I guess I have never read the instructions. Nor have I ever had the address of where I am staying. The first time I told them Cindy agency Karl marks ave and that was all I knew. since then I can remember their address but it has changed now so I still put the wrong one down. I usually rent an apt from them but they never give me the address until I am there. 2 out of three times there was a problem and I did not get the apt I booked anyway. Last time I only booked 5 days then extended it and wanted to extend again but it was booked so they moved me for the last part of my stay. I paid for 4 days but a couple hrs after I was moved they called, said there was a problem and I needed to be out the next day and they had no more apartments so my friend helped me rent one and I had to go back to the Cindy office and get my money back for the days I was not able to stay there.

The thing about the 'supposedly' changeable air tickets, for a reasonable fee, is that there has to be a seat of the same booking class available to change to. If one has booked the cheapest class and wants to change at minimal notice then what are the chances of a seat in that booking fare being available?

cheers bass! i'm hoping to fly out at the end of the week, i've just got a few things to sort out first. i've left my job and have just sold my 2nd house so i can spend a decent amount of time there. OZ! that url is fantastic! will help me feel a bit less nervous when it comes to filling in the forms for real!

martin, i just took a look at swiss and it seems pretty expensive to me, somewhere over 600UKP? it says that you can't rebook if you go for the much cheaper economy tickets. also, the flights seem to go via zurich? does anyone know of an airline that flies direct, or does it get a lot more expensive? i seem to remember googling and found a BA flight that was direct and didn't seem too expensive at the time. wish i had book marked it! :-)

pete, Where do you live? If you live on the doorstep of Heathrow or Gatwick then you can fly direct with Buggered Airways (BA) or www.flyuia.com . The only problem with UIA is that their flight departs from Kiev at 0900 of a morning so one has to be in KIev for the night before, if one's ultimate destination is a city other than Kiev than one day of time with lady lost. After I mentioned Swiss I took a look and realised the price of flexi tickets had shot up, did you notice that a business class flex is cheaper than an economy class flex? :) pete, go to www.kelkoo.co.uk then click on 'flights' and enter an itinery, if you don't live in London then enter from Brum, Manch, Narwich, Geordieland, Bristol, Cardiff or wherever to see what results come up then go direct to that airline, not travel agent, website for a fare a few quid cheaper and to view T&C's. Because I don't live in London I nearly always fly via another European airport with such airlines as KLM, Lufthansa, MALEV Hungarian, Swiss, Austrian etc. I would much rather transit a European airport than I would Heathrow.

Thing about flights is that airlines calculate ticket numbers factoring in a certain amount of over booking to compensate for the fact that there are always people who miss their flights, also they factoring in the under utilization of business class to allow them to overbook economy class even more - they will often just bump people to business class if too many people turn up for economy on any given flight. Thus they have more flexibility with economy class bookings than you might think.

bass, It's been all of 3 days sice I was upgraded to business but that was KLM seeing common sense. Having already queued to check-in for four and a half hours, and missed 2 flights to Birmingham in the process, an upgrade expedited what would have been a further two hours of queueing during which time I would have seriously lost my sense of humour :)
