The lady I met was distraught because all that was left were 3rd class. She made it sound like it was an open car with beds on the floor. But of course she was a gold digger. I enjoyed 3rd class. There are 4 bunks then a hallway with two bunks running length ways on the other side of the hall. Your mattress lifts and you put your luggage in the compartment under it. For a small sum of money you buy clean sheets and pillow cases. There was not a door to shut your compartment but other than that it was not much different than second class. there were 3 of us and a very pleasant young lady had the number 4 spot. 5 and 6 were across the hall so they did not even seem to be in the same room. I rode first class once and a business lady that was not in very good humor had the 2nd spot there. I see the significance is more in who your neighbors are than what class you are in. OK, bassuk suggested Kiev but the lady didn't exactly strike up an argument that he must travel to her city, it would seem she agreed without question. I recall my first FSU girlfriend, being ex cold war military I was somewhat nervous of travelling to a country I had been barred from travelling to for umpteen years, so I suggested meeting in Prague (which wasn't in the EU at that time), of course I booked and paid for her air tickets from Kiev however she lived in Crimea and, at that time, it simply proved impossible to book her tickets from Simferopol to Kiev, she travelled by train and I don't recall that it dawned upon me to reimburse her for the train fares. Perhaps bassuk is a beginner, he's read the story 'don't send money to someone you haven't met' but if she turns out to be a 'taker' of expensive shopping trips then I wouldn't reimburse her the train fare, in cash, either, she's had that in clothes and cosmetics. On the other hand if she turns out to be genuine then I, with years of experience, would reimburse her in full for the train or air fares but this is a learning process. I've travelled to FSU something like 15 times thus I could preach to most that you're doing it all wrong but I try not to, you've all got to learn for yourselves and bassuk has to learn just the same. I had a good friend who I tried to meet but we never did. She does not think is anything wrong to ask if the man has money and she plans to give herself she lives in Kherson. A lady from Russia that I met once she never ask for anything and I took her to Italy and we travel Russia, is to bad she is to young for me, I gave her several gifts got some clothes and gave her my notebook. She never ask and I was happy giving her money I send her about 500 to help her with the school. She is tankfull and mails me every month. My Natalia a lady from Mariopol is just the oposite, I took her to Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt three different trips each about 1500 just for her trip, not counting all the gifts, she is adorable lovely great company sweet playfull a gift from heaven, but a gold digger, she tells me "I work to hard 10 hrs a day, little money 150 to 200 dollars a month, need money to help my parents and buy the things all ladies need at my age". And this is after I gave 500 from English lessons and 150 for her Birthday and 200 for the Holidays, is it my fault probably, because we stay at the Sherathon and Westin Hotels or R Carlton club level and she is treated like a princess and I think she is just wrong. The last Lady, I am canceling the meeting, she told me, she needs $2000. for her trip to take her to Tunisia or Egypt. She is by Dnostek, and already telling that she is not doing to well and sorry she does not have the means to pay her train to Kiev, and she wishes to travel. I just called today another lady that we chat for a while but she ended telling I am not her type, we still friends. And she also thinks that Natalia from Mariopol, is fine asking for money, since I have nothing wrong to help my lady. I think it all comes down to money. Lucky the ones who found a lady who is just interested on the man. I am going back to Russia ladies, not from Moscow they are worse and neither from St Pett. But Saratov, Samara, Vonastek very different. I accept opinions, and do not make my mistake to pay and offer in front, or even worse do not let them know you travel bussines class or taking them from the airport in a limo, they go bananas, I will travel next time with small bag and regular flats or small hotel, local restaurants nothing on my to show money and I am going to see if the are so willing to meet and travel. Up to you if you want to use that approach, but if you ask me its just the kind of thing that has bred the existence of the golddigger - they then come to expect to be showered with dollar bills. I suggest the meeting in Kiev because a) its easy for me and b) I know she travels there occasionally anyway as shes doing some correspondence degree or something from a Kiev university. I deliberately didn't mention means of travel or payment for her to see how she would react and she is still apparently keen to make the trip. If she turns up (and doesn't frog march me to the nearest Prada outlet ...) I'll reimburse her. Possible sticking point is the interpreter because she wants to use the agency one who translates her letters, but I think I'll insist on using one I hire myself. Language problems!! If you meet in her city, her interpreter is there, she is more comfortable with her. I always use girl's interpreter in first couple meeting to break ice, after that it is no interpreter or my own. If she brings her own interpreter, more expenses, a problem I ran into on first trip. If it happens to me again, I will send girl back home. Do you know her well enough that she will travel alone to meet a stranger?? Bassuk....'easy for you' is a bad reason!!! :)) If she happens to be there..a good reason. Good luck!! I returned from my first trip to Russia last week to visit a friend I met while she was visiting USA last Summer, and I was amazed by the beauty of the girls there. My curiosity, along with google.com, brought me to your site. I read all the comments above. I'm curious, where do you guys meet all these girls you are talking about? Are they prostitutes, or are you and the girls looking for a serious relationship? How long do you stay there? Do you meet with many girls or just one each time you go? Do you usually sleep with them on your first visits with them? Do you meet their families? I understand my questions may seem naive, but I would appreciate any insight you may be able to lend. I have a girlfriend in Russia whom I met while she was in USA on work-study, and we have communicated via email and myspace ever since. I went to Moscow 2 weeks ago for the first time, and really was suprised by all amazing girls there. I found this forum the other day while searching for information on how my GF might be able to come back to visit me in the states. On here, I see that some guys say they go to the FSU and meet up with 20+ girls on one trip. That is why I asked if they might be prostitutes. It was honestly out of curiosity. I didn't realize at the time that agencies will set up all these dates for you. As for me, I just want to see my GF again. As for the "twit" comment, why call someone names when they are asking serious questions? After reading through the archives, I saw a few guys mention that they meet up to 20 girls on each visit to FSU. This seemed unrealistic to me, prompting me to ask if some guys meet "working girls". I in no way implied that this is what most guys do...it was merely a question. I apologize if I was misunderstood. I think I am here with the same interests and goals as most of you.
