I visited Ukraine in 2010 and stayed 4 months. I was 26 and my Ukrainian GF was 23. A normal age gap I think. I have not been back since. I am thinking about going again in July for an extended period of time (3+ months). I have been using Elena's Models (no luck) and Dream Marriage (Not much luck but so much opportunity!) but I am not sure if the girls are serious and honest. I am targeting ladies from 19-26 (usually 20-22). Am I wasting my time and most importantly my money?
Honestly, I am only 19 and decent looking enough that I don't need to go to a poor country to get sex. Sex is not my motivation for going to Ukraine or using these sites anyway. However, I am not in a rush to fall in love and get married. I am 70%+ sure I do not want children.
Is it time for me to give up on meeting Ukrainian ladies? If I am not prepared to pay for presents, holidays etc and I am not in a hurry to get married and I do not want to start a family... should I just stop?
The reason I am using these sites is to meet girls to date and start a serious relationship with when I am in Ukraine. in 2011 I was in Kiev, this time I will be in Odessa, Nikolaev, Donetsk etc. I also want to visit Lviv. Is it true that girls in South Ukraine are just looking for money? Especially the 18-28 year old ones?
I have 2 girls contact info from Dream Marriage. As soon as I stopped talking to them on Dream Marriage site and tried to email/Skype with them they both became evasive. I do not talk to them anymore.
I am not a fan of discos or anything like that so I will not really be going to Ukraine and trying to meet someone in person.
Can you talk me into or out of being in Ukraine and dreaming of having a normal relationship with a Ukrainian girl? No money, no marriage etc just boy meets girl and they date, have sex, go on the occasional holiday and act like genuine friends with each other.
wtf, it is very easy. 18 - 30 year old women are not that serious about meeting someone for the rest of their lives. Im sure there are some, but think about it. They are at their most beautiful and get letters from HUNDREDS of men that have much more money than you (or me).
At your age its amazing you have given up on American women (Im assuming you live here) It is usually not until later that you realize all of the good women are gone. At your age they arent gone. You may wish to wait until you get a little older and fall into the more sincere age group. On the other hand you can just go over, have a good time, and who knows, maybe you can meet one who is sincere and real.
Im still trying to figure out how you went from being 26 to 19.
Is there some voodoo magic you have. I will pay to go back 20 years.
its not making sense.
i looked at this quite different it seems in my first visit.
so when you were there WTF, did you actually ask people if they would like to live abroad?
seems maybe not
i'm not taking into account whats stated on them silly sites.
put it another way, how many Ukraines do you actually know living abroad?
i know lots of Russians, and i mean lots,,,but i only know of two Ukraines.
and one of those is male and has run back home due to his child issues here.
Yes, I meant to say I'm 29. I am from Australia, not the USA. The thin attractive women in Australia go with the local popular guy, not the shy smart world traveling online business owner. I could find a good looking girl in Australia but since I do not wish to live in Australia she would have to be willing to travel with me and that would lead to the same scamming/with me for traveling or money motives that concern me about Ukrainian girls anyway.
Honestly, I would prefer to move to Ukraine and make a living online whilst sharing an apartment with a girl, to flying over and visiting and then returning to marry them and they flying them over to Australia to live. I think most men who bring the girl to USA/UK/AU etc do so because they have to be in their home country due to their job. I don't have that problem (at the moment).
Anyway, I have given up on Dream Marriage and I will be staying in Bulgaria and Romania for3-4 months. I might head on up to Ukraine in December to experience a cold winter for once and to go skiing etc. I will try and meet girls from Mamba or in person. I might try some non-per letter sites such as Elena's Models again, who knows.
Basically I know that all the good girls in my country are not gone at my age, but they are boring and I can't stand living in Australia anymore. So, I will head to the FSU and roam around, I will just see what happens.
Has anyone ever purchased an apartment in Kiev, Lviv or Odessa? They have some decent 1-2 bedroom apartments near the city centers that cost less than $100K USD. It would be nice to buy one with cash and then just work and go out drinking, whilst not worrying about having to pay rent etc. Is it that easy?
No, not gay. And I am quite smart. I have lived in Ukraine for 4 months in 2010. I know what it is like. I was not shy when I was out drinking, but I find meeting strangers in a bar is not for me. There are plenty of non-gay shy Aussie guys.
Why shouldn't I pick Ukraine? And, where would I be better suited to?
I know what it was like to live in Kiev and to visit Odessa briefly and to see what life is like in a little village in Cherkassy Oblast. I don't know what its like to live in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Odessa, Nikolaev, Donetsk etc. I feel like after a few months I had had enough of Kiev and the only reason I liked it was because I made a good friend or two there and had a girlfriend that (at the time) I got along with. Apart from that the scamming, corruption, mafia, cost of accommodation (price is too high for what I get) and chaos of the traffic etc got to me. Also, the girls seem to look for money, expect presents etc. It seems like Russian women that I have met are interested more in more income from their career and to escape the weather and their culture of drunk men, violence etc. Ukrainians didn't seem to leave. Russians seem to have better options overseas with big immigrant communities. They probably wouldn't accept a Ukrainian girl into their social group. I don't know. Also, I am not set on living in Ukraine forever anyway. So, I would prefer Russia, but I am not sure which city to start with.
Bulgaria is ok for a place to live, but I have the feeling I do not like the darker, for ethnic looking women from there. I like the Baltics, but I see the same scamming and chaos in Riga and Tallinn too.
Also, I liked my time in Poland as well. Has anyone tried to meet women in Croatia or Serbia? They look nice and whilst being near the EU, they still have lower incomes, less opportunity and want to leave (thus motivated to consider a foreign man, correct?).
