Just received this unsolicited letter in my email. Hello!!! How are you? My name is Nadejda. I am 26 years old. I live in Russia, city Yoshkar-Ola. I am cheerful woman, and like to do many things as sport, camping, go to the cinema, theatre etc. In a word I like to do all what like all people. I work in marketing structure on sale of cosmetics. My dream this travel abroad. I know the english language well enough.. I began to study english language approximately one year ago. I wish tell to you history which have pushed me write to you. 8 months ago I have got acquainted with the man from other country by name Justin. During this time we had good relations. We have understood that our relations become serious and we have decided to meet in his country. I wrote the application for reception the visa. I waited reception of the visa approximately half of year. All time I kept in touch with Justin through the internet and often called to each other. I and Justin waited reception of the visa to our meeting. I have received the invitation from the ambassador for reception of the visa. My director has given me long-term holiday from work and I have gone to Moscow to receive the visa. I informed good news to Justin, but he has answered, that does not want our meeting. He played with me. He has informed that has the wife with two children and at all has no plans to meet me. I was not ready to such turn of events. I could not think what even after 8 months of acquaintance he can so unscrupulously act with me. Now I am in Moscow trip to Moscow and reception of visa. I do not want that all was gone for nothing and will be glad if my visa will be useful to our meeting. I could arrive already through 4-5 days, but a problem in that that now I have no man which would like my arrival. Probable it will silly sound but if you will be interested in a meeting with the good woman I shall like to meet you sometime soon! As Justin was dishonest with me I have decided to find the man which is interested to meet the woman from Russia. I do not know your ideas about my letter, but it would be fine if we could meet and have some weeks or months together. On my trip I want to receive rest from my work and a life in Russia. Also the basic purpose for the future it is search good men for serious attitudes which go to a marriage. I have no children, but I want to have children in the future. I am the mature woman and ready to creation of family with good man. I do not know what you really search in the future but if we could meet I shall be happy to discuss with you more about our meeting. What are you going to do this time? It would be fine if we could meet, do friendship or more than simply friendship. I shall be happy if you also have a free time and we could meet soon. I do not know your interests, but anyhow write to me back and I shall tell to you more about myself. Write to me all that you want. Maybe we have similar plans and it will be interesting to us together. You can write all that you want. Ask any questions which interest you. Note: She isn't looking for for me to PAY for a visa. She already HAS ONE (due to that dastardly "Justin" who played GAMES with her!) Just betting that neither bastard "Justin" nor her "director" gave her air fare! H-m-m-m I bet I would have to pay for that. Just a little twist on the classic "Send me money and I will buy visa and airline ticket." This one is evidently for those who know you can't just buy a visa. No matter - she HAS ONE already. Just buy ticket! She did send beautiful picture too by the way - no doubt a Russian model.

yes i will write back to her. The best method is to send her my credit card with my 4 digit pin number. Far better than Western Union.

Basic variation of that letter has been floating around the forum boards for a while now. The source actually traces back to Ekaterinburg as I understand it. I/O

This is a fairly new version. A good way to determine that is to take a segment, a several word uncommon fragment, of the letter and Google it. Most well traveled scam letters will show up as a part of a blacklist somewhere. I've taken a few samples and done the search on this one and nothing has been produced. Write to the girl someone and tell her you are interested. Let us know how it turns out.

I got the same email also but on my work email address that I have never used for personal reasons thus it is someone spam mailing and not necessarily scam mailing.

Can we settle on a scam spam mailing? Write back to it. And the moment you get a leading on response - we drop the spam and its pure scam.

Not only can't you by the visa, but it is the American citizen who must orginiate the visa application on behalf of the foreign national.

I think you should write to her jet. It is you who she wants. It could be your lucky day. All I get is, "Boo hoo I have just been sacked and they are coming around soon to take away my computor. Can you help me?" No pretty foto, or any offer of sex. Im disillusioned.

Well in the letter there is no mention of "could you buy me a ticket" so what's the harm in seeing where it goes? If she asks then you know it's not going to happen, sounds like she's arranged the visa at her own cost, because if Justin was just playing for the buzz then he certainly wouldn't have sent the money now would he! I'm in Australia so it won't be any good for me, but I have had an experience with a scammer and I've found out that she does not need his invite for a visa if she comes on either a business or tourist visa, is this the same in the USA? Of cause if she's paid and has a visa in hand she will not want to waste it, because it is a large amount for them.

You actually wrote to her and received that response? Martin suggest that this is a spam letter - I don't think mass amiling generally contain pictures. I could be wrong (because I don't know that much about spam) but this file was some 27K - which is bigger than any other spam file I had received. I'm thinking its more of an individual targeted scam - with me as the target of course. I was reluctant to write back to her since I already DO receive enough spam - no need to prove my email address is a good one to these people. I'm setting myself up for MORE. But in the interests of science and experimentation I have written back to her. Will tell you what occurs right here in this VERY FORUM! (I know... all of you can hardly wait) :)

Could be an Olga/Oleg. Or a Natasha/Sasha. But this one is a Nadejda/....? what would be the male equivalent for that one anyway? Anyway - keep your breath baited. I figure it might take her a little while to hunt through glamor magazines and find another picture of the same model she sent me the first picture of. Then there is the scanning of the picture and sending. A scammers life is a tough one.

Yes it is tough, but they don't pay tax and they have flexible hours. I guess their hours are a bit like their truths, flexible. :-) BTW the record time for a reply a friend of mine has achieved so far was 8 minutes from him sending his letter to a IT who supposedly lived 40kms outside the city and had to travel into the cafe' to check IT's emails sending IT's reply. I think Yuri is "Two Timing" you. I'd be devastated in your boots. IT seems like IT might be writing to more than 1. Oh sorry I missed the zeros, I meant to say more than 100. :-) Male equivalent of Nadejda....Him....Boris? :-) I/O
