Yes, same time. Saw a bust on a pillar type thing of Karl Marx, hung around Lenin square sometimes, when not getting fried on the beach, never near a statue of Lenin tho.
Lets face it how many towns in Ukraine have a statue of Lenin.
I'm sure I read somewhere (maybe here) that there is a statue of Lenin facing a McDonalds.
Kirkland: You say you hung around Lenin Square, but never near a statue of Lenin? You should have looked UP then. Because the statue of Lenin is located high on a pedestal in Lenin Square.
Certainly you recall the McDonalds right near by - don't you?
Don't ask me how it happened. Its an AMAZING coincidence. That the STATUE of Lenin is located right in the middle of Lenin SQUARE! I mean - what are the odds of having a staue and s square in the same place - with the same name?????
If you mean $800 Aus return London/Odessa then thats a good price for a flight. You can't get any cheaper, believe me (I thought you had already booked it?). Any option maybe cheaper but its going to take you 5 days of travel to get there and back.
If he goes to www.skyscanner.net then there are plenty of low cost carrier flights to countries that border Ukraine (but he can do the donkey work for himself though) and then he could travel by surface to UKraine but he needs to check which country(s) he may need a visa for.
Are you in Soviet London Nooga? Didnt you book your whole trip before you went? Do you have trip insurance? I am not sure if it would pay missed flights because of a googsey falling asleep in the sun or not.
Us old googseys that read your first post where you wrote--------"now listen here.
I'm show you all how its done...
First of all I am a 20 year old KID from Australia... In August (summer) we are travelling to Odessa and Sevastopol to SNIFF GIRLS OUT and GET THEIR RATS OUT... We are not struggling. We are all normal boys. You are old men looking for a wife in Ukraine (struggling)
Now, we have booked an apartment in SEVASTOPOL - 100 a night. Girls will love it.
We contacted the UKRAINIAN EMBASSY here and we have told them of our plans and they confirmed that the idea that we had was UNPRECEDENTED! and said that only men of 35+ even Think about doing what we are about to do. "------------
Nooga you disappoint me. I was counting on learning something from you but I already know how to get sunburned, and I have been lost a couple times in my life but never in somebody elses country without knowing how to get out though that would be a first, I was more interested in learning about Ukraine or the Former countries of the Soviet Union rather than Soviet France, Soviet Scotland, Soviet London, or the Soviet era Boeing 777s.
Do you plan to go forward with this or put your tail between your legs and retreat. The problems you have had in the EU countries may be mild compared to what you will face in the FSU lands.
Jetmba, were talking about 2 different towns here. Crimea is a big place remember (At least compared to where I'm coming from).
I'm assuming you're meaning Odessa or Yalta or some place like that.
I'm talking about Kerch. Right at the far end of the peninsula next to Russia.
McDonalds hasn't spread its tentacles that far yet.
The only western things you'll see there are the black BMW's of the local mafioso.
Noogie, you can get flight to Odessa from London no problem. Stopover in Prague, should cost no more that 600 usd.
Months ago he claimed to have his tickets booked to Ukraine, then weeks ago his tickets were only booked to London, then he claimed to be travelling with Transaero to Kiev, not Odessa, and now he's thinking of backpacking it to Ukraine!
Touche' Land of Oz. (Thats nooga-soviet for "good point").
For a fellow googsey you have a remarkable memory. Its too bad that most of us beyond the age of say 25 suffer from Altzheimers and can't function as well as nooga does.
I was gone when nooga started this trip I think (again... that Altzheimers...). I don't seem to recall him actually visiting the FSU. DId he?
I mean he's been in Soviet Western Europe now dealing with Soviet Keyboards and things. Now he first wants to go to Odessa. Has he even been to a REAL FSU country yet?
"man, HOW DO I GET TO ODESSA without paying $800 aud? "
Go to the harbor and look for a friendly sea captain who will agree to take you on and make you his "boy". Tell him that in return for a free trip to Odessa you'll gladly go "around the world" with him.
That might work. (They get lonely only having the company of Soviet parrots every now and then.)
