Del:
My lady sending SMS to Ukraine sends in the following format:
Country code
Cellphone provider code
cellphone number.
You might try asking her the name of the provider and do a web search, because so many Russian/Ukranian cellphone companies offer a free web-based SMS service, albeit with a limited character capacity, usually about 160.
The other thing that I can tell you Del` is that in some FSU countries the only way to send an SMS is to call a relay centre, they type it and send it for you, thats certainly the case in Uzbekistan.
I couldnt send SMS msgs at all there, and noone could send them to me either by any other means that the call centre.
Not all cell phones, or cell phone companies are created equal :o))
Besides mate, havnt you had enough phone sex for one day at 4 hours a go !!!! ;o)))
SMS sex is different Tim.........you can read it over and over again........:))))
Glad to be back online,as my PC threw a hissy fit last week and would'nt play, mind you I did have more time to concentrate on "other" things..............LOL.
Mine got annoyed coz we had a power cut yesterday !!!
Whne the power went off the machine was running and online, so it trashed the boot partition !!
Luckilly I am not running that awful Microsoft stuff !!]
As Im on Linux it just needed a reinstall of the boot partition and a few tweaks and Im here again, all dat intack :o)))
Try that trick with "Millenuim Edition" !!!!
if you're unsure about her gsm's number - and ARE sure about yours - let her send you a sms? ID's are sent with sms's worldwide, not always with calls (across borders).
You need a '+' (the country-exit code) followed by 11 digits, probably the first a 7, Russia's country-code (in this case the next 3 are area/network, then 7 for subscriber).
Zero's can be in there as well (also after that first 7) but total = 11 digits.
Fiddle around a bit? Who cares if someone else gets your message? Hey, you might meet someone nicer ;-)))
Russia sends delivery-reports. If your SP routes them through you should get them, but set your validity-period to 'max' (phone-setting) to allow her to re-enter the reception area again (underground, remote area's etc).
funny but part of my mobile number reads "007" too...
...ends in "661", I couldn't get "666" and 4hrs is only foreplay Tim. ;)
The point is taken Thunder about getting her to send the first message as a return ID would be made available. I'll also get her to check her details locally as I in turn will contact O2 to get a correct configuration as well as reading through google today, having lost an hour already with the clocks and stuff. And yes, some lucky girl (hopefully not a boy) probably thought her luck was in last night getting my test text. ;)
SMS is a great way to keep in contact with your girl in the FSA countries! They use SMS over there as their primary form of communication over there. I send SMS messages to my girls to let them know I have sent them an email. That way they know it is worth the trip to go to the I-Cafe. Also, a great little tool to keep yourself fresh on their mind. Just say "hi" once in awhile. Many girls don't speak English but a majority of them can read and write it much much better than they speak it. Use this tool guys! It is worth it's weight in gold!
you're right, their reading and writing is more often than not better than their spoken skills and using the mobile as a means to keep you fresh in their mind is a cunning plan. :)
...mine says she hasn't been eating hardly a thing because I've been on her mind so much...she'll waste away to nothing once I start texting her. lol
"Many girls don't speak English but a majority of them can read and write it much much better than they speak it."
Thats because Soviet Goverment insisted that all at school must at least learn how to read English so that they could understand for themsleves US propaganda, and not rely on anyone else to translate for them so they knew they were reading it exactly as it was written by the US mate :o))
Not so daft were those Soviets you know :o)))
I never saw US people being taught Russian so they could understand that propaganda !!
But as for speaking it, until 1991 virtually no Russians had regular contact with the west, therefore speaking it was not necessary, they never had the chance to practice to few were good or fluent, but of course its all changing still now 13 years on :o))
I've been told that her mobile company doesn't have a contract with O2. As I don't know her company yet, I can't do a specific search to see if they have some other means of SMS delivery but will take a look via google now.

Isn't it 8 for the subscriber?
(that's what I have)
