Are those round trip tickets? I hope so - because if they aren't I wouldn't go with EITHER site. Unless things have changed an awful lot since last year, BOTH sites appear to be expensive.
My lady and I flew from Kiev to Mariupol last August for around $120 each. Both tickets were purchased directly at the airport, from the airline (I think it was Aeroflit).
Thank you very much. It's a Roundtrip ticket. I will have in Hotel Borispol Airport 1 day. Maybe is possible buy and they send to the hotel in the airport. ;)
Bye ¡¡
Have you tried airline directly? www.aerosvit.ua/eng Only they don't show flight to Mariupol, Dontsek is closest about 1 hour drive. I think you need to get to smaller airport(IEV) for flight to Mariupol.
If money is problem, for about $30 can take train, more of a hassle but do able. Last time I looked, fares were about $250 from Kiev-Odessa. I have used ukrainefare quite often.
Must be new summer rates...
You get more flights out of Zhulaney to Mariupol. Actually flying in to Donetsk, which I have done on a few occasions worked the best. More options for getting in and out of Mariupol. Borispol Hotel is a dump.
If I am not mistaken - we did check one or both of these websites prior to going to Ukraine last year and actually purchasing the tickets directly.
I'm pretty sure that they offer a service where they will purchase the ticket for you at a reasonable price (and since our $120 fares were one way - $245 for round trip is a reasonable price for sure) - but to deliver them to you they ask for a high price.
It was like a $60 fee for them to purchase the tickets and have them available for you at your hotel. I think over $100 to have them sent to you.
Ukrainefare can meet one at Borispol with the tickets for a fee of $15, for one person that equates to $7.50 per ticket, for a couple then $3.75 per ticket for delivery.
They've always met me at Borispol and never a problem.
It may have been some other sites that we checked, but the rpices I mentione were for ticket delivery to the HOTEL or to be SENT. Not just to meet you at the airport (where the tickets were purchased anyway).
But Ukraine Tours DOES look like an interesting site. Reasonable prices. Apartments, internal drivers etc.
It is reliable - Could be a very valuable site that we hadn't really utilized before.
jet,
I have been buying tickets from ukrainefare for years, they've even got to know me, and my only critism of them might be that, sometimes, they do not respond to communications as quickly as one may like but they do offer a reliable service.
And jet,
The tickets are not purchased by ukrainefare at the airport!
I recall one evening my flight to Zaporozhye was delayed and such is the nature of 'Motor Sich Airlines' one can never get any accurate information of when the flight may go if at all.
Weighing up my contingencies I appoached the 'Dniproavia', or was it Aerosvit, desk to enquire of the price of a ticket to Dnepropetrovsk, it was a darn site more than the price ukrainefare had previously been charging.
About an hour or two late the flight to Zaporozhye departed, the crew would have been on duty about 15 hours by then, a nice modern AN-140 aircraft, and we landed in a heavy snowstorm into Zaporozhye.
Be careful and remember, sometimes you get what you pay for. I don't understand price quoted is so low from everyone else.... any direct airline price....I saw u-tours page and don't know what airline '7D' is. Maybe is propeller plane??? I know the cost of transfers is very high there compared to others I know of upwards of 120% each way. I would be more at ease if someone can tell you a postive experience with u-tours.
7D is Donbassaero (the Donetsk airline), they've got some old Yak42's and a nicy shiny Airbus A320, whether they know how to fly it or not is a different matter :)
Round trip ticket is equal to two one-way tickets cost. The tickets can be delivered to your address abroad by DHL (USD 95), sent tothe reception desk of your hotel in Kiev (USD 15) or handed-over to you uponairport pick-up (USD 61, transfer to the train station included).
Yeah... THATS what I was talking about above - but here it is in reference to a train ticket. To have it SENT to you costs $95 (I said around $100). My recollection regarding delivery to the hotel desk must have been off - but transfer from the air port to the train station (w/ticket) is $61?!?! A TAXI for that distance is around $20 - the bus (I think) is around $4(?).
Those train ticket prices from Kiev to Mariupol are about what I would expect. I've made that run twice. My fiance and her sister do it all the time. Difference between first class and second is: In first class there are 2 people sharing a cabin - one bed on each side. In second class there are four people in same size small cabin. Two bunk beds on each side.
