Land of oz,
Only 50%, I got fed up of explaining to 90% of Brits that Ukraine is not in Russia.
I know exactly why most of the guys are only focusing on Ukraine, it's because they're too bone idle, or tight, to apply or pay for a visa.
If you had a dozen long legged beauties standing in a line, one from each of 12 FSU countries, and one of the ladies was from Ukraine, you'd have a 100 guys all going for the same lady whilst the other 11 beauties are ignored.
Focking hell, talk about commercialism, the more and more guys that head off only to Ukraine then the more spoilt for choice of guy, and expensive gifts of course, these Ukrainian ladies are going to become. Such guys are their own worst enemies, they can realise that sooner or later but they will realise it.
OM,
If I had provided a computer every time I had been asked then I would have probably bought a dozen or so.
Are you happy with the way communications are at the moment, perhaps you can help her with internet costs of approx $1 per hour but why does she need a laptop, I'll tell you, to write to all the other guys and to show it off to her friends.
And I bet if you asked her to choose a laptop in the shops she'd opt for the very expensive 'all singing and all dancing' model :)
OM
strange isn't it, our morals around the world is no different, just isn't.
from Russia to Fiji.
shoes off at door.
don't allow children to run the house.
help who is in need.
but,
i could never ask a person for such, just couldn't.
why is it so easy for them?
kind of reminds me of immature or spoilt children.
HI
She has a computer ( her cousin) and we chat once a week. I bought her a camera and a other things, she suggested the gold necklace and she actually ask for the money. Her excuse, probably like many, "I am not doing well need help and I want to learn English for you".
No I did not tell her how much money I make, maybe is that in Kiev, I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel and got a private car to pick me up and I travel business class, and she knew becasuse I met her at the airport.
I just told her no money for the internet and that I will wait until I meet her again before more money I gave 600 Eu, last week, I think pretty good for her.
I think I will do what you guys suggests I will call her on the 11 of Dec since it is her birthday but wait until them, there are two things I did not like her, voice when asked for money and her honey-dear on the phone sound fake.
I am done with the FSU ladies, because I do not mind to invest in a lady in the future maybe with me, but I will not take one until I know her well and had at least one year or more.
I divorce could cost me more than a marriage, I am a happy camper alone,
Thansk to every one, I take all comments and critics.
I think it is difficult to find a lady who is not materialistic in any country, however, there is a difference between being materialistic (which is vain and greedy enough) and taking someone for a ride!
Any lady whop is asking for a laptop is rather taking the p1ss I think, no matter how much money the man has in his bank account.
If the lady is genuine then she knows that there would probably be no need for the laptop, as ultimately she may get her man and get a laptop anyway. As a previous post mentioned, internet costs are pretty dam cheap in the FSU. So OM, think she is having a laugh on this one!
kiwinorth,
It is so easy for them because many a guy has gone before you, a vast majority of them from the west side of the Atlantic, and showered these ladies with gifts. One lady talks 'brags' to another lady and before you know it the situation is out of control.
I think I've told this story before but for those that missed it I'll tell it again.
There was an American guy taking his 'fiancee' to USA. To display what a 'man' he was he pre-opened a bank account in the lady's name and deposited $10,000 in it and he discussed it, bragged it to, the agency that this is the right thing to do, to the effect that all men should do it, and the money was there to support the lady during the fiancee visa term ..... and only the fiancee visa term.
Of course the agency thought this was an excellent idea, wouldn't we if someone offered us $10,000, and began to promote it amongst all the ladies.
When I got to hear of it, from my wife, I almost choked on my beer. I couldn't believe it and explained that during the fiancee visa period her accommodation, food on the table etc. would be provided and in the event that the relationship broke down then, by law, she would be required to leave the country and an air ticket does not cost $10,000, more like $1,000.
And, with accommodation and food provided she would only otherwise need knick knacks, cosmetics, something to wear, perhaps a new pair of shoes and, and I stand to be corrected, a US fiancee visa is only valid for 3 months thus how in gods name can anyone justify spending the equivalent of USD40,000 per year on knick knacks?
Even the wife had to agree with me on that one :)
So there you go, one lady gets $10,000, the next lady want's $15,000, the next $20,000 and so on and just by the 'showing off' of one focking idiot!
interesting Martin, wow more money then brains.
they know its not right.
it still comes back to good morals and we all have them if we choose to.
basically these woman have lowered themselves to something i will not say here.
and yes we can blame ourselves for it but still there is she fluttering her eyes asking for more then a taxi fare, "its her asking".
to have the cheek to do this, thank god they do, saves a lot of wasted time figuring them out..
