i believe GL agecy is a scam. I also receive 2 letters each week from Ukrainian and Russian ladies that are interested. They will exchange many letters then suddenly they will just disappear and that cost money to open and reply which is not cheap. Also there is no way you can give your email or telephone no. as the agency is deleting them or filtering the email and phone no. so you end up paying and paying until the time you will meet the ladies, they don't talk to you anymore. So far the best dating website is Elena's Model which will give you the ladies telephone or email if available and you can see that from the ladies profile. I just switched to this website.
Bikerboy has the figures about right. Over the past 4 years I'm spent well over that, not counting trips, telephone charges, SMS messages etc. It's the nature of the game - if you want to play, you have to pay.
And for those that cannot afford it - stay at home.
Martin and beemer, you are both correct, my experience has been with Globaladies.com (with one "L") who are an affiliate website of EuropeanConnections.com based in Alpharetta, Georgia in the U.S. I have been corressponding with a lady for about a month, got her phone number and address, after several attempts to call her I recently got in touch and heard her voice. She spoke little english so it was more of a call to verify the number was real and that someone actually answered, question is whether who answered is the lady I presume from correspondance and if the correspondance is genuine. The communication "seems" legitimate but scammers are also clever. After getting the lady's address I contacted a local independant flower delivery company (not affiliated with Globaladies) to deliver some flowers and such. I spoke with the person running the shop to let them know I wished to surprise her and what I wanted to do also was verify her existence and wether she actuall knew we were corresponding or not. I will let you know how the delivery goes and the verification process!
Just remember web sites make a lot of money in conjunction with so called marriage agencies. Like any business over time, all revenue sources are maximized for optimal performance. This includes letters, chat, video chat, flowers and more. I must admit, these businesses are very good at what they do. As with any place to shop, you have a choice. You can shop anywhere in the world you choose. Just remember, you are buying a product, not a woman. One of the main differences is the fact that there are no guarantees.
The other day I "registered" at GL to view a video. By registered I mean I gave the most minimal information I could. i.e. My first name and my alternative email address--nothing else. No age, occupation, picture, requirements, etc--NOTHING!
Today I received an email from a young lady based on my "extensive profile". At least you can look at her profile first but she isn't what I'm looking for and there was a thing or two in her profile that fell outside my requirements.
That all being said, for half a second I was a little flattered until I realized this must've been generated by the agency to induce me into paying $6 to open her letter (and presumably reply for another $6 naturally!)
It would've been tough to pass up IF I had posted a profile so I can see how fast this could get out of hand money-wise and the disappointment of discovering she either never existed or doesn't know you exist.
UPDATE: FYI its the global ladies w/ 1 "L".
Also, I received two more letters today.
I'm curious to read the letters but not $18 curious.
I'm not so certain Global Ladies is a scam. I tried it out and I did get sufficient replies that were accurate and communicative that I really doubt that it is a scam.
But what I do have no doubt about is that its not very good value for money.
www.globaladies.com is now called www.rwglobe.com. Yes I agree it is true they send you email from a lady who didn't send you the letter the agency did. I just got one from a girl who didn't write me the letter. I paid 23 dollers to their website to open the letter and to write her back like after a day of when i got her letter . When I wrote her back in reply it took 2 weeks to hear from her when i did she wrote me telling me she wasn't interested in me that she wants to write this man she has been writing to for the last month. Why would she write me a letter if she is involved she wouldn't they website agency did
I agree - Globaladies is a total rip-off. As has been pointed out more than once, paying by "credits" or anything similar is like flushing money down the toilet.
haha you have to be crazy to believe what bikerboy says but if he winds up at least one person with what he said then his job is done and i am sure he has there is lots of gullible people out there especial in this sort of cases
joined rwglobe and recieved a few letters one i wrote back to after afew weeks of letters we met and spent 2 weeks together and are still writing and talking on the pone and planning on being together again so on that part there are still real women out there
we did however by pass everything the agency offered and at times they were pushy about somethings but we didnt use there apartment service or transportation or even interpretors apartment i rented on my own ,as for interpretor she had a friend who helped when we needed it and as for transportation its not that hard to do on your own ,we did however happen to come across one of the interpretors from the agency one evening at dinner and it was obvious that they were not happy we had not used people from the agency The agency also called my apartment the day before i was to leave asking to arrange transportantion to the airport , i informed them had all ready made arrangements (her brother) they hung up on me
poet,
RWGLOBE a.k.a. 'Global Ladies' spam guys with ladies first letters, she didn't send it, they did, in the hope that he replies at $$$ a time but they affiliate with local agencies, I am personal friends with one such RWGLOBE agency owner and RWGLOBE have very strict rules that their affiliate agencies are supposed to adhere to.
