There was never any problem with the age thing. My wife at the time was 33. Most of the men of her age group (33-43) were gone. Lost in their war with Afghanistan. I was 46 at the time. you simply do not see very many men in Ukraine betweend 40-50. Also their are not many men above 67 yo, Stalin and Hitler got rid of them. My exwife told me that any woman over 24 yo has almost no chance of finding a husband. The good one's are already married and the spoiled one's do not wish to marry. When I was in Istanbul, I seen several Turks with Russian girlfriends, and before anyone chips in here, it was rather obvious that they were'nt prostitutes. I'm all for cultural mixing, no matter what nationalities are involved. It seems strange to me though, that a Turkish muslim man can take a non muslim girlfriend, but if a non muslim man makes romantic advances toward a muslim woman there is almost civil war from her family. I once chatted up a muslim lady who was single, in her family restaurant, and her brothers ( who I thought were friends ) ordered her to go straight home, and told me that if I did it again, ''things would happen to me '' as it is not allowed in Islam. They were making it quite clear that I would be violently attacked. On another point more relevant to the discussion on this thread, My girlfriend told me recently that in Volgograd, the women outnumber the guys two to one. Often this point has been debated on the forum , but there it was confirmed from someone who has lived there several years. It is standard practice. That said, anything is possible. Just remember when you were 19 or 20, you had a strong will but no idea what you were doing the next day, let alone the rest of your life. Find a woman who you share commonalities with and be willing to compromise on any issue. Language difference can be a lot of fun if you both decide to learn together. I am living in Nikolaev to spend more time with my one and only. We have known each other for the past year now and care for each other very much. Don't be in a hurry to spend the rest of your life with someone you don't know. Take your time. The women here are real women. Some are wonderful, some are not. They have families and friends just like most of you. Love from any person is never just given. Honesty is the foundation to everything. Any woman with a heart who will love you forever, will make you earn every ounce of it. It's sad to note how many men think they can just come here, fall in love, propose and fly away with a new wife. IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY HERE OR ANYWHERE. If you need coaching, you sure as hell don't need to be looking for a woman from the FSU. If you are not confident enough to do this, you shouldn't be here at all. It will take time to find a woman, at least a real one that wants to spend time with you. Those who go there and think it's easy to find a woman in the FSU is headed for disaster. If you're not ready to spend money, time to stay at home. This is not a inexpensive exercise. Most of the guys who come here and bitch about women from the FSU neither want to spend time nuturing a relationship or the money. One trip wonders as Martin calls them aren't usually successful. There's an exception to every rule, but most I have seen here have failed. I will agree with Bill above on the language issue. If you find a real woman, learning each others language is fun and brings each a little closer. Don't be afraid of a woman who says here english skills are bad, chances are she speaks a little more than you think.
