My 5-th day of my adventure. It is a very interesting experience 1) One month before my trip. I hired a local guy Armin Sarg arminsarg<at>yahoo<dot>com for $500 (labor) + $150 (set-up fee )to look for potential marriage prospect in Nikolaev. He set up a profile for me on mamba<dot>ru but I am quite surprise he does not even use vk.com He basically chat up with the lady on the site and get the phone number. However, the ladies she get for me is something I get totally get myself in California. The quality is really low. So I treat his service is a write-off.... I would not recommend his service to anyone. I did manage to have a date with the only one English speaking girl he finds from the website. That girl is 19 yrs translator student from a local university. She is a stunning model but she is more about to practice her English and have a free meal. So this is a donation/write-off again. 2) I also chat with some girls on www<dot>fiance<dot>com It seems to me that one can easily tell if the girl is real OR a man is writing a letter..... e.g. extra photos. video chat at her own house can indicate she is NOT a man But the tricky part is if one has little knowledge of Russian then mostly likely a translator is needed at least for the 1st or 2nd meeting. I would say one can easily tell if a girl is into the man at the 1st 5 minutes of the meeting. After all human communication is 95% beyond verbal 5-senses communications. It is an exchange of psychic energy. To my surprise. the two girls that I met so far from the agency both are real. However, one of them again will be a write-off due to my own short-coming. 3) Go in the right time I observe that the best time to go is spring or autumn. I have thrown away good money, along the way of learning how some things work in the former Soviet lands -- and from what I have read on this forum, so have others. To me, your recommendations (part 4) are quite sensible. Learning Russian is a very big investment of time and energy, and it is also very useful. I hope things work out better for you, and look forward to reading how it goes. I haven't been to Nikolaev (which is actually the Russian name, in Ukrainian it's Mykolaiv) -- but from what I have read, it is a Very Big City for the "dating industry," by which I mean extracting as much money as possible, from foreign men. It is wise one respect everyone's opinion and observations. Everyone observe and interpret his/her experience through his/her own set of physical body(5 senses), programming(life experience and the filtered information out of it). So Smart A's observation and understanding is as valid as MahaSiddha000's or as anyone else in this forum observation and understanding. This person has not ever met SmartA so this person cannot tell if SmartA is a 50 years old Yank or not. First impressions are: 1) Every beautiful girl in UA is on an agency dating site, 'cause the girls on mamba are altogether average... OR, what is represented on the agency sites is fantasy. 2) I can count on the fingers of one hand, out of 50 pages viewed, the number of girls who listed themselves as seeking a relationship. Almost universally their purpose is listed as "friendship". My point is, if they are not listing themselves as seeking a romantic relationship, they certainly aren't looking for someone to come there, zip them up in a suitcase, and take them 10,000 km from everything they know.... 3) The maximum age difference any seem comfortable with is about 5 years. 19 y/o, lol nooooooo, no way; been there, done that, worn the T shirt (and the T shirt says, 'the sex is great but everything else is so irritating it just isn't worth it')... way to immature. I am 46, the age bracket I have been looking in is 30 - 40; given what I saw from the girls profiles on mamba, the youngest I should be looking for is maybe 37. The agency dating sites are full of 25 y/o saying they are looking for 30 - 50... however, that does not seem to fit with the mindset of the girls on mamba. I am sure there are many good ones will just take time to find. Me I am off to Russia soon to be with my lady, she has never asked for a cent from me always offers to help. We talk every day on skype her english is very good. She has never given me a reason to doubt her. Mostly we enjoy each others company. Already has our trip planned out. Just a little background...I've been on some scam sites and 3 free ones that I like and I've found some nice girls on those that I'm communicating with. There were scams on there too. One gal emailed me out of the blue, cried the blues how she loved me and wanted to fly to US. Said she had all her papers. I think that she was probably working with another girl named Elena, elenaboiko@lovemail.org.ua, because it started just after I sent her my private email. Anyway, Google is so cool when it come to blasting scammers! I just typed in a bit of her email and I was directed to a scam site that had ALL her letters (under a different name) almost word-for-word with different pictures, very cool. I just replied with that attached and she stopped contacting me. I wonder why?- lol!