I don't know those rules in full but I got the expression that the agency is only allowed to send/receive/translate letters and everything is to be long distance, no exchange of email or web addresses nor agency information. I don't think RWGLOBE allow them to offer additional services once the guy arrives there such as transport, accommodation, sightseeing personal interpreter etc.
I guess this is because RWGLOBE wants the monopoly of ripping the guys off, they pay the agencies circa 50% of the letter fee and that is all the agencies are supposed to revenue from the punters.
So, it wouldn't have been RWGLOBE, being upset that you hadn't done more via the agency, it was the agency upset but had they done more for you then they would have been breaking the rules which it sounds like they just ignore anyway.
Hi there! After graduating from University i used to work as interpreter for Globaladies. I don't want to go into the details, but i quit as it was crazy! From the very beginning i didn't know how agencies work, but then when i realized, i decided to run away. That's why i never advise my clients to use agencies. I don't say that there are no honest women, there are, but very few.It is like, every country has good and bad people, same about agencies.
Globaladies, now calling themselves RWGlobe was my first website with these ladies. I met and visited a former singer and actress from that website in November 2007. She was featured in the Ukrainian Showbiz magazine and she was the host of a TV variety show in Dnepropretrovsk in 2005. Her voice was amazing, and she sang with feeling. I still have and listen to her CD. I even had it translated.
For some reason, she did not like me, but she did show me around Kiev and I had a great time. I am grateful that she gave me a chance. When I decided that the relationship was not going to go anywhere, I left her apartment in the middle of the night. That totally offended her. I talked to her via a private interpreter from a website before I went to visit her. The interpreter told me she was talking with another man. I thought that was normal, but I will beat him to Kiev. I did.
When I got back, the interpreter told me she asked the other man for an engagement ring. I sent the interpreter our pictures together. The interpreter, I believe also talked to the other man about me, and sent our pictures to him. That destroyed their relationship.
That is also where I met the professor from Zaporozhye. The professor and I decided we were not a match, but continued to call and e-mail each other. I have not communicated with her since July, because I don't want to complicate things, but I still have her e-mail and phone number.
Ukrainians, at least the ones I have been with are jealous. On my second visit, the lady I visited constantly asked about the actress and my current one asks a lot about my first two visits.
I'm confused. why did you send your pictures to the other man thru the interperter? In one sentence you are grateful for her giving you a chance, in the next sentence you are trying to destroy her relationships. are you a total psycho? you've met three women and have you have deemed all of them jealous. maybe they are not normally jealous. maybe you are just such a catch. yeah. i'm sure its that.
Gecko, I did not send the pictures to the lady through the interpreter. The interpreter has a website and is interested in what happens on visits. I sent the photos to the interpeter, but in no way did I know she was going to send it to him, and I don't know if she did. I just came to that conclusion because of the interpreter's attitude towards the lady.
I did have some communication with the lady shortly afterwards, and I asked her about the other guy and she told me that relationship fizzled. That was two weeks after I got back. They had a relationship for eight months and it fizzled two weeks after I got back. The conclusion that I came with was the interpreter sent him the pictures.
This was my first visit, Dan. I did not spend much on this one. In fact, I stayed in her apartment for free. I was about to book a hotel, and she said I could stay with her in her apartment. She lived alone in a two bedroom.
I ran out on her because I spent a whole week with her, I had one day left and she went to sleep without talking to me, like she did the night before and the night before that. I asked her many times to talk. It was only 10PM and if she worked, she would get home at midnight.
I thought we would talk about the future or even about the US and Ukraine. She did not show any affection towards me towards the end and would not even take pictures with me on the last few days. That last night there was well spent, by the way, without the girl....
The ballet was memorable. You dress real nice, check your coat in, rent binoculars... It cost $5.00 USD the first time, $10.00 USD the second time for each ticket. I offered to pay for seats near the front, but she was frugal We went twice. The first was Giselle, and the second, Nutcracker. I believe it when they say Ukraine has the best ballet in the world because I have been there.
If I had not left that night, it would I would have met one and only one person on that trip - her. That would have been alright if we had a relationship, but we didn't. Because I don't sleep much on vacations and because of jet lag, I spent many sleepless nights in Ukraine. It would have been another sleepless night like the night before.
Our letters before I went there spoke of marriage, many times. Things changed once I got there. Perhaps, it is because Globaladies helped her with the letters for me to keep writing - I don't know. I also have a feeling that she had a boyfriend in Ukraine. She closed the door many times for a phone conversation. I once overheard someone speaking Russian or Ukrainian.
I don't know what her purpose was. If it was money, someone put her up to it. I paid for everything when we went out, but she never asked me for anything. I felt she was shy to do it. Shortly after she told me her relationship with her boyfriend fizzled, she took her profile off all the websites she was in.
