You see, we are younger guys than these older guys in here. These other guys hang out with the older women (Age 25+). I was. I probably still am, and maybe there is a diamond in the rough, but maybe there isn't. I too had encounters with the unsavory types. Young Ukrainain guys spitting on the side walk as they strut around, cussing and yelling to each other. Fortunately I didn't get a chance to hang out with them at the bars while my translator is speaking English to everyone within shouting distance to draw more unwanted stares from the local guys. I am not slamming each Ukrainian girl. On a footnote: It was wierd but when I called off all the meetings with the girl that pulled this exact same BS on me? I later found out it was one of the saddest moments in her life, because she said to others that she really was interested in me and that she really did find me attractive, but she couldn't change what she was, it was how her mother had brought her up - her words exactly. Strange but true... AP I thought you had met the exact same girl I had when I went on my first visit to Ukraine. Ukraine is a strange place with people from all walks of life -- some very good -- some very bad. I agree with someone who wrote that looks are sometimes all these girls had -- especially when they are only a student, and in such a poor country it can be the only thing they define as their own self worth. So in the equation = better looking == better monetary value needed? Who knows... Money for love is just spiritual prostitution to me -- nothing worse or more disgusting to me in this big lonely world... I hope to marry someone who likes me and not my money. Check your AC Power adaptors if your from the US. You'll have to get some for all your electronic gear. And make a list of other agency telephone #'s just in case. Other than that, be prepared for anything... it's a crapshoot. I'm travelling to the Ukraine in about two weeks, Nikolaev specifically. I speak Russia near fluently, and am very knowledgable about the country and the people. My question... What do I wear? I have a girl I have been chatting with for a while, extremely pleasant girl. She isn't a 10, but I wasn't searching for a 10, I was looking for a woman I could connect with on MORE than a physical basis. Turns out I found a 9 1/2 that is extremely intelligent, funny and seems truly caring (sends texts occasionally to tell me she misses me etc., sent me flowers when I was ill). I really don't know what to wear though. I of course want to look good for her, but I know that modesty among men is the cultural norm. I don't want to show up wearing a simple (by our standards) pair of designer jeans and shirt, and end up looking arrogant. I am equally concerned with looking shabby while trying to be modest. Oh, and any info on how to arrange travel details from Kiev or Odessa to Nikolaev would be nice also. Thanks for any help you may provide. The women have great family values and the real women looking for love are not a easy push over, I have been seeing a women from odeesa for 3 years and we have a great relationship, it takes time to build. men who chase women 30 years younger then themself hoping to find love, ( are dreaming) the women see a bank account, the men see sex only.
