Anybody know what it costs for a woman to get a passport who lives in 1) Ukraine, 2) Belarus, or 3) Tatarstan (Russian Republic)?
I know it's nearly impossible for a woman to visit me in America, but I'll be doing some traveling this summer and would like to have three women who live in the above countries get themselves passports and visit me elsewhere. I also know that it's not terribly expensive to get a passport in America (I've been through three over the last thirty years) but what will it cost them to get a passport in their own countries?
Along with whatever the members here might know, perhaps the moderators might have some information. Thanks to all!
the state fee for obtaining an international passport in Russia (anywhere in Russia) is 400 RUR (which is about $17 currently). The new biometric passport will be 2.5 times as much - around $42 but both of these types are valid.
Am not sure about Ukraine or Belarus but would suspect the fee does not exceed $30 in both of these countries.
Most girls of these girls put on their profile "I love to travel" so I would assume either they already have a passport or they would at least know what countries they can and can't travel to.
Anybody knows if Ukraine children at age 5 need own passport - or will be on mothers passport?
How easy or difficult is it for a Ukraine to visit into EU community? I know they normal need visa and a invitation - but if they first is in a country in the community I guess they can travel freely?
wow this is an old thread, and we still haven't got a passport for olya! lol
i think it's still not too difficult for ukrainians to travel to ex-cccp countries, even if they are now in the eu.
we haven't checked the price of passports recently, but everything has gone up in price since last summer. ciggies have doubled in price! you could easily buy a pack of ukrainian ciggies last year for just over 2grv not you're looking at over 4... :-( (still mahoosively cheap though!)
Kirkland: Late response. I established way back when that “I love to travel” very often means an out of their own city trip/s to visit a friend/s during the summer holidays. International travel may or may not be included and if it is should usually be “I would love to travel”.
yep... been busy with work and almost forgot about this forum! all work and no play these days. well... a lot of work anyway!
> We not sure if coming over yet ??? - but 80% chance will later this month
ah, cool! i have so far failed to meet anyone from the forum, even though i've spent over 8 months here in total so far! (going to rectify that situation with bowhunters next trip)
yep, my phone number is the same, changed email addy, but still check my old one sometimes too.
i'm not working in ukraine, decided against that, so i'm working for clients from the usa mostly. being a software geek it doesn't really matter where i am but it would have been nice to actually work here in an office... i think working from our little flat here in kiev is driving me slowly insane!
My girl is in Kerch. She wants an international passport. She is asking $200 USD for this which is in line with Maxirat's post plus a little more. She is doing this through an agent.
Is this normally done with an agent? Is it probably because there are no passport agency's in Kerch, being a small town? I am having a problem understanding why an agent needs to be involved unless. I thought you just go to the passport office with photographs and documents.
I actually went with a girl in Odessa to the passport office so she could get her international passport. There was no agent involved, and the office was part of a larger government office complex with 5-6 different offices for passports, and other documents.
Kerch is a small town, and if they don't have this office there should be a larger city nearby that processes passports and documents for the region.
The cost seems to change every week according the exchange rate. Over the summer it was about 1000 grivna for the two week processing, although I heard it is now up to 1200 grivna, so figure around $125-150.
I also have a friend who says he can get anybody an international passport in one day, for more money. Last time I heard him talk about this it was around $200 or $300, I believe. He says it is "real," but not "completely real," whatever that means.
I talked to her today. She says the agent is with a passport company. I don't know if that is a government agency. My worry is not the money. My worry is after she spends her money, does she have a passport? I sent her the money today. It doesn't matter at this point, but I still want to know.
Tridant, I appreciate your input. I have not given her anything exhorbitant or even close to what I have read here. I can see when it goes out of hand. There have been times I told her no.
When I first started this FSU thing, I told myself that in order for me to deserve a beautiful wife with conservative values, and one that would work with me, not against me as my ex wives has, I will help bring up a child (hers).
This is the main reason why I have been sending money. She is a single mother. I did not buy her flowers or candy for her birthday or her child's birthday. I sent her money, close to what I would have spent.
She doesn't need this passport yet for her travel here, but she needs it for her work. Her work offered their employees travel to either Italy, Germany or France to whomever comes up with an international passport first. In addition to her salary, she will then get commissions for the contracts she gets.
I talked to her again today. She will get her passport in one week.
Tridant, again I appreciate it. I tell of scams against me for the benefit of others. If I get scammed this time, it will be my contribution to motherhood.
