Personally after reading the bill, it just goes to show that some congressmen are just trying to act like they are really doing something.
So now do we need a bill to protect men from the bipolar, prozac laden, zoloft popping women looking for a foreign man? I think I will write my congressman this morning, this issue should be addressed. Gee, I wonder how much attention that will get?
I'm new to Fiance.com. I've been writing to many women, primarily in the Ukraine and Moldova. I do plan to vist each country in May. I also happen to live about 5 miles from where that insipid pig murdered his Russian bride. I do think the legislation was a knee-jerk reaction. Washington is such a "touchy feely" state. I just happened to wander across this forum quite by accident. I appreciate all the comments and posting. I am going to aggressively educate myself before I go overseas. I think I've been way to naive. But I have not sent a dime to a woman yet.
To Wmferg and others in the process. We finished our K1 interview on Feb 1 as of this date nothing has changed in the process at the Embassy level, and I am not sure that it will change. It is funny how each embassy has the autonomy to operate in their own accord. It was like arguing with Larissa in regards to her documents having an Apostille on each of them. It is not required at the embassy in Kiev. Maybe Moscow, but not in Kiev. After hearing all the horror stories about the interview process in Kiev, I found it to be rather simplistic and very easy and the the ladies are treated with respect. Or maybe it was because I was an american sitting very close to where they were interviewing the ladies and I do have a functional ability to speak and understand and read Russian, I could hear every question asked Larisa. To me the interview process was just a formality.
As for the time we were there, I was the only fiancee present at the interview. Many adoptions and etc were there also. I was able to help a lady with her DS156 that she hadn't completed both sides of. So as for the interview in Kiev, if you have all your things in order and are truthful, no problem. What pissed me off was I spent so much time gathering financial documents for Larissa's interview, that they just gave them back to her, didn't even make copies. I wasted a perfectly good saturday morning getting those items!!!LOL!
