Every Russian woman I have met so far is extremely brand conscious - they are VERy aware of which cars are most expensive, and who all of the well known clothing designers are. Remember the GNP of these countries is quite low - but there are rich people in every one and a greater percentage of luxury cars than you will ever find on US or most western European roadways. The ladies i met in Kyiv were very up on the years and models of cars, especially mercedes . When they asked me what years my two m.b. were, to my astonishment they said i should have newer ones. It is a great bike, but I still can't get used to the solid rims, I should have bought a springer softail. I want a touring bike, I rode the Fatboy three times to Sturgis and it wears my ass out on a long ride like that. Great for cruising town, but I like to travel and it is not the most comfortable ride for that. I also like the Indian Chief but I'm not ready to invest 28 grand in a bike yet. I have two 83 Yamaha Venture Royales in my garage that I am restoring, but finding the plastics for them have become somewhat of a bitch. That was my first touring bike and I still love it, but it is a heavy piece of Iron, but it was ahead of its time in 1983.
