groon - EXACTLY my point (regarding FedEx's charges).
A guy I met who was a fellow Romance Tour participant also spent $70 on a small package sent to Odessa,
USPS priority is good for parcels that size too as long as they are under 4 pounds (and a couple of ounces I think) and fit into a Priority Envelope.
But I tend to ship bigger packages (old big hearted me) in regular boxes. Most recently (last week) I sent a 9 pound package via USPS Global Express with a delivery time of 3 to 5 business days for a cost of $54.00.
Haven't heard yet about this package but I have sent about ten similar packages over the last all by the same service and have had great outcomes. My buddy from the Tour in Ukraine has had very poor experiences.
Incidently - just a tip if shipping WITHIN the US - don't EVER bother using USPS Priority Mail. For the $3.55 you spend for a regular letter (vs 37 cents first class) all you get is a fancy impressive cardboard envelope. Its handles, (for domestic mail) just like first class - in fact it travels in the same exact trays.
Groon,
I sent CDs, a "you're fired - the Donald" T-shirt and other small things via US postal parcel registered/certified to Tyumen, Russia. It got there in 3 weeks with no problem whatsoever. Paid just over $20
I should explain I HATE waiting three weeks for anything to get there. I have to admit - usually I've told the girl that something is on the way. And if I'm even talking to her WEEKLY I get sick of explaining "It will get there."
(Besides that, as an admited procrastinator, I usually have nothing prepared three or four weeks before a girls birthday - so I NEED the package to get there in a week if possible.)
(And they get sick of waiting>)
The Global Express Service promises the package with be there in three to five business days. Of course the caveat here is that you are also at the mercy of the local courier or government to get teh package to her (or notify her) in a timely manner.
If you HAVE 3 weeks or more - Global Priority is fine.
Yeah I want my package to arrive in at most 1 week. The CD will be a test run. I want to send her something for her birthday. I have a month and a half to find something reliable. :-)
I sent a pkg to Brezevoka Russia by the US Postal service. The girl was a scammer and the pkg came back intact. I sent a pkg to Moldova too us postal service and it arrived intact as well so I have faith in the Us postal service,
Just remember you generally have three levels of service:
Parcel Post: Package can be larger. Takes 3 weeks (or more). Least expensive.
Global Priority: Package can be up to 4 pounds (and a few ounces? better check). More expensive than Parcel Post. Takes a week to ten days.
Global EXPRESS: Package can be large (again). More expensive than Global Priority - but LESS expensive than FEDX, DHL or United Parcel. Three to five business day - to get there (and then hope local courier is also timely).
" Is searching for Russian Women for the rich, ..or the well to do's? "
Rich beats poor any day!
Ever since pre-historic times. Any stone age woman who married (or whatever) a poor 'provider' would starve and see her children starve, which would reduce her chances of contributing to the gene-pool.
The stone age men were looking for women who could bear children (so he could contribute to the gene-pool), and since then men have been looking for the right body structure in women. (The Americans refer to the part of her body on which she sits from time to time - when she is not walking and wriggling it).
Give it thousands of years of selective breeding, and women looks for good providers and men look for women with the right ratio between waist and hip measurement.
Question for someone out there. Do you have to register with any agency once you arrive in Ukraine? I will be leaving in 30 days to meet my lady. Would appreciate the info. Thanks alot. Michael
malkounis:
by agency I assume you mean a government agency.....if that is so then you can rest easy.......there is no requirement to register on arrival in Ukraine, unlike Russia or Belarus.
