It seems l am part of the 20% that end in divorce. One thing for sure the next one will be from the slums. My Ukrainian friend has told me much about Moscow and it has totally discouraged me from even thinking about a wife from there. It was purely satire. You have heard it before the rant and rave of "western" anything. Izi I must agree with you on many counts. I have had very similar conversations with fsu women telling the same stories. Many have said that they just can not find anyone that will stand up and be a strong example of their "real man". It would seem that lying and cheating are very common as well with women too having many sponsors in some cases and still have marriages. Many seem to be looking for men that can love or be tender to them as well as making the hard desicions and providing a stable future for their family. That is what I always took that to mean. In other words they are married but basically internationally hooking to make ends meet. I can see that there are women here that do that. They were living off Daddy's money and saw this new potential wife as a threat. They told her in no uncertain terms that they would make her and his life a misery. In the end it is this dissillusion in expectations that results in divorce. I think it is human to try to find and concentrate on the good things and we justify to ourselves that this will not realy bother me or I am sure she will get better and it rarely does. Best bet is to be honest and strait forward with them (and yourself) and communicate freely. With a divorce rate of above 5% in the 4th and 5th year for east girls would indicate that some marriage swindel is going on but not excesivly so. The odds are greatly in our favor to lead a happier life with a foreign woman than with a western one. If the odds of getting divorced happen to be the same, I would still much rather take my chances with a younger, sleeker, sexier, light years more educated and skilled foreign woman than with the average american or western woman. Now if the odds of getting divorced are greater than the conventional west/west marriages many of us would still find it worthy of taking the challenge with the younger, sexier, sleeker, more educated and skilled woman. The divorce rate here in the US is 75% for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th marriages. If that is the same rate as being married to a woman from the FSU, I'll gladly take the woman from the FSU and enjoy it while it lasts. I have nothing to back up this statement but I feel that the divorce rate is less than that when married to a FSU woman. I say this because I know of many more successful ones than unsuccessful. I could be wrong but I am still getting married soon and will do my best to make it work.
