Kind of like puberty in adults. I also believe this emotional maturation dictates what kind of relations you will have with anybody--man woman or dog. It somewhat supports your viewpoint BUT as for them running off as soon as the ink is dry on the greencard you are wrong!! "I think Toads points are very valid but I think that the main reason that women wish to find a foreign husband is as old as time itself. They want OUT!! It is a simple and if done right a pain free escape from a life of poverty and zero future. Family is one thing but friends generally come and go. There is not chance in hell that I could find a slim, beautiful woman that (if I play my cards right) will love me and care about me who is 15 years my junior in America. She gets a better chance in life and maybe a leg-up for her family and I get all of the above. THEN if one gets REALLY lucky you might just bump into somebody that will love you purely for you and all the other stuff is incidental. In real life, most FSU/Western marriages are lucky to make it to there second anniversary. Its HARD to get to know someone REALLY based on letter, phone calls, and a few short meetings. And a 90 day fiance visa is a SHORT ammount of time to make a crucial decision. 2.) There ARE economic refugies all over the FSU who realize that they have little chance in this generation to "really LIVE not just exist" (as one girl put it to me just yesterday). This gorgeous girl works for $10 per day as a secretary in a Baltic country. She sees either stripping or getting married to a foreigner as her only way out. 3.) These girls DO have great social skills, and are able to pull heart strings remarkably well. We, as western men, are vulnerable to being manipulated very easily when a gorgeous girl pays us more attention than we have ever had before. 4.) there are big time cultural differences that are hard to imagine and harder still to overcome. But having said all of that - the FSU STILL offeres wonderful opportunity for western man - so LONG AS THEY STAY WARY. My bride will definitely be a girl from a former Soviet country.
