I did not know that about Prozac T, but I do not doubt it; however, I would not recommend Prozac to anyone. It is some nasty S****. It can do wonders for some patients, but I can also become your worst nightmare. That is a fact for most medications, but Prozac is just way out there. All SSRI’s or antidepressants (including Prozac-fluoxetine-) will actually decrease an individual’s sex drive; in fact, it is one of the most common side effects. But since we all are different, some people sometimes react in a total and opposite way to the medication, or they just do not react at all. Some of these individuals are called Atypical. So, I would not really try Prozac with the hope to get a woody because it is probably not going to happen. In the case of Donkey for example, I would suggest a cocktail of Thorazine (antipsychotic) Rispedol (schizophrenia) Prozac (just for the kick of it) Lithene (a mood stabilizer) Valium (anxiety) Viagra (woody pecker) and pot (to put him to sleep so he does not access this forum again). And yes Donkey, I have seen the movie, and I wish lobotomies were still legal so I could give you one; in your case it may actually help. Have consider shock treatment donky? Sorry about the medication crap...but I think information is power, so in all honesty, avoid most psychiatric medications if you have depression or anxiety, and try therapy first; unless you are suicidal. SSRI's are a strange class of narcotic. It is one of the few where researchers cannot tell what exactly is happenining to the brain. Is it creating more receptors at the synaptic cleft or does it increase the amount of neurotransmitter released into the synapse.... It's like Lithium, we know it does something, something positive more often than not if administered carefully so we go with it. Drug companies like to advertise results not the basis of cause/effect. But the perscription for pot, well, that I can get behind 100%. In fact, green leaf tea for everyone! Of course you would never treat anybody who was wildly euphoric one moment and deeply depressed the next, for a Bipolar Disorder, if you knew that the person was in love. How 'stable' Goethe himself was when he wrote the poem, I do not know. Fortunately he did not see his therapist, so he continued writing... And, he was much better at it than I am. What I really meant to bring forward for debate was some nebulous subject about Society's and Culture's general view on Passion, and to what degree it is accepted and 'normal' to let your feelings dictate your decisions and actions. (but would not have been a good attention-grabbing headline). Steinbeck once wrote a story where a man shoots his wife's lover when he finds the two in bed. (He also horse-whips the wife). On a slightly (but only slightly) different note: Was the movie Grapes of Wrath ever shown in the USSR? (I heard that this movie which was considered very 'left-wing' in the US and showed how bad life was for the poor, was not too popular with the censors in the USSR, because these dirt-poor people were actually driving around in a car [however old and badly maintained...]. But I never got the story verified.)
