for the rest of my period there, i refused and explained my hotel was paid for and i would be crazy to be paying for 2 accomodations. They accepted it and off we go to the same bar again and yes the same scenario we talk we drink we eat and i pay and the club card comes out again. The girl says she can not stay for long she had to take her mother to the hospital and she would meet me in the evening, basicly she had to return the keys to the apartment that she had failed to sell to me. In the evening she returned with the driver and interpreter and off we go to bars and yes i pay. The driver was too busy to collect us and we had to get a taxi and guess who pays thats right and i warn you it was probably ten times the normal price. Final day the girl turns up with the interpreter and she wants to go for a walk in the park. Off we go and within minutes the interpreter says that the girl needs to go to hospital soon and needs 500 dollars for medicine, i said i did not have it and the reply was if i care about her i could give her anything i had on me. I said we would talk about it later, we happen to be near the shops and the interpreter said it would be a nice gesture for me to buy the girl a farewell gift. Off we go and surprise they had a club card for this shop also. We go to a bar and food and drink is ordered and i pay. This is when i told them that i thought they were both scamming me, I Said that this girl was nothing like the girl in her profile the information she knew about me was very scetchy and that her and her agencies were scammers. They were disgusted at my accusation and through a long conversation it came out that this girl had not received half my letters i had sent her all of which i paid for, it also came out that over 4 months online in chat with her it was not her but her interpreter all of this i was paying for also. she was disgusted with the agency and said she would leave it. The interpreter and her said that she wanted to stay in touch with me and he would help her translate letters if i wanted to write to her. this sounded ok as it seemed we were both victims of her agency. From this point on all this girl wanted to do was get close and intimate with me, she knew i had dollars on me and she wanted them. This is true the girl was ill she had a bad cut on her leg i saw it and it was easy to believe she needed the money. I gave it to her and we left saying we would keep in touch.Basicly the money for medicine was the money she needed to get for the agency it would have been the money for the apartment i refused to take. On my return home i phoned her interpreter and he answered and hung up as soon as i introduced myself he did this twice. I phoned her and she answered and we talked and she declared her love to me in english the best way she could. I asked her in a letter if the money i gave her for medicine had helped and she wrote back and said i gave her no money and she never asked for any. It was genuinly her that wrote it also. She has now left this agency and it is extremely difficult to get hold of her. She has a profile on a different agency and i wrote to her there, i got 2 letters both of them introducing herself telling me about her and her family. Basicly to sum it it guys, you very rarely are in actual contact with the girl it is the agency and the interpreter that do al the work and you pay a fortune for this. When you meet the girl she will be the girl in her photo, she will have basic information about you but not much, at no time will you be alone with the girl for longer than 10 minutes, you will be paying over the top prices for taxis and food and drink, The girl will make excuses that she has to be up early and she has to leave they wont stay longer than 11pm with you. To sum it up if she has to do anything to get the money from you i think they would do it. The interpreter gets his cut she gets her cut and the agency get their cut, you are the one paying. It is a total con. If you want to meet a girl refuse to have an interpreter and see what happens if she loves you she will see you if shes a scam she will insist on the interpreter and this is where the vcery careful
The agency is well known its called Dream marriage, it is the most effective way to communicate and you pay to chat in the form of credits purchaced on the website. It was not until she told me that on many times when i was in chat with her she was actualy not there so i can assume it was her interpreter i was chatting with and paying for the privillege as well. I gave her the money because i am English and to me dollars are useless. i would rather give them to her and if she was ill then maybe it helped. if she needed it for her bosses who knows. It was not a lot of money. I am getting her name and address checked out and if it is all false i will register her as a scammer.
