Don't want to put anyone off, but apparently a dopey Aussie got himself smacked over the back of his head and is no longer on this mortal Earth, except 6 feet under (no pun intended) after meeting his future Russian bride. Mafia apparently were invloved in the scam. Newspapers over here don't usually exagerate info but it made me think, for about a minute, as to whether I am doing the right thing by continuing my search for a wife in Russia/Ukraine/etc. Yes. And all that zinc in the stuff supposedly does wonders for your love life. As per the poor Aussie, there's nothing certain in life, it's all a calculated risk. May I also mention Polish girls? Same class, smarts, and good heart, plus no Mafia. I have an employee who, I'm told, thinks I'm wonderful, and looks like a taller, more voluptuous Courtney Cox. A truly sweet lady, and absolutely brilliant.Sadly, she IS an employee,and only 21 at that, which is at least 5 or 6 years too young for a superannuated old fart like me. Seriously, I think our deceased Aussie friend wasn't useing the common sense checks Olga mentioned, and I think she's also right when she talks about an innate difference between East European women and many, perhaps most, of their compatriots in the U.S. A teacher of mine once pointed out that the American lifestyle was built on the two income family, so if Dad is the breadwinner, Mom is the bringer home of new microwave rotisseries and all the other glow-in-the-dark toys without which western civilisation would wither on the vine. Perhaps the contest for status,comfort, whatever it all is, has cost American women much of their femininity(again, excepting many Southerners). Sorry if I'm waxing a tad morose tonight, and Monolith, I'm sure she's there, so keep looking. And ask if she has a sister.
