i am leaning towards tringa's point of view that: in having a forum like this where people can converse and talk about their experience, even when not favourable to the company, is an indication of their integrity. i can't be 100% sure but then you never can in life. i don't think they have been entirely truthful in some of their responses but it would have to be an elaborate plot if they wrote all the emails. has anyone here ever met someone who they were introduced to through this site though?
european - your analogy is flawed in that the smoker has presumably not entered that house solely intent on smoking, whilst paying for the facility and being enticed into doing so. i'm not sure that anyone has been insulting here.
Europeen,
I don't understand why you polemize with me. I don't think I have been insulting here - nobody has, as AP notices. Of course I accuse someone without proof! I do not have the tools to find the proof. I say I suspect of two girls, but I never posted their ID's in the forum. So, I am not damaging anyone's reputation. The proof - or the disproof - should be found by admin, I think. I am complaining because the investigations of admin about these two girls seem not to achieve any conclusion, as far as I know. You act like a very illiberal moderator, much more illiberal than the real ones :-)
"has anyone here ever met someone who they were introduced to through this site though?"
The answer is yes, of course! I was back home a few hours ago from Ukraine. I met two girls I was introduced to through this site. A third one didn't show up, and I dropped a fourth one. I decided to give up meeting her because things were going great with a girl in the same city. We are planning to meet again. We'll see...
I apologiza KA, I was just talking in general, I have seen some guys here insulting others
I have nothing against and neither others ...
AP: the way you posted your first message was like accusing the company who is managing the website are not honest. You don't have any proof ...
Remember many girls here deals with theirlocal agency
Guy <-> Fiance.com <-> local agency <-> Lady
So it could be possible that may be it is all local agency's fault.
When I meant here, I meant on the forum and not on this particular topic
AP I do understand your point of, I had received two emails from the same woman on two different sites (including fience.com)
And I was already corresponding with her on faince.com before receiving the second email on the other site.
So for me, it is more possible that the agency write the first/introduction letters (or at least send the prewritten letters) to the guys
yes, it is possible that agency writes intorduction letters for her. and agency is prety stupid to send introduction letters to the same person from different sites. email to admin please. we will check that lady and agency.
Excuse me for pointing it out but if an agency signs a letter, as an example, 'Sincerely, Olga', at their own behest and without the precise knowledge of the lady that they are sending and signing that letter, then the agency is forging letters and is fraudulent.
Martin, I don't think that is a very big deal if the agency "helps" a woman to find her "soulmate"
Olga, please don't bother your self with this ... She didn't do any harm, mistakes can happen ... so I prefer to just to ignore the mistake
thanks anyway
I think that the agency should be very careful in what they are doing
till now, I should say that I am globally satisfied even though I didn't find my lady yet (actually, I think I did, but nothing official and I didn't see her yet)
I beleve 90% of the agencies send at least the first couple of letter out themselves
its hard to find a honest successful marriage agency,
so many scammers agencies a honest one can not succeed,
The following is really funny. On October 25th, 2006, the day I joined fiance.com, I wrote to an Ukrainian girl (ID #1, say). On October 31st I received an introduction letter from the same girl - I mean she wrote to me "first" - but she wrote from a different ID (ID #2) On November 1st I received a decline letter from ID #1. I reported this "accident" to admin and one of her profiles was deleted. I have just checked the stats of this girl, I mean the surviving profile. I would say she's really picky. In spite of her gorgeous look, she received only 45 letters in 4 months. One is mine :-)))
Europeen,
This FSU dating lark has become so ruthless, profiteering and indeed lawless some basic morals have been lost in history and they will remain lost in history whilst yourself and perhaps others continue to find such behaviour by these agencies acceptable.
Please do not forget that a lot of agencies, indeed websites, operate on a 'pay per letter' basis of perhaps USD5 or USD10 per letter, if you find it acceptable to spend up to USD10 per letter writing to perhaps a grandmother sitting at a computer somewhere then you will need all the luck you can get.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm just glad I'm no longer involved in this rat race.
Without a doubt, most of us would agree, that in the western world there are plenty of opportunity to make plenty of money if you're willing to roll up your sleeves and do some hard work. One doesn't need to resort to immoral and illegal activities to turn a buck.
Just the same, in the US as well as the FSU, this understanding is lost on a few.
Harantis,
I am in substantial agreement over your point. However, as another guy of this forum pointed out in a post in my thread "Children 0?":
"You got to remember that standards of integrity are dictated largely by cultural surroundings."
and:
"This is a really tough area, because there is just so many differences in western and eastern views as to what constitutes honesty or dishonesty."
I have collaborations with colleagues in Kiev. A few of them are good friends of mine. Our common activities are completely moral and legal in themselves. Nonetheless I must say that, yes, the standards of integrity that my Ukrainian colleagues apply to work are quite different from those we are used to in our western countries.
