This is the only reason why I was seen sharing the same piece of pine next to his mother, her boyfriend of 10 years and a long time married friend couple of hers, George and Cathy. Their ages are 62/51 & 52/54. The mood was civil and cheerful because the ocassion was celebratory, but I do not like any of these people.....and boy do they hate my guts, lol!! Last year my oldest daughter graduated from the same school and the same scene took place without any incidented, arguments or even a frown thrown at each other. I had a similar encounter with my ex girlfriend. When she popped off her mouth about not being able to find a woman here in the states and any woman will move to get out of poverty. I had to remind her that I was living in poverty with her, but not in the financial realm. Then I blasted her with both barrels because she pissed me by constantly calling her Marisa. I said you ignorant bimbo, first of all her Name is Larissa, second in an intellectual battle with her you would be coming to a gunfight with a knife. Thirdly she is coming her for more than an economic change of status, something more pure and deeper than your feeble mind could absorb. Then as a parting shot I had to remind her that her cousin is now looking at women from the FSU and neither him or I were stupid enough to marry the same person twice! It is from back in early June. There are many things in here worth looking at. My instructive story. Toad's attitude towards Lena. Annika revealing a great deal of truth about these women's motivation. There is also a camaraderie and a lot of humor. I suggest that anybody that is new to settle down and plough through this. It will be worth the efforts and you will wonder what has happened to all of these old forum members. Why the anger, attacks and bitterness of late. Everybody here is different. I do not agree with Nas's political stance. So what? It doesn't matter. Others think that I am an idiot, again who cares? Sprit is off smoking a fat one somewhere. Again who cares? Sometimes despair, sadness and failure happens. Then good things and hope rises out of the ashes. I feel sad at the accusations and false posts that have been made against Toad. If anybody deserves the Telenovela offer it should be me not him. And I want everyone to understand that Toad and I have banged heads in the past. I do not agree with his attitude sometimes. There have been times when he has made me very angry but it passed. There are things here that are far more important than how I feel or my stupid criticisms. There just can't be too much room here for a self righteous attitude. Even though I know Toad is one of the greatest proponents of that personality trait. These threads are full of practical information. How to cross Moscow from airport to airport. The best way to address parents. Ideas on suitable gifts and the whys and where fors of agencies. There is something else here though. That is the ability to look and share vicariously in somebody elses happiness and sadness and learn from that. Marina and I. Lena and Toad. Nas and Larissa. UB Galadiator Trad etc. It so good to know that you are not alone and somebody else is going through the exact same crap that you are. You are dead right in what you say about this place being a wealth of info for those starting out on what could be the journey of a lifetime,but all too often petty personal differences creep into it. Yes we all have different opinions and for the most part i can accept that,although even I have been known to get the flamethrower out on occasion! But as you point out.....hopefully the forum is about more than personality clashes.....wherever they originate from. So I wholeheartedly endorse your call for a return to sanity,and hope the playground behaviour shown by some members can stay where it belongs.....not here! When the women say something about drinking they do not mean that you are teetotal. They just don't want someone who drinks a glass of neat vodka at breakfast. I am not joking they literally mean that. In fact if you refuse a small vodka when the toasting is going on especially at a family 'do' then there is the risk of causing insult. However it was my experience that if you say no there isn't any problem. If I don't want anything I always say I am allergic to alcohol. When they ask what happens I say I get drunk!! That causes a laugh and breaks the situation up.
