Sounds like Uzbek money is worth less than toilet paper and is good for nothing but wiping your ass with as it would take a wad of it to buy real toilet paper!.
Well here is a question...is toilet paper widely used in Ukraine or they use biddettes to wash the behind with after doing number two's
I've never had any problem getting money out of an ATM in Russia and I do it every week or so. Just fill in your migration card while you are on the plane, they should pass them out to any passenger needing one.
Yes Beemer flying out of kansas city does not have the options LA does. I have only seen one flight from there that has only one stop and that involves flying Midwest to Lagaurdia airport in New York and then buyng a 30 minute bus ride to JFK airport and taking Aerosvit or Delta to Kiev. Delta flys out of KC to Jfk but not until switching planes first at another city. And I do not mind the difficulty but it is a little irritating when you change a $20 bill at a Paris airport bank for 9.18 Euros. I mean come on buddy the dollar is down but not that bad. And being sent across the terminal 3 times and then being told there was not one there with directions to find a pay Internet and then stumbling onto it 10 feet from the Computer store owner who told me there was none.
I did talk to Delta yesterday mainly about my luggage delay. They sent me a $200 voucher good for domestic or international flights with Delta and directed me to Air France about my luggage. That makes kind of a tough decision whether to trash the $200 or fly with those characters again.
Talked to Air France and they indicated if I had receipts from buying toiletries and new clothes to send them in for the luggage delay.
Oz, I see your problems...I am just glad I live in big city and have many choices. Twice I had connecting flights through JFK from ukraine, customs is a mess, especially if other planes land at same time and I have to walk from terminal 8 to 9 or 9to 8, don't remember now. I have to say that long flight at beginning of trip is very nice and it 'seems' to go very fast. My behind and back do not get stiff. I do have miles on delta to redeem, so I soon will go through JFK again.
Hope you can get out of airlines something equitable to your troubles. Knock on wood...have not had any luggage problems yet. I figure the more stops chances increase!!!! Good luck in July, hope things turn out great!!!...I am jealous of you!!! :)))
I am not impressed with my itinerary this time. It is US air to Dullies at DC and then Lufthansa to Frankfort and then Kiev. But I stay the night at Kiev this time instead of going on. Last time there were two buses that went from Borispol to Dnipro in the morning, a train at 5:45 PM and then the night train at 11+ Pm. I got to the train station at 5:30 PM and stood in line for a few minutes to buy a ticket before realizing that was futile for the 5:45 train so I went to the train, found the captain and told him I did not have a ticket and ask if he would sell me a place. 10 minutes and $30 later I was sitting in a first class cabin headed for Dnipro.
I could have payed a scalpers price in the station of $50 for I do not know what class of seat. The time before that I was there you had to show your passport and your name was on your ticket. But now in Ukraine anyhow your train ticket does not have your name on it so anyone could use it. This opens it up for scalpers to buy generic tickets and double or triple their money if they can sell them.
