In the case of DJK's question, my response is that St. Petersburg would be the best for someone new who did not want to get in over their head. I stand by that. Are smaller town a better place to meet women? Again, depends on what you are looking for. I've gotten the same "city girl" indifference from some small town girls, so I don't think the attitude can be isolated to larger cities. In any case, DJK, don't go with large expectations, and you will likely find you will have a better time than you expected. Nor, in response to number 1: Why don't women fart? They don't shut up long enough to build up pressure! I'll add some to your elaborate list. I have been ringing doorbells at random, and then ask for a cup of sugar. This normally is a good icebreaker, however not really succesful for some odd reason. Oh sure, I ended up with more sugar than the local mill, but I hunch they think it's easiest to send the ogling panting nerd with fogged-up glasses away with a cupfull. I also used to lurk at the pornmag-stand, casually leafing through all the smutty pics, of course drooling to add to my pose, and meantime peering though my sunglasses at all the women. In hindsight I regret I never really looked at the pics because this also was not very succesful. Oh, and urgently knocking on doors, pretending to need a toilet urgently, also did not reap those benefits I was after. Maybe I should not have had my zip open, who knows. I also had a stack of business cards with varying texts on them, ranging from Bill Gates to Silvester Stallone. No, no luck either with them, dunno why because I always had the correct wig on. Oh, and Ferrari carkeys casually slung onto the barcounter also does not work. Sure, everybody looks, but no succes I guarantee you, especially not in those bars where there is no separate wardrobe to hang one's motorbike-helmet so you have to carry it with you. Last year someone posted that he goes to this language colleges and leaves postings on bulletin boards trying to find someone to help him tour the city. Nothing more. Even if you do not romantically connect with the woman helping you, she can easily introduce you to other older women she knows or point you in the right direction of where to find one or a lot of them. For her is a great oportunity to practice the languages she's studying while making a few bucks on the side helping a foreigner. I have not done this in FSU, but over 20 years ago worked like a charm in Amsterdam, Hamburg, Coppenhagen and Aarus. toad DJK Do not underestimate the value of a woman in her 20s...I did for a long time when I found Lena at age 25 (8/03) just because of the age difference. In the end, the best women I also found in FSU could not even compare to her and how well matched we are. Throughout the whole process she had more faith in it than I did until the lightbulb finally swtiched on inside my toadish brain. I would never consider a serious relationship with a woman of any age who is still in school, does not have life experience that reflects a bare minimum of compatibility with mine or doesn't have a clear concise mental picture of how she wants and sees her immediate and long term future.
