Hi Mike Great reading your comments – totally accurate as always. You have summed up perfectly in 2 posts above – the reasons for success and failure. I have thought – were you – me – Tom – and others whose names escape me – just lucky. Partly yes – but – it’s like all aspects of life that you want to succeed in. You only get back what you put in and one must keep things in perspective. Look for compatibility – keep the big head in control of the little head – and do not become impatient or start jumping from one plan to another. Keep being yourself and don’t use $$$ to influence or persuade. Lena just arrived Kiev for 33 days – mama just had operation and Lena needs some work done on a couple of ceramic crowns (would cost mega bucks here) – so I am batching and might spend a little time on here. Don’t know where that bloody loose cannon Steve is do you ????? Hope he not been turned into noodles in Thailand ?????? Peter - NZ

Maxirat, I think with all things there are certainly luck involved, Nasfan mentioned in meeting his wife, he had 3 to pick from and by default chose the right girl. Being at the right place at the right time is important. This past trip I met a girl because the girl I was supposed to see backed out(I think)and I for first time went to an agency to meet the girl. Maybe it is fate but I feel things happen for a reason. I am happy for all you guys who have been successful.

Hi beemer Yes – luck does play a part – in all life – it plays a part. But I am trying to point out to others that one has to lay down guidelines (realistic ones) and keep on track. There are many good women in FSU – but – even my wife will tell you – there are many/many more bad ones. Ones that will take advantage of any $$ opportunity that is put in front of them. Even some of my wife’s ex work collogues and family friends, in our 1st months of communications – only wanted to know about my wealth status etc and what Lena was going to gain from the pending relationship. Getting back to the “luck” side of it. Yes – one little “tick” in a box by my wife’s daughter, put us together. Difficult to explain, but the dating site we met on used 1st instance intro – by way of – you tick me if you like my profile – and I tick you if I like your profile. Very good and simple system, and I still think the best I have ever seen !!!

Nas: you might be right about Northants,I'll check later next week!!.....as always though Jim is the type of poster who sees what he wants to see "mouth in gear,brain in neutral". The puzzling thing is why these people bother to write on a forum like this.Is it just curiosity or perhaps a sneaking belief that there might be something in this FSU dating thing!!

Peter Good hearing from you!! Larissa is heading back to Mariupol in September for a month. I don't know about the dentist there in Mariupol. We had a bunch of work done on her mouth before she came here and had to re-do it again. Tom Just got married a few weeks ago. As for the lucky thing, of course, but it was calculated luck and as my father used to tell me those who worked hardest were the luckiest. Yeah we all worked at it, acted like genuine men, didn't try to impress with money etc, you know the drill. It's just these bozo's that come on these sites and write absolute rubbish. They know little about these countries, very seldom I'm sure many have travelled far away from home. They destroy guys sitting on the fence making a decision to try this. Gladiator I envy the hell out of you!! You live so close, I've decided if you need bail money, have your wife email me your covered. Though save some leftovers for me when I come please!!!!!!! I think there's a third point to you post. They envy, envy the fact we had the balls to do it, envy the fact that these ladies have been labled bad, but in reality are class acts. Envy the fact that these women hold their youth and beauty way into older years. Envy the fact that most that travel here are university educated. Envy the fact that we succeed where they never tried or have failed miserably.

Beemer Sure luck plays a part in it, but I should clarify a little more about what I said. There was about a 95% chance I was going to visit my wife only. That was because we had many life experiences in common, and I knew how she would react in situations here. She worked just as hard toward are relationship as I did. It's hard to deny a person your time and efforts when they put into a relationship as much as you do. The other ones had little nuances that I knew would be difficult for me to live with, not impossible but difficult. So I wasn't going to BS any of these girls. One wanted children, she was 35 and I didn't know at my age, at the time I was 45 if I wanted to become involved in child rearing again. Which in the long run, I really didn't so I probably wouldn't have met her. She knew my feelings about it early on, but she continued to correspond with me. Which in the long run, I think I was being played a little, maybe by her and the agency. Peter I haven't a clue what Steve is doing, or where he is at. He's popped in a couple of times and we've traded some barbs, along with Viva. I respect a guy like Jetmba, who wasn't successful his first time around and didn't come on these boards and rip women from the FSU. As this was a needle in the haystack kind of adventure. It may be but if we're smart enough we make the haystack a little smaller.

Hi Max I thought you were travelling with Lena to Ukraine this trp? Be good to enjoy a bit of the Northern summer. Which way did she fly to Kiev ? Through BK or another way? I cant wait to go Russia again, looking at August, before the end of summer. Comes down to how much time is reasonable to take off work. Been thinking if things keep going well with my girl I would like to bring her out here for a holiday. Do you think thats possible with immigration?

Adman You mentioned (if my memory and accuracy serves me right) that your lady can get West European country entry without to much problem. Our Immigration are pedantic bastards. The best bet is for her to book a tour or travel via a tourist operator from Russia. Other wise – you will be struggling to persuade NZIS you warrant a Visitors Visa. She has a good job – and income – so she perhaps best to go it alone without you getting involved – unless you want to make another trip over there. (how long did the two of you live together – was only a couple of weeks wasn’t it) Mike – you mention Steve – who is Viva – has he found love ?????? Congratulations Tom !!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy 4U both. I can still see that photo of you both with that fish – they say – a photo tells a 1000 words – that photo told me you had many happy years coming your way - It was a cracker !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adman Oh yea – we had intended going together to Kiev next month. But – I have a court case coming up and Lena had to get back for tooth repair ASAP. Plus the dog has just been spayed and I have got about 2000 propagated plants and flowers of Lena’s to look after !!!! Lena went same route as last year via Seoul – Moscow – Kiev. $2660 which includes a free night over in Seoul – which according to Lena is 5 Star and makes the trip more pleasant. So I will have to stay here and winter it . She said it was 32c yesterday in Kiev !!!

I have given details to Nasfan, in private email regarding what happened. And I must point out, I have no reason to rip FSU for the truth is, with the first one - I got exactly what I was looking for. When I attended that Romance Social in Odessa - I was looking specifically for the youngest, most beautiful (the combination) woman there - and that is exactly what I got. I was 46, she was 23. (What I mean is that there were younger women there - but none more beautiful.) If you ever see the Italian movie "Cheeky!" which actually stars a Slavic woman born in Odessa (who's name eludes me but she has been described as one of the most gorgeous women in film) my lady, physically, bore an uncanny and striking resemblence to her. Her figure was identical. Trouble was, this lady was as spoiled. Had no desire to work. Didn't care about anybody else. Just wanted to spend money. I wasn't looking for the right personality type the first time around - just sexy and beautiful. And I GOT exactly what I was looking for. So how can I complain? THIS TIME I was looking for personality. And I think I found exactly what I was looking for again. She's still beautiful (still knock the socks off of any American woman I have ever met). But she is NOT full-of-herself like my first lady was. A useful adage for ME in the FSU is "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it." And I did. But honestly - I still had a better three years with her than I could ever have imagined previously. I didn't go bankrupt. It didn't cost me all that much. And I have some meories that will last me a lifetime.
