Do send flowers and get a photo. It may be a bit expensive for some but you get to see your girl in her everyday clothes, with her everyday hairdoo, etc. You get a very true picture of you date and much more true than studio shots or posed candid. Based on your description of her letters, you may have found a winner but do be careful and have a backup plan. Be aware, these FSU ladies know less that 5% of men ever come to FSU to visit so they will write very personal letters to partly entice you to truely visit. The true ladies want to meet you in person and you must go to truely experience the people, country and environment. Expect to spend about $3K for a week, the airflight will be about $1000 to $1500; hotel, visa, rail, food and transfers will be another $1500. Go and enjoy, it is a life-changing experience. I don't have the time to write back to the women who have responded and because of my lack of geography I would need a frequent flyer plan and two months to visit them all. It's not all my fault! It took them a while to respond so I kept emailing more women. How do you separate the serious from the girls that are in love with being in love. I wish I lived in Europe! What complicates this is I am feeling a little quilty contacting these other girls because of the girl that started this and I know she would friggin kill me if she knew I was talking to these other women, however I also know I would be upset with myself if I went all that way and I needed a back up plan and I didn't set it up. She is also probably smart enough to know she is not the only one your are corresponding with. Best thing, be honest and straight forward with your intentions. I personally am not big on the "Back up Plan" I figure if it doesn't work out when we meet, I can find an alternative plan when I am there. I was more focused on the person I was going to meet. Good, bad, or indifferent it worked for me, it may not for other guys. I personally think that if you are not focused at the task at hand you lose sight of what you are trying to accomplish. As the old saying goes though, different strokes for different folks. It was just my approach, it may not work for you. Now tie them tight and take a few laps and work on that wrist shot!! I do appreciate your willingness to help though. New development: She wants to see me earlier than Dec and as a result said she would be willing to meet me wherever. I replied she was more than welcome to come to Canada and stay with me if she wanted and she was much relieved because she thought that maybe I was just wanting a rendevous. Needless to say this means I would like some more advice. She says she is going to visit a travel agent to make arrangements. Although it hasn't been asked for I would like to help her financially with the trip, but I also don't want to be scammed. I have a family friend that is a lawyer that deals almost exclusively with Russia and is often in Russia. I haven't spoken to this person about my new adventure. I also don't want the girl coming to visit me to think that it is a business contract. Any help would be appreciated. I while back I tried to help a Russian girl get a tourist visa to visit me in the US. I had met her over there, she had two good jobs, her own apartment, a child she would have to go back to, and she got turned down. Worse yet when she was at the embassy in Moscow for the interview for the visa they put a stamp in her passport letting everyone know she was turned down and will not be eligible for a tourist visa to US. She would have been far better to wait for a fiance visa....just our expierience. Consequently or relationship ended as she told me she hated America and would never come here or live here. VicMan: I recommend go to Saratov for about 2 weeks and meet her.... don´t think about too many "back up plans" if it is meant to be it will work out, if not you will meet some other girl in Saratov!!! Anyway you have less responsibility if you´re going to visit her, just if it should not work! Lately I was in West Africa for business. The last day, driving thru the city I joked to my b-partner: "what do you think would happen if I would yell: which women wants to come with me to Europe"? Needles to say that is the last I ever heard from her. It has been close to ten days. I have emailed to say hello, ask if I could help, etc and have never received another message. Your situation is even worse than all our US friends for Canadian Immigration Law does not allow fiancé visa. The only way would be to marry in Ukraine and sponsor her as your wife. She says she has talked to a travel agent and she says she has spoken to a travel agent and the travel agent thinks he can get her a visa. She says she doesn't care how much it will cost she is willing to pay whatever. Is she waiting for me to send her a ticket aand laughing all the way to the bank or is it real. I don't mind paying for the ticket but think it might be wise to wait to give her the money in person. I also don't want to appear cheap.
