Jet.
We are all still here and do pop in, I do feel guilty of how little i check out the forum but to all on site - feel free to e-mail me if in need of help.. but am spending my time with my new wife as all others will do when they are at last together.. ;)
Jet, this is the first time I have even visited the forum in over two months and you are correct. Nothing has changed much. I am currently a two time visiter to my fiance in RUssia and now all we have to wait on is the interview in Moscow, all other approvals came through. It does seem abysmal most of the threads, all a bunch of whining and carrying on and very little hard core discussion about finding, visiting, loving russian women (or all FSU girls for that matter.). Hell, I am offering up my invitation to anyone who wants to private email me to find out any info they want from me. I am non judgemental, will tell you my experiences openly and will listen to any concerns. That was what the forum was designed to be in the first place.
Jeff that is great. There are several of us that are new here and wanting to here more stories as well. I have been on this site for a little over 2 months and have narrowed my search to two. I am hoping to meet them at christmas and again in the spring. There has not been much information from russian success stories lately so it would be great to hear more about your experiences as well.
Shaggy, you can write me anytime and I will write you the full story. If you log in, you will see email addresses below name. If they dont delete it, use my new one, jeff_mcdaniel@adelphia.net
jeff m.
you have a great name i may say. i have two trips under my belt and i am trying to plan my third. you are right , there is not much core experience here . a lot of philosophy and a political column to add. i try to share my actual experiences, but usually it gets dismanteled by someone or anyone who hasnt made any trips. but we are still plugging away. it is all in good fun. i know who the real support team is here for my own sake.
jmoluv (be well and laugh often) did i hear that before ?????
This thread deserves to be sent to the top of the queue again because once again this forum has completely ignored it's main purpose, that being discussing the merits/demerits of finding a lady from the FSU.
Why are there so many unrelated posts here????
Politics affects us all but do we really have to devote so much space to it here. There are plenty of places that specialise in that.....without too many debates about FSU women I suspect too!!!
It really runs the risk of losing a lot of credibility as it stands now!
Glad I understand your feelings and yes I have fallen guilty to be one of the off topic folks lately but to be honest there is very little information here that anyone has not heard and our talks were originally about the Ukraine. I think the biggest problem of late is the number of repeats and the number of frauds that we keep finding has everyone a little uptight about the money we pay for this service. Many people are starting to learn the agencies games and we are wondering why they are allowed. But you cant sit and bitch about the agency all the time. I must say that though I know of you glad I do not know much about your experiences why don't you share some of them with us newwer folks. We would really rather talk about fiances too. Especialy the successful ones.
This Forum is not a SAFE environment in which to post. So… surprise, surprise... people don't post.
Those that are left and those that have never been to the FSU become just a group of talking heads, which turns off others and the forum dies a death.
And when you WANT to find information, you have to wade through acres of irrelevant prattle and continuous dogfights.
The moderators need to decide whether this is a Forum or a chat room. Establish a clear code of behaviour and then police it properly. Until they do, this Forum will never improve. I can’t understand why nobody is learning lessons?… including me for wasting my breath right now.
Forget it, guys. Last one in needs to turn out the lights…
Oh thats funny...
Well when you decide your no better than anyone else maybe you can share again. You are doing nothing but stirring trouble If you don't like the threads there are many to choose from. No ones perfect...well in reality anyway. There is no need to start things up again you have seen everyone is done for now so let be so.
I agree there needs to be change and it would take very little effort to make this a better sight. Many other forums have topic menues and chat rooms. It has been brought up many times but there has been very little results. The new ones with no experience are the ones that tried to bring some of these changes and were told we did not know what we were talking about and to grow up and thicken our skins. Well it seems they are not happy with their own advise. The problem is the people that take these differences in opinion as personal attacks and I know I am not without sin but people can argue and not hate each other. Our sharing of views are important and most of our recent political rounds have been based on current events in the Ukraine and Russia but yes have lead to other topics as polarity became quite the issue. Everyone here is an adult and should try to behave like them. Pouty this and tyrant that is the problem as well as the silent treatment and such. Everyone speak there mind and hopefully everyone can selectively listen to that they find interesting. Hopefully the site will see this and try to make some changes for the better.
Shaggy:
I am not personally bashing you......or anyone else in particular, but I am happy that you can see the mis-direction here.I can not say for certain but I do suspect there are a great many members here who like me have chosen to watch for a while in the hope of an interesting topic arising so that we might comment.
Now......you may reply that I could contribute more and that may be partially correct. In defence of that though,it is extremely difficult to get motivated by somewhat irrellevant topics.
Many experiences I have had travelling throught the FSU have been shared here, although trying to find them is like wading through treacle!!!
I am more than happy to repeat them if anyone asks.......here or privately....your choice.
If you read my posts you will know that I welcome differences of opinion....after all that is what a forum is about.....and this one still has tremendous potential if the moderators can police it a little more.
