Did you also happen to write the blonde babe from Tsyurupinsk added a couple days ago? I see she just got yanked too:) Remember the rule of thumb: If you find them attractive, it's a scam!
Thanks buffed, I hope your wrong about if they are attractive its a scam.LOL I can get hot gold digging girls here.:))) I really do not e-mail too many girls, I find it too time consuming to be in contact with more then 5 or 6 girls at a time. How about you? How long have you been looking or searching?
arc... good girls are too hard to find in the FSU, move on like polockinpa23 has and check out Asia or south america, sure you will always be tempted by the extreme beauty of FSU girls, but remember the reasons why you are looking abroad for love. made extreme efforts to find love in the fSU and failed miserably. Just a small number of letters to other continents will bring back results that will make you feel like you have struck gold.
Viva.. what happened to you when you went to FSU? I am going to prague on vacation in sept. and was wondering if the women there are a little different? Also what site's did you look at for south american women. Thanks for the help
arc21,
Prague, like the Baltic States, even moreso, is in the European Union thus womens attitudes are not so dependant on a 'financially stable' western guy as are ladies in FSU.
And god help a guy who turns up there offering them baked beans on toast and asking 'are you obedient?' :))
Vivavegas isn't kidding about the scamming, it's epedemic in the FSU. The only thing is they're the hottest babes on the planet. Arc21pa, if you're writing BABES like the one you referenced in this thread you better be prepared to write five or six HUNDRED letters. Of that you will be lucky to get five or six LEGITMATE, HONEST, BABES who will actually meet with you during your visit.
Not to pick-on fiance.com Arc21pa, but here's what you can expect if you're writing BABES on this site. Almost all BABES will be listed by an agency. Very few of them will be real, and those the few legit ones had world class "Glam Shot" photos taken that could make a pig in a dress with lipstick look good. You will receive a lot of responses and many will just be overwhelmed to get letters from a stud like you. In fact, they will "wait impatiently" for your next letter, often "running to the agency to see if you'd written."
Everything will be fine until you do something completely thoughtless like saying you'll be coming to their city to visit, could you please send a contact number where you can be reached so you can arrange a meeting. Then one of two things will happen: the girl will suddenly realize "you are not her type" and wish you her succeess or she is part of the 0.00001% of Ukraine/Russian BABES who doesn't have a mobile phone and even more freakish, one of the 5% of homes without a landline. Strangely, this phenomena occurs with alarming regularity among the BABES who join agency affiliates....maybe it's something like cancer rates unique to certain geographic areas?
Now, when you reply to the "audio-communication-challenged" BABE back and timidly make any reference about wanting to ensure the sincerity of your communication you will receive a scorched-earth letter admonishing you for your paranoia. She will realize that you are "far too suspicious" and she realizes she can't see herself in a relationship with such a person.
In regard to the free-lancer ladies with email, you can expect to encounter exactly what you've already experienced.
By the way, a good portion of the scamming you experience in the Internet is not even done by the woman in the photos in many, if not most cases. I used to believe that they rarely participated, however, I've changed my thinking. I now believe that while most are not instigating and operating the scams, they may be on the payroll of the scammers. Perhaps to provide photos, pick-up WU money, and maybe to go on a fake date in rare instances where a guy actually nails down the scam agency to produce a body.
arc21pa, I received the same "I'll call you from a public phone" from Irina Tolstova. She asked me for money in her second letter. That aroused suspicion, but also her letters were reeeeally long and detailed and affectionate. FSU ladies tend to write much briefer letters, in my experience, perhaps because they generally correspond free of charge. Out of curiosity, I checked out the website womenrussia.com, where they have a "Blacklist" section, then over to "Latest updates to the Blacklist". The first scammer letter I read there contained almost verbatim a paragraph from Irina's letter! Busted! I alerted Fiance.com, and they removed Irina Tolstova in a flash. Too bad; she was absolutely gorgeous and spoke great English! And I think she loved me. :)
Thats funny Philly, it must of been the same letter. both of them were extreamly long and asked for money on the 2nd letter. Did she also tell you about her dad.LOL
Thanks Fella's
I'll have to remind the woman I wake up next to each morning who is extremely beautiful and Ukrainian, that she is a scammer!! I'm glad I had all the help from here to help me find my scammer. God you guys are the most paranoid bunch of men I have ever met. It's no wonder you have difficulty with women from the FSU if you turn each meeting or your letter blitzes to a thousand women into an interrogation. Also these girls are a lot smarter than you think. If they are extremely beautiful they also can see through the BS of guys just looking for something to show off without any real intrinsic love. They don't want to be window dressing and they all don't want your money. I think the problem here is everyone thinks that it should be like shooting fish in a barrel when it comes to women from the FSU and that just isn't the case. They may come from a country with less than the standard of living that most of us have, but the real good ones, won't compromise for the dollar what is really important to them. If money becomes the central focus of your relationship with a girl from the FSU time to move on to another. The decent girls don't ask for money, don't ask for gifts and don't ask for help. They ask for love and attention from their men. So good luck scammer hunting and all the gyrations it seems most go through here int his forum. This April I am marrying my scammer. Good luck Fellas
I lived in Russia for many years and I know for sure, that to install land line is not everywhere possible-first, second-there is a line of people to get those phones, because first they give it to vererans of war and so on, third-to instrall land line phone cost from $500. So, I understand that you're listening americans, but Russia and US it's totaly different planets.
