I was going to post this in its own thread, but I think this one will do.
I started correspondence with a young lady in Kiev about two weeks
ago. So far, I've received two letters from her.
I had a few suspicions about her right from the first letter.
At least every other sentence ended in an exclamation point.
On a scale of 1 to 10, everything in her life is an 11 - except
having a man, of course.
[Oh, how I dream of giving her that last last 11] ;-)
In my reply to her, I asked her some very pointed questions
(which I eventually ask every lady). How does your family feel
about you looking for someone outside your own country?
How do you think you will deal with leaving behind everything you
know, perhaps forever?
She didn't answer any of my questions, and I'm sure
I got a canned response. That in and of itself isn't bad - I
expect canned responses for the first couple letters, but
I do expect a small measure of personalization.
Anyway, here are some excerpts from her last letter,
along with some color commentary:
> Would you like to know more about my personality?:) I am optimistic
> and positive. I am very very very very sensual and hopefully one day
> you could feel that.
I think I'm feeling it already :-)
> I also love turn over the pages of Cosmopolitan and Vogue
> magazines:)
Oh shit, the sex quizzes and high-prices fashionista stuff. . .
> I like to cook very much and I hope, that one day you will taste it!
> what is your favorite food? Do you have any wishes, that I can
> fulfill?:)
Yes, I hope one day to taste you - I'm sorry, you were saying?
The other two are left as an exercise for the reader :-)
> I'm using personal translator of English and I hope, that we
> would have no language barrier! I understand the importance of knowing
> English, so when we have really serious plans for our future
> together, I will think about studying English!
I can name that tune in 1 note: "Scam in $-minor"
I'm still trying to make arrangements to go to Kishinev, but plans are in
place for a trip to St. Petersburg in mid-march. Woo-hoo!
