I think im right in saying, "hard night" "hard weekend," in English speak, is nearly always too much aclohol.
I knew that wasnt what she meant but she didnt elaborate, so I thought Id see if she likes to play.
Some women are quite fun to write to, even after all the translation.
Pticka, it is my weekend only I have only Sunday :):)
WT, very good post!
Lets make a test : everybody in this board will write introduction letter for foreign dating agency in spanish, french or german or russian. And lets see are we so chritical after that!
Annika77, my intuition was always a very good one:))))
But personally I try not to do anything on the weekend about the house:) I try to do that in the evenings during the work week...yes it is hard, but after all all weekend is at my disposal:))
Plus I'm an "owl" I always go to sleep very late...so sometimes I start cleaning at 23 or even at midnight:))))
OK Adman lets try to imagine you want to find german girl. There are german dating sites what accept only profiles in german. So you studied german at school and you want now write short introduction what kind of wife you want or what kind of family you want...it is what I ment.
In Soviet Union where I got my education we usually studied 3 languages : native (in republics), russian and english or german or french. If woman or girl studied only german or french at school she isnt able to write her profile in english
My kid now have 4 languages at school : hes native, english, russian and german. But Im afraid he speaks properly only native and english.
Annika, you're missing the point. First, as someone else pointed out, it's a matter of CONTENT, not presentation. You're right that most of us couldn't write a good profile in Spanish or German, but even then you might as well give useful information with a lot of mistakes instead of a bunch of platitudes with a lot of mistakes. Second, the fact is that today English is the universal language -- not spanish, German, Russian, French... It’s a fact, live with it. By the way, English isn't my mother tongue either, as it isn't for many people writing on this board. Third, I find these meaningless profiles equally among women who list themselves as fluent English speakers. Some go as far as to say that “common interests” are important, but they don’t list a single interest of their own.
By the way – this is a separate topic – but I really don’t understand (and I don’t mean this sarcastically but just as a literal statement) why the level of English is generally so low in Russia if you get it at school. Where I am from (Belgium), we get English for 4 years about 3 hours a week, and by the time kids graduate from high school, most are more or less fluent. So what is it, are they just shy, or they really don’t speak it. I just don’t get it that someone would get an easy language as English for several years at school, and then they need a dictionary to read a letter.
curmudgeon, when I studied at school during 1 year about 4 teachers of English changed each other, they couldn't stay at school because of the low interest of the majority of pupils, and also because of the low salary. The best of English teachers left usual schools, and went to work in private schools, because the salaries were much higher in private schools, which just appeared in my city. Those who stayed at school, I mean teachers...well their own level of English was very very low, and they didn't know how to teach it correctly to children. I was lucky, my first teacher of English made all of us to love English language, but the majority didn't care to teach children to love it, and just gave lots and lots of information, and children were left alone to understand all that...
So low salaries made best teachers go to private schools, and in usual schools teachers with wrong ideas of teaching + with low level of English were left...as a result those who studied English at usual schools...either don't know it at all, or have a very very poor level of it.

Curmudgeon, goedenavond!...in all countries in Europe people over 40 dont speak so good english. I have been in Belgium and Holland (my boyfriend lives in South Limbourg)) so I know very well who speak english and who dont and what mistakes they make, most dutch have awful accent too!.
Why russians dont speak english? Because its language of empire -its english of East Europe. And they were told that russian is language of all working class in the world! Other aspect is in russian TV films are translated and they dont listen "live" english, its like in German TV. And teachers problems as Ptichka said. Its huge country and people manage very well without english.
What about importance of english language...lets not forget our little cultures in Europe (Im estonian), what do you think?
Meaningless profiles...who cares if you wear mini-skirt and show breasts:)
In the other hand isnt it too ambitious look for intelligent girl in the agency? Intelligent russian girls are in ICQ and such places. What do you think Ptichka? I got impression intelligent young students, like you, who speak english dont use "mail order brides" agencies and find other ways to meet people. Can I get your opinion here?
Annika77, I have no idea about that...I only know that not all my friends, clever girls, were able to find a good man here. I have several friends who got married with foreigners...though I'm not sure that any of them used Internet for that. In the majority of cases, they just met in the street...
I’ve been in Estonia a couple of times, by the way. Now THAT’s a difficult language – makes learning English seem like a picnic. I know because I started a course in Finnish once (very similar to Estonian) but quickly decided to give it a pass.
I have a question regarding Annika's comment on intelligence of women on this site, but I'll open a new link for that.

-If people intend to live in countries where those languages are spoken, I think that is a very good idea.
And, by the way, I have seen a Russian (?) lady who wanted to meet a German man write her profile in German.
However, there are two (other) aspects to consider:
1 Many men here are from English speaking countries. (and intend to stay there).
2 Men who are not, use English as a 'common language'.
But, perhaps people should use their native language: Norwegian, Swedish, Dutch, Spanish, etc.
Would that help the communication?
PS I still think that it is very difficult to write a profile without too many 'general expressions' (i e 'stating the obvious').
No, what I want to say is : if you read profile, except that its written by forigner. And dont start to moan about happy families and hard weekends. If we speak seriously when for me is writing profile hard even in my own language and yes we need "general expressions".
What about estonian and finnish they are hard languages, russian is hard too, but I like that language (we were forced to study that in Soviet Union though).
What about breasts and legs, I wrote that because I hoped somebody woke up:) and start to read the posts about language:) Sex sells everything isnt it!:)
Cant wait to read that intelligence topic!
Yes, we are all waiting for an intelligent topic.
In the mean time, perhaps you could tell us whether the European summer has nicely tanned your legs. Are they long and slender, shown off by that black miniskirt that clings in all the right places?
Or perhaps Ptichka could tell us what she likes to do on all those weekends she has free. Do you like to spend them by the lake, relaxing as the sun kisses your tender body. As you lie there, on a particularly warm day, do tinny beads of perspiration form between those firm young breasts, that Annika kindly mentioned?
It would be good to learn all about the life of an FSU woman. Im sure we can talk endlessly about it, while we wait.
Adman open the topic..."0ur sexual fantasies". I heard program on the radio that its real lack of women in New Zeeland. We have enough men in Europe so no need to dream....:)
This is good, we've gone from talking about the weather, to the sexual fantasies of an FSU woman. I didnt realize European women were so open minded.
You must tell me a little about yourself. Was any of my discription accurate?