You CAN make phone call from public phone, you just purchase a phone card. Same thing as here, but 1 min. call from Russia to US costs 30 rubls-which is $1.10.Because there is not many companies providing sattelite service.
I just don't want that every eastern man talked about russian women that all of them are liers. If you want to have beautiful woman, you got to pay for it, if not-enjoy your domestic feminists. Good luck!
Nasfan,
In fairness it seems what they may be doing is writing to the wrong type of lady or indeed perhaps responding to, so called, ladies that write to them first.
When I started out on this venture I can recall being like a kid in a candy store, sure I had my fun whilst only allowing myself to be scammed one, for I recall, USD50 and through my selection errors of judgement it took me a long time to find the special one.
Most of these guys will get there eventually, some won't, namely 3 Australians that spring to mind and 'The Baked Bean Kid', and perhaps in a few years from now they'll realise their errors of judgement and perhaps wish they'd done things differently.
Once I'd had a few years experience under my belt and I had reached a, another, time whereas I need to find a new lady I would write to multiple ladies as many others do. Most scammers are detectable in the first few letters, one either dumps and blacklists them or merely dumps them, at one time it seemed like I was reporting one lady weekly to Elena's Blacklist.
It no big deal, so you've found a scammer, whoopee doo, we've all found scammers, dump them, blacklist them, and move on. Our life on this planet is a very short one, don't waste it with criminals, occupy it with a good person, go find her and good luck.
I've only come across one woman without a phone, she was somewhere in outer-Siberia. Even at that, she was still able to go to a neighbor's and receive calls. I've gone over this ground before, but I'll say it again: I've never encountered a girl in Ukraine without a mobile phone (unless they had just lost it). Furthermore, just "having" a mobile phone is not good enough......no self-respecting Ukrainian babe would be caught dead without at LEAST a $250 model. In fact, I was ridiculed and looked down-upon for buying an inexpensive Siemens phone for around $60 I received a lecture for my thoughtless behavior in not being extravagant enough. Mobile phones are major status symbols for these women.
This whole "I don't have a phone" thing is pure BS. Let's focus on reality for a moment. If some woman is serious about meeting a guy she's going to want to talk to him. If she's the 1 in 1,000 who doesn't have a phone she's not going to write back "Gee, I don't have a phone..Sorry" A legitimately interested woman would say "I don't have a phone but I can make arrangements to speak with you at this number and at this time"
Nasfan,
You certainly won't get an argument from me about FSU countries being the way to go. As you've found, there are some wonderful women in those countries. Most of us wouldn't be here if we didn't share your optimistic outlook in his regard. With this being said, it is known fact there is a great deal of corruption in the FSU, Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries on earth. However, we have to remember that the same societal pitfalls that plague FSU countries are also what affords us this opportunity. It's simple logic that in a corrupt culture you are going to encounter a number of corrupt women.
You shouldn't confuse the contempt and disgust expressed on this forum regading the shenanigans of agencies and unscrupulous individuals involved with Internet introductions with attitudes toward FSU women as a whole. It's two entirely separate issues. I'm very straight-forward, cut-to-the-chase in my approach and I won't put up with the BS crap that these agencies pull. I have an established period of time when I will be in the FSU before I even contact a girl. I only write with the stated intention of setting-up an in-person meeting, not for the purpose of prolonged correspondence. I don't need to write 68 letters to set-up a lunch date with a girl in Nikolaev. One or two letters should be more than sufficient to get a Fcukg phone number.
arc21pa: Yeah, actually her letters are much more entertaining than the letters from genuine FSU women! Her dad was a pedestrian killed by a drunk driver. A whole paragraph devoted to the tragic episode! I mean, these letters are absolute tomes!
nasfan6: Congrats on finding your lady. It's what we all want here. I agree with much of your views on Ukrainian women. Like buffed and martin_uk, we're all fans of FSU women, and optimists I think, to be spending fairly large cumulative sums of money to find a wife here. I've got lots of nice things to say about your fiancee's countrywomen, but remember, this particular forum thread was about scammers...