I have been a memeber here for a little over 18 months and I remember clearly my first tentative question.....which by the way was answered very promptly with wit clarity and friendliness.
I have seen many members come and go,but there has always been a cadre of intelligent and sincere people who have ridden the tide, but at the risk of repeating myself, those people post fewer and fewer comments. That is the biggest loss.
New members are always welcome and always will be......(with the exception of the trolls and people with multiple personalities!!!),lets just try to keep things focused.
It's not too much to ask and the end result is for everyones benefit.
QC:
well said....hence the reason for my post!
Thunder:
turn the lights back on please!!..........:))
No I understand Glad I was being serious that I would like to hear more about your adventures. I am truly interested in finding out more as I have yet to make my trip. I am still hopeful for the first week of January...I know snow but I feel I can't wait until my next available date in April or May.
QC I appologize as I was very sharp in my responce but come on lets all buck up and just share what we have and stop the leverage. I truly understand your feeling and it is part of what has me so fired up here. I think you have read in the past my same feelings and the reason I have fought some of these battles was to keep from being hushed and told I was to touchy feely and too new to know what was going on. I openly defended those that where being attacked as well as myself. Many of those issues have been dealt with and others have continued to form and shape into at least workable realtionships. I understand that there will always be personal issues and some feelings of frustration but it is up to us as individuals to know where to draw the line and as you say keep it safe for all.
Shaggy:
the old saying "strike while the iron is hot" is sooooo true when considering your first trip,YES travelling almost anywhere in the FSU in January will be a pretty cold one but the sights and sounds that will greet you are not to be missed.......never mind the hospitality!!!
The sense of adventure before the first trip can never be overstated, you are travelling to a country that has only previously been accessible through books or Hollywood!!.Go with an open mind, enjoy the seasonal spirit..(both kinds!!!) and put a huge smile on your lady's face when you can be next to her and wish her Merry Christmas and a happy New Year in person.Possibly the strangest thing you will see is that most countries in the FSU consider New Year a bigger celebration than Christmas.
My travels have taken me to Ukraine and Belarus during the Christmas/New year period, and while the weather is not the warmest,it is a hell of an experience.
Just remember if you get caught short.....don't shake it.......break the icicles off instead.....and be bloody quick about it!!!.........:)))))
Going in January, eh? Me too... around the 11th. Back to St.P and Moscow and maybe a side trip to the Black Sea.. have three ladies and a bearskin lined up and dreading the cold. When you come from a warmer country and have little insulation on your bones (where's a MacDonalds when you need one?) you know you're going to freeze!!!
I am hoping for the 29th of December. I am still torn Riga or Moldova. I my gut tells me Moldova but I am still working out the details. I think I will be coming back the 12th of January. I am lucky as I am part bear to begin with...lol. I hope they do not mind my camo clothing as I intend to stay warm one way or the other...lol.
Yes I was spinning in circles it felt like smacking the dogs and I think I smacked at a few of the wrong ones... we live and learn and hopefully grow.
I spent 3 weeks in Riga. Liked the city centre. IMHO Women cannot compare to those I met in Russia. I did meet one nice lady but she wanted to live in a city. Since I don't, that was the end of that.
Thinking the same as you.. but with motorcycle clothing!!
you can say that again. If I'd go to Moscow in December I'd be looking at a temp-dif of at least 45C but likely more, and of course I've got zero clothing for it. Hardly any bears here to shoot & skin, so Spring is a better option, however for more than this reason.
Oh, Maccas won't put any grease on yer bones if their blurb is to be taken seriously. Unless you stuff yourself with shakes mind, but let's be honest here - you're not that sweet ;)
Gladder,
couldn't agree more with your comments above, and QC's also.
Hardly any 'subjects' pass through here anymore worthwhile to leaf through, and wading indeed is not one of my hobbies.
Having said that, keep in mind that you also are one who 'has been through it' hence far removed from what some call a newbie. That means that 'canned' is smelled from outside your mailbox, and a request for money you also can predict coming from a distance. Spotting genuine interest in you radiates off a mail too, but I suppose this all has to be learnt simply by some exposure.
What also, for most I guess, is maybe necessary is some sort of disappointment, fill-in here your own, because from this a better control of one's emotions, which inevitably play a major role, is to be had.
Having been there (refer above, not FSU per se) maybe makes some less active forum-wise simply because of recognition, a result of experience or familiarity, and this would then result in an interest for specifically 'new' things.
And THESE crop up less and less frequent, unfortunately.
And that, Shagga, you probably will understand but will really realize in a year or so, and trust me I hope I'm wrong time-wise. The strangest things go wrong somewhere along the line sometimes, from things stupid to absolute beyond anybodies control.
Been there, done that, but I'm still looking for the right T-shirt. Fitted some but did not like things ranging from the label to the price, with brand, style and quality inbetween.
Are the lights back On now?
