As I have advised before. Before you make a trip to visit a woman you have only written to,,, have a video chat with her. Though you will not know what is in her mind, at least you will know that the face matches to some degree the person you are writing to. Otherwise there is a good chance that no one will be there when you arrive except excuses. It has happened to me as well as others giving advise here. However, to the topic, the interpreter is also present as a "Second" and chaperon for the lady on your first few meetings. This is all a process of steps until you become familiar with each other. If either of you have a basic understanding of the other's language, you can get by on your own in a very short time. The translator is a valuable asset in the first few meetings for a variety of reasons. If you are able to be respectful, converse and gracious to the interpreter, the lady you are going to visit will see you as a gentleman. The lady will be eager to see your personality and demeanor and nothing is more powerful than a first meeting. This will be the biggest step you make in placing yourself in direct contact with the lady of interest. For those that do not know, any woman that is knowledgeable to join a dating site will also have a mobile phone and an E-mail address. You just have not been vetted to receiving it. When the lady is truly interested in you, no one will stand between you.
Hello everyone. Its been a long time since I have logged on to this site and out of curiosity I decided to log in and check it out. It was a nice surprise to see my old post being currently discussed. First of all I want to say Lina and Rodan are adding some great information and advice to this post. I have been traveling to Ukraine since 2003. I love Ukraine and it is my adopted country so to speak. Trip number 16 was again to my favorite city in Ukraine, Kharkov. I was there last year September 2010. In Kharkov the local agencies were charging $15 to $20 per hour for their Interpreter service. Myself, I never use the agency Interpreter to date the same agencies girls as Lina has advised. Of course you may have to if, this is your first trip, but otherwise you should try to find a free lance Interpreter by referral or on a forum such as this. I lost my local Interpreters ( I always try to have two on my list) to retirement and moving. So, last September I set out to find some replacements. I found three. All three wanted $20 and hour. In today's economy I knew the rate was much too high and could be negotiated. I offered $10 per hour and I feel this is a fair rate these days. In Kiev I would be willing to pay more, but certainly not $20. Only business or medical interpretations are worthy of that rate. In the end, out of the three Interpreters I found, two agreed to the $10 per hour rate. Of the two, I liked working with one more than the other, but I made sure to give the other one some work because I like to have a back up Interpreter. You never know when your primary Interpreter will become ill or suddenly not be available. When I am in Ukraine my time is precious and I don't want to lose a day or even hours when during that time I may meet "The one" or understand that the girl scheduled to meet that day is "Not the one". To me, Interpreters are invaluable. Even when I don't need them, I take comfort in knowing they are there when I may need them. Like I said. I always try to keep two on my payroll.
Hey Deano... been a long time!!!
Would you believe.....I am planning on finally visiting your favorite city in the Fall!!!
Just gathering up info now...on which is best area to stay and entertainment/restaurants there...I am using another forum now for info because this one useless. I'll PM you.
You should take Danny with you, Beemer. I do apologize for getting on you about making fun of his gf that died. I resorted to the same thing. It doesn't affect him. The funny thing is how you two became enemies, but are very much alike.
Hey Beem! Good to hear from you and I will look for your pm. I would be glad to help you out and have a lot of advice and where to go and where to stay. Give me your private email on pm and we'll direct contact. I may be going to Kharkov in September myself. :)