Martin_UK: I've been on Anastasia for one year and never once been asked for money by an FSU woman. So, yeah, I was very naive and taken in by this first scammer, I mean she really had me going. It took forever to read her novellas and respond! I got scammed a few days ago on this site, but her profile lasted only two days before they kicked her off. This one I had figured out. So yeah, the first time was almost fun (no money lost), and now that the MO is established, it's been there, seen that. Too bad, though, 'cause they are The Perfect Woman! lol
Philly,
OK, perhaps it was like riding a bike for the first time and you fell off. Please, for your own sake, take note that scammers come in all ages and sizes, from the young and beautiful to the middle aged and overweight, and there are several common scams they will try on you. namely:
1. Money for correspondence, translation etc.
2. I love you and I travel to see you, please send me money for ticket & visa.
3. The student or work exchange programme bullshit.
4. The sick relation.
5. My family or work have paid for my travel to you, I just need some travelling money to show to immigration and I shall give it back to you when I arrive.
6. My friend has an apartment for you to stay in but you need to pay in advance, please send me the money.
7. Another crisis of one sort or another, please send me money.
And so it goes on, please, just because you have detected one scammer you need to remain vigilant to detect one of the other scenarios. The dead give away is when, after the first couple of letter, they continue to transmit 'canned' letters, read the letters and detect if the lady is writing to YOU or is this just another letter, stored on a PC, and transmitted with your name at the top.
A good way to detect such letters is to try to ask two questions in each of your letters, I would always start a letter by answering her questions, but if less than than 75% of your questions get answered, or are merely added into the middle of the text somewhere, then be on your guard. And likewise, she should be asking 'sensible' questions of you.
Martin_UK,
Thanks for the tips. I like the "two question" suggestion. I have noticed that genuine ladies generally do not volunteer information about their difficult financial circumstances without prompting.
Have you noticed this problem more on certain websites than others?
Philly,
The scammers tend to lurk on sites where there is little or no quality control, just go to www.womenrussia.com/blacklist.htm and 'latest updates'. For years I have been reading of guys who were contacted by ladies on Yahoo Personals, this has been going on for years and still the guys fall for it with seemingly no action by Yahoo to prevent it. It's mainly all the free sites but don't be fooled, you can go to the most expesive subscription site and you'll find a scammer or two.
Scammers have posted pics of Jennifer Lopez, Meg Ryan, Andrea Corr etc. and still guys write to these ladies and the truth is that no self respecting lady will ask for money from a guy who she hasn't met, doesn't know.
>" I've been on Anastasia for one year and never once been asked for money by an FSU woman"<
Philly, of course they haven't used the Visa / Plane Ticket, mother-got-hit-by-car scam on you. These are the free-lancer scams for the most part. You're being played by the agency method of scamming. If you've been involved in extended correspondence with a few women on anascamya you're already being scammed. Chances are you are not even in contact with the ladies in the profile, instead you're most likely writing an agency translator who's making up all the letters. The women in the profile probably have no idea who you are in reality.
And yes, if you're writing babes on fiance com chances are also good that the women have no idea who you are, especially if they are from Nikolaev or Moldova. Interestingly, the last two agency sponsored women I contacted from Nikolaev both happened to check their email around midnight Ukraine time and reply to letters I'd just sent.....amazing the determination of these ladies to get my letters and incredible work ethic of those affiliates to keep their doors open so long. Of course neither of them had a phone and both seemed to copy rambling scrawls of poetry or dramatic script for their letter content. The good thing about fiance com is at least they don't mass mail the phoney intro letters.
Philly, have you tried asking any of these ladies for their phone number? Also, press them on the issue of meeting in-person....tell them you're going to be there next week. It would be interesting for you to give us a report on the responses they give.
Martin_UK,
Yep, I agree about Yahoo.com, and avoid it.
buffed,
Still haven't much experience on fiance.com, so I've no opinion on this site. I have just recently received a nice response from a girl in Nikolaev, and am thinking of it. I understand that girls in the less cosmopolitan cities may be a bit more genuine in their desire to marry and better their lives.
Yes, anastasiaweb is a bit dishonest about the phony intro letters, but most contracts I sign in life screw the signatory in the fine print :) Again, I simply ignore the intro letters. As for requesting phone numbers, anastasiaweb censors any phone #s and email addresses. The only way you can obtain such info is to use their telephone call service, which is quite expensive. I think a minimuc 10 minute phone call would be about 25-35 USD, maybe even more.
Buffed,
Actually, I have traveled to Ukraine three times. One woman had to leave town just before two of my visits, and I stopped writing her after the 2nd no show. Another lady was a medical student, and could not find the free time to meet with me, though we conversed on the phone during my stay in Kharkov. On the other hand, I actually did meet seven other women from anastasiaweb, after corresponding with them through the website. Four of them were quite sincere. Three were just looking for someone to take them out on the town, i.e., users. Perhaps you're right and the first two were just churning emails, but most of the girls are real, in my experience. It's just difficult to distinguish the serious candidates from the users.
