"...What happened to the American man? Being resourceful and doing for his family what needs to be done? Giving up on his selfish wants to promote the needs of the family first? Well it can be done and if you really want to do your children in the future a favor, you will not want them to be latch key kids. ...."
And what happened to American society? (and most western societies)?
In a lot of cases a man with a non-working wife will have to work very long hours or take a job away from home. (The oil-rig jobs spring to mind.)
In many cases a family with only one breadwinner hardly ever see him.
And then the wife complains that he is not there to support her (in any other ways than giving her money).
Result: Divorce.
If people learn to use the keyboard for other than writing post's in a forum, they can find it a tool for producing income without leaving the comforts of their home. I know quite a few men here that have non-working wives and they are not working on some oil derrick. It's time for you to put down the Frost, Hegel, and keyboard and get into the 21st century.

I'm a slow learner!
Otherwise I wouldn't be here now!
I would be either sitting in a highly paid job, or I would be sitting - after very early ritirement - somewhere enjoying the fruits of my share portfolio...
Or something...
Just give me a time-machine so I can go back and do things differently.
-And i think a few of us here have a few things we would have done differently if we knew then what we know now!
