Has anyone ever heard of this? I do believe that she is a student as she does speak pretty good English (good enough that we can have some conversation without a translator)and her age of 25 suggests that she is almost graduated which she says she is. She has given me a travel agency name and number which I have not contacted yet but will once I get a little feed back here. She says she has friends that have done this to Canada and USA through this agency that is affiliated with her university. I believe that she is probably not poor as she tell stories of skiing with friends and I know that her city is bigger than most in the Ukraine. I want to believe her but at the same time I am very skeptical...a student visa seems likely enough for a university student in a prominent city. Of course she wants me to fit the bill for the tickets, visa, and paper work to the tune of $720.00 US. She claims that this is a 50% discount off normal prices because of the university travel agent. So what do you all think?...a scam?...or have I gotten the right girl? Any thoughts will help. I hope it is not coming from your heart. Agree with Martin. I had something similar with agirl in Kherson. The deal was almost half the cost of a ticket. Was at $680 then, $700, then ended at $720. they told me it was BEST to send thru West Union, so I sent it with a fake # to her university travel agent, they sent e-mails everyday telling me the number did not work. Tell her you will come to her!!!! Usually it would require an invitation letter from an educational institution. Ask her for a copy of the letter and offer to pay the embassy directly! Th cost is $1800 for Novosibirsk agencies. May be is her town the cost is lower. You can not marry her in the first 60 days after she arrives into US because she will have huge problems with green gard after it. Trouble is it sounds very close to my experience, $720 for everything...go through travel agency at university...talk to director of agency.....12 years experience...done this for many students...50% off....use western union to get money faster...There is a difference-I was not asked to send to a bank.
