What has worked for me todate in separating the good ones from the rubbish is paying attention to the drastic differences in writing styles and information shared upon request. Simply put, I am convinced that if a woman who claims to be interested in you is serious about goals such as marriage and a future involving family life, she should NOT hesitate about sharing basic information for private contact by e-mail phone and/or snail-mail. And most importantly she should share information about YOU with her own family....PERIOD. Otherwise the message sent to you translates to something like this: "Dear naive well meaning sucker, I think you're cute and a good mark for me to target...I really really really wish I didn't have to share any important information about me until AFTER I start getting you to send me gifts, money, flowers, etc etc etc...at which point I shall simply drop you like a bad habit for being such a dumb ass" TimH Member send PM   block PM add to buddies Send: 4/6/2004 2:29:07 PM   Blu, $150 a month is about dead right !! I write to my lady every day, she writes to me 5 days a week (agency doesn't work at weekends) and my monthly cost is around $150, don't be such a tight ass and assume that you are being scammed !! Its highly likely that this is the correct rate for her agency. Yes, the cost of living there is low, but so is income !! $1250 is a fair rate if you two write like we write, trust me on that one !! Do you know the name of the agency involved ? I have an adopted Ukrainian sister who will tell me if its legit or not (and before you doubt, I have spent real time with my sister, and we have been like brother and sister for almost 2 years, we share all our thoughts and advice, and she is married to an American, Steve, and will soon be travelling to the US to be with him, if she tells me they are bad or good she is telling the truth and you can bank on that) Don't just look at a web site that tells you basic facts about incomes and such like, talk to us guys here who have Real experience of the FSU and its ways, at least with us you will get honest feedback !! For another thing, the girl wouldn't take money from you to help replace her stuff !! Now that fact does Not say scammer to me !!! To me that shows her integrity and her pride !! I really think you may have been harsh on this lady, unless you know more that you haven't yet mentioned in your post of course !! Last point, robberies and breakins happen there all the time, its a daily problem in ALL FSU cities, so its likely that that is the truth too !! I plan on traveling to Kiev around Aug,.. Hopefully I have better luck there in person. The best things in life are usually those that come to us after taking risks that others are too afraid of taking. Besides, technically speaking (and without trying to offend you) nobody gives a damn about how you FEEL, buddy....that's exclusive female territory. You will earn everyone's (specially your honey's) respect and appreciation by what you THINK and DO. Just be wise, learn from other people's mistakes and be honest with your honey. Sending you a copy of her passport photo page is a heck of a show of good faith, in my not so humble opinion. Unless of course the photo does not match to the ones you've seen of her....or if her daddy has a "print shop" of some kind, lol. First of all, that such girl really is. But it don’t means, that it is exactly her. I don’t understand logic. I am Russian girl. From what happiness I’ll send copy of my passport to boy ? And you don’t trust her. How do you think, she don’t feel it ? I don’t know your situation good. If you want to be more sure, that she is really she, ask send not only first list, but whole. That time you will see, where she lives, was she marry, do she have children. Do she have passport for another countries (and when she was receive it ). We have all this information at passport. But, from another side.. I don’t know your girl, but I don’t understand her at all. It is or very naïve human, or very clever scammer. Because attitude building on trust. And if you haven’t it from start - what attitude you will have? And that doesnt take into account that she may have to have the letters translated too !! Divvy up my friend, unless you dont want to progress with this lady, and never forget, she refused Point blank to let you help her replace her things, at least help her to save a litte money to replace her stuff by taking some of the burden of writing from her shoulders !! We have sent e-mail after e-mail, both talking about everything under the sun. She has always sent me a picture of her in the e-mails, some are in the house some are out side, and some look like they could be professional. She has never asked me for any money, and it`s been almost 3 months that we have been talking thru emails & once on the phone. She has asked me to fly there to meet with her a couple of times. I was supposed to go there on april 29, but I decided not too about a week before that. So I dedcided that I would pay for her trip to come here. So I had here check on the price of a passport, visa and get me the name and phone #s of the agency`s. So that I can pay them directly. There is no way I was going to send money. That was on friday april 30. Today is sunday, I was doing some checking on the country of ukraine and came across your site. 1st what is the name of some of the agency`s that I can have her go and join, 2nd what are some of the scam agency`s that some people have talked about to check out her name & picture. 3rd can you get me the info I need on obtaining a passport in lugansk. The last thing is if I had flown there & this was a scam have you or anybody heard of anything that might have happ? (I know about the big scam in nigeria where they want to share part of 20, 30 ,or 50 million dollars, if you fly there to sign the papers at the bank, people have been held for ransom, and killed.) Sorry this is getting a bit long but it will be shorter next time.