Yorkie has said it to a t, very short termers timers would mainly ask.
kiwinorth,
It's a matter of what they believe is 'normal' in an international relationship.
It's not how they were brought up, it's what they see going on now, one guy buys a lady a gift, she exaggerates the cost to her friend, her friend wants something more expensive from her boyfriend and so it goes on like a Chinese whisper.
Like the $10,000 jerk, he told them that was normal so who do they believe, to them they've heard it from the horse's mouth so it must be true.
But, that is Ukraine for you, I had 2 previous girlfriends, not at the same time though, in Uzbekistan. I spent a week or so with each, one subsequently came to live with me, biggest mistake perhaps I ever made, and during those week's together one didn't ask me for a single cent and the other asked me, on the last day, for $100 to help her improve her English. It wasn't going to work out between us, I had more or less already decided that, but I gave her the $100 just to string her along whilst I made a final decision once I got back home.
That why I gasp in amazement at all the guys only considering Ukraine, aside from the major cities in Russia it's probably the most expensive, with expensive tastes of the ladies to match, of the countries to travel to but for the sake of a visa I'm reading all these hard luck stories, I wonder why :)
Martin...with all your talk about Ukraine...your two girlfriends and wife are Ukrainian.....did you go to Russia many times to meet girls??? Just curious??? I don't remember you ever talking about going to Russia in past year and half. If I am wrong, I am sorry, just don't remember anything!!! That was one idiot with his $10,000 gift....it was probably his life savings.
Yorkie...yes costs are cheap to go into internet cafe...but what a hassle, especially if you are writing many letters and having much to say in each while thinking about what to say. In an hour, there were times I only was able to read and send only couple of letters
Hello Mrs Zoo
Thanks for your enlightenment on the wilely ways of the womens mind.
Perhaps you could tell my if it is normal for FSU women to be uncommittal when being asked out. For example if on Tuesday I ask them to go out on Friday, they might answer, "maybe we will see". If I was to get such an answer form a western woman, I usume she does not want to go out with me, but it seems to be the game FSU women want to play even if they really want to go out.
Do FSU women expect you to push harder? For me I just go into super causal and make sure I am doing something else when Friday comes around. So the date gets missed and the following week they are asking me out.
Im just wondering if this is the normal game thats played? Seems such waste of time.)
Adman,
i would not jump to a conclusion abt what it really means. on the one hand,it may point out that the girl is not interested in u (or just has her own plans) and does not want to say straight-NO (and u may find it out only if u "push harder", otherwise it will remain unsaid). But on the other, we differ from u in that we r not used to plan our days....:)) so if she says that way, she is likely not to know what she will be doing on friday:) so "push harder" and u ll know the truth:)
it s normal:)
Beemer,
You are quite right, I have never been to Russia, only Uzbekistan and Ukraine however, and like other(s) on this forum, in those days Ukraine required a visa, indeed I have a collection of Ukraine visas, so I can honestly say that I did not opt for Ukraine for convenience.
Indeed technically my wife is not Ukrainian, sure she holds a UA passport but her parents are Russian and she was born and lived her childhood in Uzbekistan.
Martin..I have been to russsia a couple times and getting the visa is a hassle because you have to do more planning but if I liked a girl I would have no problem getting a visa. I do have to agree it is more convenient
to visit ukraine and most times my plans change up to couple weeks before leaving and it also does give me a chance to visit other FSU countries at last minute. I do find much more english signs in ukraine than russia, also in Moscow at domestic terminal, it took quite a long time for me to find someone that spoke english to help me, even at info desk the lady only had pre made signs in english.
Thanks Mrs zoo and nbk, It seem the lady likes to play hard to get. It took 2 wks to negotiate the terms of engagement for the 2nd date, but it was truly worth it. Turned out to be the best date Ive had all year. Im pretty sure theres going to be a 3rd...
There are some real finds in the local Russian community.
Adman,
2 week negotiations...rather strange... looks like a big deal with a contract, a few specifications between 2 big international companies:))))))) but if u liked it , it must have been worth it:)
nbk
Sometimes its like fly fishing and you have to be patient and tease them onto the hook. They only want what they cant have )
The woman doesnt drink or smoke and has never heard of Prada. (The perfect woman)
