I had an interesting conversation with a woman from Lithaunia yesterday. It was in reagrd to why men from America go to FSU to look for women. Her question not mine :)) The end of this was that I told her it takes a certain kind of man to go. A special guy. Somebody very determined and who knows whos way around if you know what I mean. Let me explain JMO how many times you been now 4 or 5? Jet how many times dude? Toad from Argentina originally, travelled the world. Me from England been all over the place with a backpack and in wartorn countries. TD from Greece right? WFERG Germany right? QC, English living in Portugal, went across Europe in a van, trained around FSU. Now in Thailand. Spirit did you ever go to Khasakstan? I can go on and on. These men here have been around the block. They will go anywhere any time ALONE. They don't let language or anything else get in the way. You make a decision and do it. As for meeting up with someone sure it happens. Toad and I met up in Frankfurt and went to Ekaterinburg together. However it is not the norm. What are the odds that two of us are going to the same place at the same time? Slim. If you don't feel sure of yourself do one of two things. First go with a nice safe tour. Two read this forum, get to know everyone and ask advice. Try to organize a trip yourself. Write to a few ladies until you narrow it down then go with a backup plan. Learn about the money, transportation, don't stay at her place even if she begs you. And on and on and on.............................................. If I can help just ask. I have however been in most of the free counties in the world, alot of time in Asia. Joey...Izi has some good info, don't be afraid to just go. If you are corresponding with a lady, chances are she will look out for your interests. Just remember don't go with an attitude. I don't care how deplorable you think the living conditions are in a country, they are generally proud of who they are. If you go with the attitude that America is better you will most likly have a problem. Its the old saw "I can rag on my family as much as I want, but if you do, we will have to have a long chat". Just go meet some new people, join there culture for awhile and have a good time. Unfortunatly with these relationships you have a limited amount of time to "pull the trigger" so to speak. I stayed with the first lady I went to see and on the second visit we determined that we could be good friends but if we tried to live under the same roof we would be trying to throw each other out a window before the month was out. I would have been dissapointed if I would have gone through the process and brought her to America and found out then. Just remember everyone here has there own ideas as to what works best, your challenge is to pick out what is best for you and go with it. When I stayed in the girl's apartment of course I got to learn all things about her very quickly. The difficulty, I think, is when it quickly becomes a sexual relationship. Of course this tends to cloud a man's rational thinking. When I stayed in a hotel the relationship was very slow to develop and there seemed to be a stand offish or distant feeling. I can say we became friends, but nothing more. Perhaps this is better when judging a woman and her compatibility with you. I have my reasons for saying what I have, I think t is great to stay with the woman but not the first few days or even the first visit and there will and should be multiple visits to the same woman if you get along. It is only natural. The original plan was to go and stay in apartment in Eburg then if we got along I would move in with Marina. That was the original plan :)) Sure I got to find out about her alright. I was trapped. Snow ice, no language, no idea where I was. Bad idea. Always stay independant. Somehow, anyway you can think of it just don't shoot down your options. Sometimes they like to have you under their control, it is competitive. I had no idea that was going to happen. I completely trusted her, it was completely from left field. Another thing, when I go again I absolutely insist that she takes time from work to accompany me. If necessary I will pay any lost wages. I don't care what it takes, time is limited and I want her help and full attention for however long I am there. It is expensive and I want the experiment to work. For that she HAS to be with me. My latest lady completely agrees with me. I have solved this problem. Nothing new here just the old nuetral thingy. I am going to Chelaybinsk. I want to spend some time with her and her child and I want to formally meet her parents a la Toad. Then I want her parents to look after the boy and we go alone on vacation to Moscow or St Petersburg. We will have privacy, a certain nuetrality and I think it will let the inhibitions down a little. Frankly the sexual angle is kind of a must for me. It isn't the fact that I am going to a lot of trouble, no. It is because a woman knows I think within at most an hour of meeting you if she wants you or not. I am not going to find a buddy. I am looking for a woman who wants me and who I want in return. Sex is an absolutely essential part of that relationship building process. If it isn't happening then I shall move on. I really don't need a tour guide. The nuetral zone offers many advantages and that is what Toad did with Lena. I will still get to see how she keeps hous etc and experience some home cooking Russian style. As I have said before I keep learning and discovering solutions and answers to potenetial problems hopefully before they arise. I really want to stay in control of this better than last time which altough fun was a disaster. I made too many amatuer mistakes. jetmba. Next Moldova for three weeks. Then Latvia for two weeks (which is the one we cannot discuss with my lady). and then to Moldova again for two more weeks.
