Jonny, I have been thinking hard about this social, the pluses and minuses. It would be true that if a young beautiful single girl here on visa would have plenty of suiters, just maybe they are interested in dating or that s*x thing. These girls may be interested more in marriage. I don't see many people out there for that sole reason. This is a chance for these girls to be at an event where that is the main focus. I know it is limited to only 25 men. I wonder how many girls there will be. The age range is 23-35. I think maybe a part of cost is to bring girls in from neighboring areas, maybe even from a neighbor state??? I am not enamored with the thought of a social......with men running around in a meat market....., sorry jetmba. Skired, Your thought makes a lot of sense. I agree with you that you got fly there. I am not lazy, scared or cheap. I go over there 4 times a year. Time is my biggest problem. I'm in LA, this just up the freeway and will be for only a weekend,I can handle that. I am going back and forth on this. It is either a goldmine or trainwreck!!!

Go for it beemer! Go for it! I really want to hear what you see there! I'm 2,000 miles from San Francisco-- and I'm thinking about it! You hop a 50-minute LAX-SFO flight and you're there! :D You know, the $1,000 price-tag will keep out a LOT of men. It will eliminiate a whole socio-economic group. And, maybe the ladies know this-- and so it will attract more ladies. But, does the calculus work out like this: "These are men that are successful and stable. They are also serious. They are looking for marriage. " Or does it work out like: "hey, these guys can drop $1,000 on a night. They're loaded! I can finally buy the Prada shoes I want!!"

I think this: if it is a bomb, will you be really angry and upset at the $1,000? If so, then I think it is best not to go. You know what? We could do this forever-- try to guess what it will be like. But, there is only one way we can know.

Jonny, This is supposed to be the first of several this year. This summer in New York and Virginia. In the fall back in California. Virginia is supposed to be youngest girls, college age. New York a mix of young and in late 20's. California is supposed to have the older age group, 20's to early 30's. Which is your choice???? Oh, just beautiful!

Ok, have you read the Russian section, for ladies? Like the 3rd sentence in they specifically point out men are spending "thousands of dollars to attend our party." That is kind of distasteful-- to jump up and down pointing out the $1,000 thing.

And, then this below is not accurate, from the English section: "Again, we want to emphasize that you will NOT need any Russian to communicate at our socials. All the women have already passed a standardized English test before receiving their visa." You don't need to speak english before you are granted a visa. My friend Julia knew about 6 words. Julia would say "How are you?" I would say, "I am fine Julia? How are you?" And then she would say ".......I don't understand." :D And she was here legally on a non-K visa!