Well I can offer them love, better treatment than the local men, sex. :-P Seems like money and leaving Ukraine is the biggest motivation for Ukrainian women to date foreign men. So, is it my fault if I offer those things and consider those factors when I try to meet a girl?
Any recommendations for which Russian cities I should visit? Anyone tried Poland, Romania, the Balkans?
WTF,, the motivated to consider a foreign man...
between Russia and Ukraine there's something like 18-20 million more females.
it is a phenomena Russian scientist are trying to change.
so there's a lot of girls with limited options of a family unless bigamy is in.
Croatia and Serbia has no relation with the Baltics when it comes to foreign marriage, they don't have this same problem that i'm aware of, they are more into hate thy neighbour stuff.
if money is their motivator then you have the wrong person or you have picked her for your own reasons..
Yes, I want to offer a girl a better opportunity for her to do something with her life and that will attract the wrong type of girl, probably. The other option is to live there. I am not sure I could do that.
Maybe I should just abandon my plan to find a sexy FSU girl altogether?
WTF, the thing you must remember is that many girls dont always see moving to the USA as a better opportunity in and of itself.
Its a foreign country they know nothing about. If you are a genuine guy and show her affection, security and opportunity within a
safe relationship then a genuine girl will probably give it a whirl and will consider going to your country.
Id be worried about the ones who seem too eager to go with you.
Rick, I hope you are right. I can probably offer better financial security than a local guy. I also like to treat women as equals, include them in the decision making process... This hasn't gone down well and it has made me lose a little respect for their women and culture. Anyway, I can offer affection too, I just need to know the girl is serious before I start having feelings.
Someone mentioned Ukrainian-matchmaker and it looks good. She charges $100 upfront and it is $700 in total for her service. She looks offline in universities etc. Less competition, less scammers, less money... Does that sound right?
I know a couple of them. It does seem the odds are a bit better for dollars spent. One in Kherson keeps telling me I need to quit playing around and
get serious before Im too old. Im sure she is right;)
Ukraine is a great place to live. It only sucks if you are poor... for that matter those in the village often dont see financial status as an impediment to
happiness.
WTF, one thing you will find in most Ukrainian women is that they want a strong and authoritative husband but also want some liberty to express themselves and pursue their own ideas and dreams within the realm of a protected environment. If you treat her well and offer financial and emotional security then when you say no or dont approve of something(put your foot down, so to speak) then she will respect that and comply. She will pursue her dreams but still have dinner ready when you come home to a clean house:)
In many aspects, Ukraine offers more freedom than the US with very few exceptions. Ive met many Ukrainians who moved to the US in the 1990s but have chosen to return because they can have twice the lifestyle on half the money. Save up $400,000 and bring it to Ukraine and with banks paying 10-12% for foreigners and up to 15% for citizens its easy to see how you can have the lifestyle it takes 100k per year to achieve in the US.
Well, I think I will try her service when I am in Kiev this November/December. $100 to get her to setup a few dates just seems better than spending hours buying contact details online to discover the girl has ran away. Even if it doesn't all work out, the max cost is $700 and I spent that on dream-marriage and have nothing to show for it, not even one contact or date. So, this seems better. She goes to universities and asks around, maybe I can order a doctor with blonde hair between 20-25? :-D
I was thinking this as well. Ukraine is better than USA, UK or even Australia apart from transport, legal systems and health care. What is the childrens schooling like? I am in Romania now and it is amazing how I can live the an upper class person here for the same money as a starving person in my home country.
Can any foreigner open the 10-12% bank account? That is an awesome return. Is it insured? What is the minimum investment? Is there capital restrictions, if I want to get my money back out?
A foreigner can open a bank account but you must get a tax identification number first which is similar to a TIN in the USA.
this process involves going early to the registrar's office and often involves waiting 4 hours which is typical when doing any
official/government business. after doing so it takes about 2-3 weeks to receive it and after you have it you can then open an account, buy
property, etc.
Keep in mind, many banks are not stable and one minor catastrophe can close one as they are often small businesses with as few as a couple million in assets.
There is no central insurance and the daily transfer limit is 15,000UAH ($1875)without paying a tax on the transfer but you can make unlimited transfers.
The exception is for real estate and you would need the paperwork for the real estate transaction for the exemption.
I recommend only 3 banks as of this writing and this recommendation is due to the fact that these 3 banks have strong foreign backing.
*UkrSibbank, which is part of BNP Paribas Group. This bank has a branch in Kyiv that caters to French and English speakers.
*Raiffeisen Bank Aval which is part of Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International AG.
*ProCredit Bank is part of ProCredit Bank Group which operates in 22 countries. Ironically, I use Pro Credit bank in Nicaragua.
I would not recommend these if I wasnt willing to put my own money there.
PRAVEX-BANK is also a large bank 100% owned by Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo. The Italian part worries me a bit given Italy's banking issues but they also have services for English speakers.
There may be other good ones but
The bank I use most for daily banking is PrivatBank which is mostly Ukrainian owned but very strong with capitalization of more than 14 billion.
They offer fee free banking if you keep a low minimum balance or have term deposit.
The schools in Ukraine overall are similar quality to better US schools which unfortunately doesnt say much but there are some really good private schools.
WTF, don't do this. Meet women here on FIance.com. Deal directly with her. Don't pay an agency that is crazy! A couple hundred dollars here and you can contact a hundred women directly and thin it down until you have3 the one. Let me tell you thins. I wrote and got 499 letters from one woman in a 6 month period. They were sincere, caring, and I could see she paid attention to each word I told her. She would ask when I just dropped a subject a few letters later. She cared more about me than I did and honestly I was in love with her before I ever got on a plane to meet her. The great women are there, just look hard and don't waste your money.
