Met Clapton in Chicago, Shot pool with Mark Martin in North Liberty Indiana, Still have pains in my hand from a handshake I got from Walter Payton. Played Golf with Bob Knight at a Ford Outing. Had beers with John Entwhistle, while he was watching Mason Ruffner perform in a Nightclub in New Orleans. Funny thing, My wife didn't know who any of these people were. They only know the idiots from Hollywood that get way to much press for stupidity. Let alone discuss the subject. This is why some here call a certain country the most hated on the earth. Because we act and don't sit around wringing out hands. Of all the wars the US was involved in, only 3 didn't have a European influence. Plus our total conflicts don't even mirror what has went on in Europe. So when one says a country was occupied, they should elaborate why, not just make out one as the evil country and why they are hated, but explain how not just one occupied but two then divided them up amongst themselves. While the those who had treaties did nothing. At least I can look in a mirror with honesty. Beemer, probably not. Though the perception is that most of America acts that way. Until she got here and took a different impression of the typical American. Not the ones that you hear about on these forums, which at times I wonder how much of that isn't someone grinding an axe. We traveled quite a bit and we are looking at a West Coast trip here in the near future. She does identify the difference, but she said there is a common thread amongst us. Our work ethic. She never realized how hard most Americans work especially the ones who have their own business, until she found out herself and how we work at ours. Most of all she says we get an unfair shake in Europe, due to the fact they don't know or don't care to know the reality. We are overly friendly she says and we help each other even total strangers where in Europe most would go by and let someone go on their own. I think the biggest shock for her will be going to Hollywood, I mean the real local. She doesn't realize what it is really like. She has this vision of beautiful homes and the like, I told here it's pretty dumpy and the sign is the best part. A cruise up 101 will be interesting for her. Nothing really planned just a week of doing and seeing whatever. Culture shock doesn't bother her anymore, it humors here now. Her first words when we landed in Chicago and seeing the multitude of strange people from all over the world was,"I have truly landed on Mars." Libs in California, Wow that's a news flash!!LOL! Hey she's been to Chicago The Peoples Republic of Cook County, so it won't be that much of a shock. If you're in the area when we come, I'll buy you an adult beverage. There are areas that have many immigrants from whatever country they came from...Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Middle East, even russians. There are signs (advertisements) here I have no idea what they say. I do know the Russian ones now. Hollywood Blvd is getting a face lift, so it is not as bad as before but I wouldn't walk the side street's at night too much. During day it is pretty nice. The Kodak Theatre( Academy awards) is very nice inside, newest place is Nokia Theatre by Staples center in Downtown area. Best to go east of there...Bevery Hills..Rodeo drive..that is where she pictured beautiful homes. For active people "The Strand" is popular. Manhatten, Hermosa, Redondo, Newport Beaches!!!! Something foreign to people from the Midwest!!!! We get a lot of runaways from there. A buddy of mine from High School moved out there and was working for Air Canada at the time. This was about 1978 when I first got introduced to 2 man volleyball on the beach before it became a pretty big sport on ESPN. I remember you could fly PSA(People Scattered Allover)folks from San Diego and LA will know what I mean, for 18 dollars one way, so a trip to LA was about twice a month for me. As foreign, we have dunes in Northern Indiana and lower Michigan and motorcross is extremely popular. The only thing foreign out there for us is we have to buy a dictionary at the airport so we can understand the local lingo LOL! To judge whole nations by such limited experience is sad. We can expect our governments to spread this kind of propaganda but the common people should be able to live together. Of course each nation has its share of thieves, murderers, and liars but this is usually a small minority of the population. They are compulsive shoppers don't know the value of a dollar and don't care to. They base their love on me me me. What can you buy me? Don't get suckered into finding one of these women even if she is hot. When I look for a woman if she is all dressed up and flaunting her body in her pictures that is a big red flag, 9 times out of 10 she will be a gold digger. I went to court today re by divorce proceeding. My wife left after 1.5 years of marriage. She is claiming I abused her and is after every penny I have. Her new attorney was asking for $24K in attorney's fees...the judge awarded him $4K 1/2 of which he lost in sanctions for not giving proper notice. My attorney said his fees were so over the top as to be laughable. He was claiming 8 hours in travel time from Los Angeles to Corona (a distance of about 40 miles round trip.) Here is a question. Her attorneys are claiming the I-134 I signed states that I have to support her for TEN years but as I recall I just had to guarantee that she would not become a public charge for three years after her entry into the country. Any of you have any knowledge about this? The judge also terminated her $2000 a month spousal support which I have been paying for 10 months in a 19 month marriage. The restraining order issue will be addressed March 13 as they have to have a Russian speaking interpreter there. Ukrainian girls encourage there husband to earn more money and live better. Russian woman usually take most of financial responsibilities for family and kid themselves. That is why they can not afford more then one kid and it is one of the reason why level of living in Russian families is usually lower than Ukrainian. If you are looking for a FSU woman you are on the WRONG WAY. At least ask and discuss financial questions before you got married. She would expect attitude to her as to equal person.
